Incredible resort and snorkeling right off the beach!!
LadyTravelr (Billerica, Massachusetts) on Aug 26, 2024
Amazing trip! The snorkeling right off the hotel beach was some of the best I've ever seen. So many types of fish, turtles, coral and even a pod of dolphins swam by. It was incredible! The hotel itself was beautiful. The pools were great, our 1 BR villa was amazingly spacious. I highly recommend this resort.
Never pay full price

Never pay full price for this hotel. Kids enjoyed the pool and the staff was friendly, but it is less of a hotel and more like a timeshare. Lots of deals online and people willing to give you a deep discount. The cancellation date is two to three weeks prior to your stay. Most places are a day prior.
Not the expected view!!!

Beware if you book a timeshare rental or purchase one with Oceanfront, they do not have any oceanfront studios. Our "oceanfront" view was an ocean view at best but mostly faces the North Tower. Absolutely not what we expected. Very disappointing considering we paid top dollar for oceanfront. We were in the South Tower. I've stayed at Westin Nanea and our regular "ocean view" was a nicer room with a better view. The room was well appointed and clean. However, overall dated. Staff has all been amazing, but stated at check-in we are in what they consider an oceanfront room when i spoke up about the location. Pretty disappointing and I wish I read these reviews and chose elsewhere for the price. Side note we requested high floor and were given 2nd floor, ha.
The place is beautiful— really beautiful.

This was a vacation club sales presentation stay — at a reduced rate in exchange for sitting through a 90 min pitch. We decided not to buy-in despite numerous incentives … the place was crowded lotsa kids a lotta screaming kids. The room was a studio but slept 4 with a pullout couch. King bed kitchenette with 2 burner stove microwave and full fridge .. even a small dishwasher. The jacuzzi in our room didn’t work and by the 3rd day there were no housekeeping services so we had to complain . There was also no full size garbage can in the room simply a tiny bathroom waste can. They gave us a $50 voucher for the inconvenience which was nice and brought a trash can and came to fix the hot tub. These rooms go for $500-700/night. We paid $200 plus $30/day for parking. Perfect area with beach and walkable paths along shore. Free shuttle to Whalers Village too.

Good things- stayed in North tower- room was nice - view was correct - we didnt get the wrong view like many people seem to- we got what we were expecting as far as the view and the room seemed newish and updated. The location was nice- the beach was great and calm, not a lot of people around like the resort side. Negatives: I requested an early check in as we landed early- we were at hotel about 2:30 / 3:00- with groceries and reg. check in is 4- we didnt get in the room until 5:20. Not a great start. ( Dont land early - lots of ppl seemed to be waiting on their rooms to be ready. ) Elevators were very far from the room... quite a trek to go anywhere (TIP: we started using the stairs. ) There was 2 bugs I encountered - but where I encountered was the problem- kitchen drawer and bed! Noise at night that woke us up and made it hard to sleep - not sure what it was- they couldnt tell me. (Corner room close to utility room) AC was weird -all doors had to be shut and latched and they were very stiff to open and close so that was a pain- it would just get warm and even though the doors were closed we had to re open and close and latch and it was frustrating . The parking lot has no hotel entry - you have to walk outside and around to the main hotel entrance. Lastly staff was nice in person... but call them on the phone and they are very rude I called before arriving and I called after being there to ask for clarity on a cc charge and both times the women on the phone were so rude and condescending- not the aloha vibes you expect. I have stayed at the villas at the Marriott and remember not having any issues whatsoever.
