Great Location, Hotel Update in Progress

I stayed here and reserved during a block reservation for my friend's wedding out in Hawaii. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was going under some HVAC and generator testing, and that AC power would not be on full blast. Well, when we arrived it was a hot day. I appreciated the heads up, but when we went to check-in around 1pm we were told rooms were not ready. I was a little bummed because I was tired, hot, and wanted to put my stuff down, but it was completely understandable. We were given water during the check in, and the elevators were a short walk from the concierge. I was lucky to have gotten a clean room in the renovated tower, and had a very decent view of the Royal Hawaiian, city, and some ocean. It's in an excellent location in the middle of Waikiki. If you like convenience, its a great place because you are near popular bus stops, the beach is across the street, restaurants, stores, Royal Hawaiian Center, International Marketplace, and Duke's Marketplace. The only downsides from my personal experience is that the bathroom amenities could be more, especially with the price paid, and balcony sliding door windows could be a bit more sound proof. You literally hear the wind, HVACs, nightclubs, and early morning garbage pick-up (and I was on the 15th floor). The hotel is going through renovations and construction, so it may be missing a few pieces to the puzzle since it's a work in progress.
Welcoming service from the start

Floyd set an exceptional standard for hospitality from the very first moment of arrival. As the initial point of contact, he immediately established a warm, professional, and welcoming atmosphere that made a lasting impression on both me and my family. He demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect on a personal level—quickly engaging with us in a genuine and thoughtful manner. Rather than offering routine service, Floyd took the time to get to know us, displaying sincere interest and attentiveness that went well beyond expectations. His interpersonal skills are outstanding; he communicates with ease, professionalism, and authenticity, making guests feel both valued and at home. What truly distinguishes Floyd is his evident care for the guest experience. His actions conveyed not just courtesy, but a genuine commitment to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. In a role that often serves as a first impression, Floyd exemplifies the highest standards of service, professionalism, and human connection. He is a tremendous asset to the hotel, and his presence significantly enhances the overall guest experience. I would confidently say that Floyd embodies the very best of hospitality.

Celene who checked me in was really good. I’ve stayed at this hotel twice a year for the last ten years and I had the best experience with her. She’s a good listener, perceptive and gave me a room that I was really happy with.

Like most hotels in Waikiki this place could use some TLC. The gym was nice and all the staff super friendly. Enjoyed the breakfast and they did accommodate a late checkout.
