Another great visit to the Curaçao Marriott

This is our 7th stay at this property. I've been a Titanium Bonvoy member for years with almost 1,000 nights. This is the best beach for snorkeling of any property I've ever been to. Here for our 40th wedding anniversary. The staff is great. Talisha Binda and Paola Santos do a great job managing the property. Talisha took the time to meet us and make sure we were comfortable. I have only small suggestions: 1. We usually get a suite on the top floor. There is no protection from the sun and it can get too hot to stay on the balcony, in spite of the beautiful view. 2. There are not enough beach umbrellas. More than our last stay but not enough to accommodate the guests wanting to relax on the beach. Other than that, a wonderful resort with a fabulous staff and a beautiful beach. We are looking forward to our next stay there.
Underwhelmed

Overall we had a fine experience but when you’re on vacation you want AMAZING. The staff were nice enough but scarce. The room was clean but the furniture was low and small which as a taller person became uncomfortable. Loved the shower in the room. We had to change rooms because our door did not shut properly and they needed to fix it. Waiting for the room change was a bummer and took two hours of our time. The beach was incredible and I loved that it was sort of private just for hotel guests. Easy to grab a chair. The adult pool was very nice. We had a package where we got the breakfast buffet included which was tasty and all the options you need for breakfast. There were two restaurants which was really just one in the lobby. Hard to get a seat and they were all uncomfortable seats. Food was good in all the places we ate. The staff was nice but I didn’t get that warm island welcome. The vibes in this place were a little off. It did not seem like anyone was having a fantastic time. Maybe this is more of a relax and chill place and not a have fun laugh drink place. We had requested a late checkout since we had a later flight but they would not allow it which after the room debacle would have been nice to have. Parking was simple abd free. The grounds are small enough you can get to everywhere easily once you figure the lay of the land. The hotel needs a lot of updates. There are a lot of things out of repair. One ping pong table thrown to the side. Signage that is worn away and looks old and uncared for. A lot of small things that add up to not being crisp and upscale looking. In general it was a fine time but I would choose a different hotel next time.
Another Great Stay

Another Great Stay My wife and I took our yearly trip to Curacao and choose to stay at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort as we have done for many years in the past. I like the location of the hotel, as it is on the beach and close to shopping malls, grocery stores and a short drive to town as well as the airport. Curacao is definitely an island that you will want to rent a car to explore all that it has to offer. I contacted Jacob Brigitha at the front desk before I arrived and asked him to send me a list of new restaurants that he would recommend. I chose seven restaurants and times and he made the reservations, then sent me a confirmation of each one. I like to make my dinning reservations a week ahead so that we can dine at the times and location of our choosing. The island has so many good restaurants I am glad the hotel is not all-Inclusive; I would not stay at an all-Inclusive hotel. The Pietermaai area in Punda is about 10 minutes away and offers a wide variety of dining options, which I think are some of the bests on the island. The food at the hotel is good but not something that I would like to eat all week long. Since we have stayed at this hotel many times before, I contacted Graceny Webster to get the room location that I wanted rather than take a chance of not being where we would like to be. Vacation is expensive and limited in time, so I like a room location to be as perfect as possible. Graceny was very helpful and accommodating to my request. Upon arrival I was greeted by two outstanding bell men, Nash and Brian, who took the bags from the car to the room. During my stay they were a valuable resource of information about the island. Laklisha Connor at the front desk was very helpful throughout my stay. She always had good things to say and a smile on her face. The Salty Iguana beach bar was being remodeled and will be open soon, but I did not see any interruption in service. The food quality is a few notches below our prior experience, however. The hotel has several bars spread out over the property in and about the pool beach area. Maria and John at the bar did a great job of making my drinks. The hotel has a coffee house on property called Papiamento that has fresh baked good, coffee, snacks and cold drinks. Ingrid works at the counter and she has been at the hotel for over 25 years. I enjoy talking with her every year and she remembers me. I am a Titanium member so I had access to the Reef Club, which is a great feature of this hotel and one of the many reasons why we return to the hotel every year. If needed, you can work on your computer during your stay; the club is a nice place to work. The club offers a quiet place for breakfast, evening finger food, cocktails and cold drinks throughout out the day. We enjoyed many diverse conversations of the group of people that occupied the club. Most of the guests in the club are friendly and are there throughout the week, creating a constant stream of conversation with the same people. The hotel offers two computers in the lobby that are connected to the internet and a printer. The computer is helpful in printing airline boarding passes. We enjoyed the beach and pool and never had any problems getting a shady place to sit. We enjoyed our stay and are planning our next visit to Curacao and the Marriott. Keep up the work and see you soon.

The resort has a beautiful view. It’s not inclusive. They have about two or three restaurants to choose from and the food is really good. Staff was nice. The rooms are spacious especially the closet space. The pool is 24 hrs the bar closes at midnight. Other than it not being inclusive. Everything was great. Good and drinks are fairly priced. Drinks are about $13 each meal is about $20
Really nice resort but mosquitos an issue...

We really enjoyed the resort. Staff friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast very good. The beach is obviously man-made but was still nice. Easy to get an umbrella, pools were very nice, and can snorklel in one of the coves. We did have one significant concern which would probably prevent us from returning: mosquitos. The mosquitos at the resort were terrible especially starting at sunset and into the evening. This wasn't just us being overly sensitive. Many guests and staff members we spoke with commented on the mosquitos as well. In fact, there were cans of repellent at the main lobby desk and at the bars. We don't know if it was the time of the year or if it is always this way but wanted to make others aware.
