Royal Kona is a great spot in the heart of the Kona action

Royal Kona resort is right where you want to be in Kona. It is on the southern end of the main drag through the tourist area, Alii Drive. The hotel has a lovely outdoor eating and bar area that sits right out on the water. The cool ocean breezes in this circular area make for wonderful meals and views. The menu is not fancy, but everything we had there was very good. The rooms are what you should expect in Hawaii, and our room was very clean and very well maintained during our stay. Our ocean view from our balcony was one of the best we have ever had a Hawaiian resort. The lights of Alii Drive were gorgeous at night and the colors of the ocean in the "bay" were brilliant and ever-changing from morning to night. Parking can be tricky on the nights the hotel hosts a luau, but it is conveniently located and easy to get in and out of. There is a high quality gym located in the one of the towers. The pool areas are very clean and very well serviced. Every interaction we had with the staff was very pleasant. The property is located within short walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Alii Dr. If you want to stay in Kona, this is a good spot to be at.
The only place to escape to in this paradise is this luscious resort.

The staff at your front desk was kind, forthcoming and helpful in every way. If I needed something delivered to the room; it didn’t take long at all. The housekeepers were great; in and out and very respectful of privacy. I’ve worked in the hotel industry for over ten years, so I’m mindful that customer service can be a task. But this staff has done it with grace and a smile throughout my stay. I would come again to this resort that right on the ocean.
