Fantastic staff and great location!

Hyatt Centric is in the center of it all if you’re looking for walking distance to practically everything. We had an extended stay here with our 21 month old daughter and she absolutely fell in love with the wonderful staff. She couldn’t wait to go down there everyday to say hi and “surf” with everyone. A big, big THANK YOU to Malia, Anastasia, Elani, Linda, and all the wonderful staff who were so sweet and entertained my little girl and made our stay that much more memorable. Another cute benefit at this hotel if you have kids or just want a buddy for your stay is you can borrow a betta fish for your room. It was so fun to have her first fishy to take care of during this stay :)

We stayed as a family of five in the spacious Double Queen Suite with sofa pull-out—plenty of room for us. The only minor hiccup was coordinating bathroom use, but nothing major—just a heads-up that any more than five people might lead to some scheduling delays. Exceptional service at check-in Shout-out to Lance, who made the entire arrival process super seamless and welcoming. Though there weren’t any free upgrades for the entirety of our stay, he offered us an ocean-view room for two nights with a room change to a city view for the rest of our stay. We opted to stick with our original room to avoid the inconvenience of repacking, and Lance handled it all with professionalism and care. Handy logistical perks We also rented a car from the on-site Enterprise/National location—which was a lifesaver. Picking up before noon was easy thanks to their 9?AM–12?PM hours, and we returned the car after the office closed with zero hassle. The staff helped navigate the best coverage options. It was convenient, affordable, and aligned perfectly with our plans. Top-tier location & local events The hotel is in a prime spot—walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Waikiki (Make reservations to the House without a Key if you can, wonderful experience overall). We also loved being right in the action for the 42nd Annual Pan-Pacific Festival parade - unplanned but a nice surprise with the Friday evening block party and Saturday AM parade. A minor detour around road closures didn’t slow us down—there were easy alternative routes back to the car rental and hotel. Standout amenities & experiences Beach essentials: Beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards were chef’s kiss. The staff handling them were consistently friendly and attentive—definitely a highlight! Yoga sessions: The Thursday morning class was incredibly relaxing and helped us recharge mid-vacation. And for free? woohoo! Housekeeping: Jane, the manager on Floor 7, was phenomenal—always greeting us with a smile and keeping everything spotless. Suggested improvements It would be helpful to include info in marketing or at check-in about the car rental return policy—especially noting the after-hours drop-off flexibility. All in all, this was a 5-star family stay. From Lance’s warm welcome to the beach gear and yoga perks, we loved every moment. We’ll absolutely be back—and already recommending it to friends and family!
