Smoky room in a Maui Westin Anaakapali Ocean Resort Villa

Sam K (Irvine, California) on Jun 07, 2025

The room we were assigned was very smoky. We even arrived one day later than the reserved date which theoretically gave them plenty of time to rid the odor if they paid attention. Management didn’t seem to care much. After speaking to the supervisor, she said she would expedite the preparation of a new room. After waiting two hours and past 4:00 pm checkin time, they still couldn’t tell us when the new room would be available. This isn’t like the Westin I knew.

Visit the villas!

edward m (Florence, Oregon) on May 26, 2025

We got a big room a one bedroom villa with a full kitchen beautiful pool easy access to the beach. The furnishings in the room are lovely. It’s a very spacious huge bathroom comes with nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Parking is tight, but what do you expect? It’s away rent a small car. The staff is super friendly and super helpful.

The place did not live up to expectations

Ahmad F (Danville, California) on May 24, 2025

Did not live up to expectations Our sliding glass door did not slide. The view was obstructed anyway by a brick wall. The toaster was missing. The coffee maker was broken. The shower was dysfunctional at times. The microwave did not work. The WiFi dropped as you changed floors. Room service was scant. Very few restaurants on the property. A shuttle bus took us to Whaler’s Village. But it was not air conditioned. On the positive side, the beach walk was great and the sunset views were awesome. The staff was courteous.

A Tip-top. Resort….

Denis841 (Castlewellan, United Kingdom) on May 15, 2025

This sprawling resort is like no other. It’s big and bustling, yet never seems overcrowded. There are numerous pools and many loungers to while away the hours and take in the rays. Situated right on Ka’anapali Beach, one of, if not the best beach in North America, you have the best of swimming and snorkeling just outside your villa. A spectacular boardwalk runs along the beach for the early morning walkers and joggers. You could stay on the resort sampling its restaurants (3), using its exercise facilities and treating yourself to the spa and its many treatments, but a car will allow you to enjoy the many facets of the Valley Isle. Besides the onsite restaurants, the resort offers a free shuttle to nearby shops and eateries. (I mean, complete or what!) You are treated to villas that are exceptionally fitted out. Nice comfy beds, a living room, great bathrooms and washer/dryers and all this in the smallest studio units right up to the three bedrooms. This is essentially a timeshare property, although you can rent villas on the Marriott website. The last (and perhaps the best) thing about this property is its staff. Great, friendly people who welcome you with ‘Aloha’ and who will ensure you a great stay on the Islands
