Room view/size: fantastic Room Temperature: hot, we could not open our blinds as we tried to keep it cooler and I had to take a taxi back and forth to go buy a fan for our room. First time I ever had to buy a fan to keep our room cool. I have health issues so rooms that may be considered average temp are hot to me. So some of this was because of my health, but they would not lower the temperature regardless. Thankfully, I did not have an attack. The first night we had an electrical malfunction and everything went out. We lost some of our devices that quit working as a result. Reported it to the front desk, but no one ever came to our room. After about 30 minutes the lights came back on in our room. We were just in Aruba in December with the same electrical set up and had no issues. Here it was definitely an issue. Ice machine never worked for our entire stay. Reported it multiple times. Closed captioning only works on a few channels. Food: average. We ate all our meals but one at the resort. In most situations the meat was undercooked. Not a big selection. The marketplace was good. Front desk: multiple times I called and never got an answer only to walk down and find them grouped together talking. I asked ahead of time about grocery delivery and was told there was none. Well, there is as I found out by searching the internet. Other Staff: outstanding. The housekeeping staff and bellmen were what made this resort stand out, especially Joanne and Bryan. They were super! It was our wedding anniversary and I had guest relations order flowers for me to have in our room when we arrived. They were exactly what I wanted. Disappointing in that the resort did nothing for us, unlike other places we have stayed for our wedding anniversary. If every staff member, starting at the very top, were as nice as Joanne and Bryan this place would be spectacular.
Extraordinary stay; amazing vacation!

I rarely leave TripAdvisor reviews; however, our experience truly deserves an exception. My family, along with another couple, had an extraordinary stay, starting with the genuinely friendly and helpful resort staff. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the team, from the check-in reception to the towel hut, restaurant staff, and concierges set the tone for a wonderful vacation. Every encounter was met with a smile, and even the iguanas around the grounds seemed happy to welcome us! The resort itself is beautiful, more fitting a Ritz Carlton name (which we’ve stayed in at Aruba). Both the adult (an infinity pool right off the beach) and family pools were fantastic, and the beaches were immaculate, with soft sand and plenty of space. The best part was that there was never a worry about reserving a beach or pool lounge chair under an umbrella or a large cabana (plus, they are all free) regardless of the time of day. Even with the resort at near capacity, loungers and cabanas were always available (and free), and no more 7am rituals of marking your spot with a book and flip flops! We also went snorkeling 2x (and they do a free session at least 1x week) and did the resort’s scuba diving (first a 30 min class, then 50 minutes in the ocean) with instructors that keep you entertained! The coral reefs right in front of the resort were vibrant with lots of colorful fish and we even got a closeup of a fairly large seahorse! We ate our lunches at both the Zala Lounge (Asian fusion, with amazing sushi and rolls, plus a massive full wall screen if there’s a good sporting event) and the outside casual Salty’s (excellent wings, poke bowls, and local Montana ale). Plus, the JFK Steakhouse for dinner was excellent with great ribeyes, NY strips and salad bar. JFK is also where you’ll have your huge breakfast buffet. Finally, the room was spacious for 3 but the best part was the incredible views. We had an oceanfront room with 2 queen beds, and our friends had an oceanview (with a view of the infinity pool and ocean) with a king, both I highly recommend. We spent a good amount of time on the terrace enjoying the scenery and sounds of the ocean (with a complimentary Prosecco for my wife’s birthday – see photo!) Overall, I can’t recommend the resort more enthusiastically. It exceeded our expectations at every turn, and we’ll definitely be returning!
Hotel in Paradise

Great hotel. Absolutely stunning views. The pool is very fun with an awesome bar that has lots of tasty drinks. Good beach with a nice breakwater and very clear water. You can borrow a snorkel and mask for 1 hour from the dive shop. 50$ cash hold that is returned when you bring back the gear. Beware that the beaches are very rocky. Bring water shoes or closed toed sandals. Two separate bars, with one being upstairs by the lobby and the other by the pool. Lots of food options on the hotel. There is also a cafe that has coffee, snacks and breakfast sandwiches to go. A bagel cost $4 US It is outside of Willemstad so you will be paying for taxis everywhere you go. This is a Marriott Hotel. You will be paying Marriott prices. It is by no means a budget option. This place is also paradise though, money well spent
Incredible Property with Amazing Staff!

Very impressed by this resort. The staff is incredible and very friendly and helpful. Resort is so relaxing and you can be completely content and enjoy your time never having to leave the property, or if you do want to venture out to see all that Curacao has to offer with other beaches and downtown, it’s easy to get to anywhere you want! There is Hertz Rental Car on-site, lots of activities and the Bonvoy reception on Wednesday with staff was so enjoyable to mingle with staff and guests. Niels and Emanuel are doing an incredible job at this property! Will 100% stay here when return to Curacao!
A Beautiful Property With Unrealized Potential — 3/5 Stars

The Marriott Curacao sits on a stunning stretch of the island and has all the bones of a truly world-class resort. The grounds are well-kept, the property is generally clean, and there are genuinely exceptional team members here — Kaeber and RJ stood out as warm, attentive, and exactly the kind of hospitality professionals that make you feel welcome. If the entire staff operated at their level, this review would look very different. Unfortunately, that consistency simply isn’t there, and for a Marriott property at this price point, the gaps are hard to overlook. The issues we encountered weren’t isolated — they felt systemic. The hotel appears understaffed across the board. The front desk and bell desk were frequently unreachable by phone, lines at check-in and check-out moved at a crawl, and getting a bellman meant waiting so long that we eventually brought our own luggage down. Guest relations was slow to respond to email requests, and when you’re paying resort rates, that kind of lag is frustrating. To make matters worse, drinks were offered to some guests waiting to check in but not others — a small thing, but the inconsistency speaks to a lack of coordinated hospitality. The room experience left a lot to be desired as well. Housekeeping ran late, and on two consecutive days after our room was finally made up, we were left with only two bath towels and nothing else — no hand towels, no washcloths. Soap in the shower went unreplenished, and gum on the floor of the corridor outside our room remained there day after day. These are basic details that a resort of this caliber simply shouldn’t miss. Poolside was similarly disappointing. Getting a drink required going out of your way — there was no proactive service to speak of. Some beach chairs were broken and hadn’t been replaced or repaired. The adult pool is oddly dominated by a permanent lap pool configuration, leaving little room for the kind of leisurely resort pool experience you’d expect. The towel hut at the adult pool wasn’t even open every day. It all felt like a resort that hasn’t quite figured out what experience it wants to deliver. The Reef was overly policed — we were asked to forfeit a can of soda on the way out, which felt more like a convenience store rule than a resort amenity. Strangely, coffee was permitted to leave, but lids for the cups were not provided. Small contradictions like this add up and chip away at the overall feel of the stay. We also discovered entirely by accident — while parking our car — that the resort has tennis and pickleball courts. There was no mention of them at check-in, no signage we came across, and no promotion of the amenity whatsoever. Valet parking added another layer of friction, as you had to wait while they parked the car and then wait again for them to retrieve your key rather than simply getting a ticket. The bottom line: this is a beautiful property in a beautiful place, with some truly kind people working here. But beauty and cleanliness can only carry a stay so far. Hospitality is about anticipating needs, delivering consistently, and making guests feel genuinely cared for — and on most fronts, this resort fell well short of that standard. For the rate you’re paying, you deserve much more than what’s currently being delivered. With better staffing, stronger service training, and more thoughtful attention to the guest experience, this place could be extraordinary. Right now, it’s just a pretty resort with a lot of room to grow.
