Lagoon Tower Improvement Project, November 21, 2022, through December 19, 2025.
Royal Kona Resort is a 12-acre oceanfront landmark with three distinct guestroom towers - Alii Tower, Bay Tower and Lagoon Tower
Beginning November 21, 2022, exterior improvements will take place at the Lagoon Tower located on the southern end of the resort property. As a courtesy, resort guests will be accommodated exclusively in the Bay Tower and the Alii Tower for the project duration. To minimize noise disruption, repair work on the Lagoon Tower will be restricted between 9am and 4pm daily.
All efforts will be made to minimize impact to guests during this time.

This 12-acre landmark oceanfront resort overlooks breathtaking Kailua Bay and is in the heart of Kailua-Kona. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops, historical sites, activities and a great base for exploring the island including Volcanoes National Park and the Astronomy Center of Hawaii.

The Royal Kona Resort is stylish and beautiful! The staff is amazing, sweet and kind as well as helpful! I loved my stay. The restaurant view is breathtaking and the food is delicious. The resort had everything I had wished for and more. It’s close to everything you would need and there are lots of great shops and things to do steps away.
Great Location, But Needs Work

Our stay was disappointing. The hotel is in a wonderful location, just south of "downtown" on Ali'i Drive. The grounds are beautiful. But the stay was disappointing. * Check in was disorganized, took longer than it should, and unfriendly. * All other interactions with front desk were curt, other than checkout. No hello, please or thank-you. * The room was noisy. We were next to a noisy, clanking elevator. And there was jack-hammering and constuction noise during the day. * Our room was sadly in need of a face-lift. Carpet was worn, exposing pointy carpet tacks. The bathroom, particularly the shower, was sad. * And the "free" Mai Tai coupons given at check-in can only be used for a substandard version not on the menu.
