A perfect family getaway

David H on Jul 20, 2024

From check-in to check-out, the experience at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa exceeded expectations. The property was gorgeous, there were tons of activities available, multiple pools, great food daily in the Club Lounge, a spacious and well-equipped gym, easy-to-use parking, and incredible beach access. I was already mentally planning out my next trip here on the way to the airport.

Hyatt Maui - An Absolute Great Experience

Joseph A (Linden, United States) on Jul 16, 2024

Recently spent 6 nights at the Hyatt Maui and could not have been more satisfied with our stay. From the service and helpfulness of the staff, to the decor and cleanliness of our room and the hotel, to the pool and the penguins and parrots. If you are going to Maui, you need to stay at the Hyatt. You will not be disappointed.

Located on a strip with several other resorts on the beach.. all other resorts were accessible through a walkway on the beach. 3 different pools with an amazing slide. Nice food options. Room was updated and clean and spacious. everything as promised. Property was huge. I highly recommend them.

Beware of poolside construction

mtsloan2 (Newport Beach, California) on Jul 11, 2024

Beautiful property and the newly remodeled rooms were excellent. We came for a babymoon hoping to enjoy some relaxing days poolside, however, current grotto construction between the main infinity pool & family pool proved otherwise. We encountered days filled with loud jackhammering that was a huge nuisance and gave my pregnant wife immediate headaches. It was also frustrating that the Hyatt Residences pools next door were all closed for remodeling. This was poor planning as I heard the residences pools were set to open in the coming days yet they couldn’t postpone the jackhammering at the main pool for a few days so guests could at least enjoy one pool without loud construction. What a bummer of a trip not being able to fully enjoy spending time poolside. I’m not one to write negative reviews but our trip experience was greatly compromised. The issue should be resolved now that the Hyatt residences pools are now open but I would not stay again till the main pools construction is completed.

More Magical than Disney

INeedToVacate78636 (Johnson City, Texas) on Jul 09, 2024

Our vacation at the Hyatt Regency Maui was nothing less than magical. After the fires, we were nervous that we wouldn't even be able to go. The hotel and the area were fully reopened about a month before we arrived. We stayed on Maui for Christmas, and our holiday was Hallmark perfection. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, and I just can't say enough times how much we loved it. The views were incredible, and we could watch the whales breaching from one of the 180 degrees of balcony our suite provided. We went shopping for our daughter's Christmas presents on the Island, and the valets kept everything in storage until Christmas Eve when they brought everything to the side door of our room. On Christmas Eve, we ate at the Holiday Village and got pictures with Santa on the back lawn of the hotel. It was perfect too! We are Methodist, so we asked the desk where we could attend a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, and we were directed to the Honolua Methodist Church, where we experienced a traditional Tongan Service and the most beautiful sermon we have heard in years. We were disappointed that the pool was partially closed, and the construction was a bit of an eyesore, but we felt that meant that we would just have to come back again to experience everything once they were finished. Our littles LOVED the kids' pool and slides and the poolside food and beverage service was ON POINT. The waves on this part of the island are really great if you have smaller ones, but you can walk a few hundred yards up the beach and the waves get a lot better for wakeboarding and such. We walked to Black Rock Beach to snorkel one of the days (not the best place for littles FYI) and my husband and I swam with the sea turtles! We went on a whale watching tour as well and we saw a few. I would recommend if you are really into the whales, to charter private so you have more time. We did the Luau on Christmas Day and it was absolutely the cherry on top of our wonderful vacation. My husband and I are both elected officials, and we don't get many vacations, so when we do it, our number one goal is NO STRESS. I can say without a doubt that this vacation was stress-free. Everyone, from the valets and front desk to the concierge and room attendants made us feel welcome. It was the true Aloha spirit. I think a vacation is mostly what you make of it. This "the hotel feels dated" thing is probably the most exaggerated review. Pay ZERO attention to those. Do you want your Hawaiian vacation hotel to be a modern farmhouse? No? Okay, good, because it's not. It feels like you're on the the Island. Hyatt, please don't change a THING! As soon as I finish this review, I'm booking the Presidential Suite again for Christmas. (God I hope I didn't wait too long!)
