More like a Motel 6, substandard

FruGlo (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) on Apr 27, 2024

This was like staying in a Motel 6. The rooms are old and I had a view of the parking lot and the garbage area. Thankfully I only had to stay here one night. Anything more would have been depressing. Find somewhere else to stay.

Incredible Week at the Sheraton PK - Mahalo :)

JamieNoelaniPark (Santa Monica, California) on Apr 26, 2024

Mahalo to the Sheraton PK team. We loved our stay there so much and cannot wait to return. Super central location in the heart of Waikiki, close to everything, a hop and a skip to the beach, to Duke's etc. We had a beautiful ocean view from the Ainahou Tower. I just wanted to thank the entire staff for such an incredible stay. This staff is PURE love and aloha spirit. I have to also give a shout out to Ethan, Carlos and Floyd at the pool. SO kind and pure aloha spirit. And another huge shout out to Samantha in Guest Services. I’ve been coming to the PK for decades whenever I visit my ohana in Hawaii and I will always keep coming back. The prices are more affordable than some of the higher end luxury hotels like the Surfrider but just as close to the beach and just as beautiful. This trip was a bittersweet one as my father (who is from Hawaii) passed away and we all came back to Hawaii to celebrate his life and scatter his ashes at Sweetheart Rock Lanai and also the North Shore…..but being at the PK during my stay was everything. I love this hotel, the staff so much and will forever return and recommend to my friends coming to the island. I always feel like "Ohana" (Family) when I am at this hotel. Mahalo Sheraton PK. xx

Disappointing Room at the Sheraton

Fiona S (Gold Coast, Australia) on Apr 24, 2024

We got put in a very outdated room that had a damaged mirror and old threaded bedspread. No view or balcony but that was probably because we booked through my cruises who must of only had access to these rooms the hotel could not sell. Was surprised how there were no glasses or cups as well, it was all plastic! How bad for the environment. Not sure if they didn’t have any or are they doing this due to covid which was years ago anyway? I’ve never seen that before staying in a hotel. Our room was either next to the air conditioning units or industrial vents as we got to listen to humming all night, and the walls were paper thin we enjoyed listening to the coughing from our neighbours through the night (who had clearly never heard of cough medicine) so I would not call this a quiet hotel at all. I worked for Sheraton in Australia 20 years ago and know how high the standards were so was excited to stay here- I was so disappointed. The only good thing about our room was the comfortable bed. The front desk area and main lobby and driveway were nice, I think we just got a bad room. Great location too- you can walk to the beach and shops. All the staff at the front desk we dealt with were lovely. Pool is very small for such a large hotel too. For the price of this place I’m sure you could find somewhere way better!

Nice Tourist Hotel in Popular Area Near the Beach

J3440RKfredm (Baltimore, Maryland) on Apr 11, 2024

The hotel is a bit dated and in the process of renovation. The renovation noises were beyond loud during my stay. Everyone who worked at the hotel were friendly and professional. The rooms were a bit small, and the beds had tape on the headboards. The balcony of the room had an amazing view of the beach and ocean. Breakfast was on the gourmet level. The frittata; the garlic chicken with mochi waffle--all was delicious and bountiful along with fresh poured Kona coffee. The drinks at the bar were on the light side with hardly any alcohol and one of the worst mai tais in Hawaii. The beach chairs were great to take across the street to the beach. The pool is small and nothing special. The hotel is located in an area full of restaurants and bars. I am hoping the renovations bring the hotel into the 2020s for now is like a hotel stuck in 1980. I would return after the renovations and try again.

Good value for money

Melissa F (Sydney, Australia) on Apr 08, 2024

My husband and I visited this lovely property for 10 nights in March for my 60th Birthday and our 36th Wedding Anniversary. It was our first stay at The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani having travelled to Hawaii 4 times previously staying at other properties. Our room had be renovated recently and was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff very lovely and efficient. The pool staff were a little distant and did not seem to be concerned about the needs of people around the pool area. The food was always lovely at the hotel and plenty of it. I was a little disappointed that we were not advised that renovations were happening as you do not expect to spend your holiday lying beside the pool listening to drilling. The most disappointing thing about our stay was our room (25th Floor)was facing the International Market Place and the noise at night was terrible as the place partied until 2am every night. Even with our door closed this could be heard and if you are a light sleeper forget getting to sleep until after this finishes. This was the general complaint from all the people we met. Value for money The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is very much worth it if you can tolerate noise.
