First time in Vegas
Califaraway (Walnut Creek, California) on May 09, 2025
I have not been to nor had any interest in visiting Vegas, so this review is solely for the experience at the hotel. I attended for a conference. I found check-in to be quick and efficient, and my status was recognized, but no upgrades were available. The front desk offered to have me check back in the next day for a possible upgrade, but I declined. The hotel itself is what I imagined a casino hotel in Vegas would be like, sprawling, hard to navigate, and as usual, you have to go through the smoky casino to enter and exit. The hallways to the rooms and the conference spaces however were well maintained and clean. I had a double-queen corner view. The room itself is standard and suited my business needs and was clean enough, although the beds were worn (sinkholes in them which I find disgusting). The automatic controller pad in the room was convenient. The staff overall were friendly and efficient. Mary Grace De Chavez at the concierge stand was a true delight, going above and beyond to make dinner reservations, give me a map and directions, and tips on navigating the strip. She was friendly and very professional without being stiff or stuffy. A real gem - they are lucky to have her! The one major complaint is the lack of water filling stations at the hotel. It feels as if they are forcing purchase of plastic bottles at a huge premium to make a profit over the environmental impact. You can do better Aria! Overall a decent enough biz stay, with Mary Grace De Chavez as a highlight!
Nice resort with plenty to offer

Nice hotel, obviously as with all big Vegas properties there can be queues at check in- although self check in is available we preferred not to use this- and there can be a long walk to your room. Have stayed at the Aria three times previously and the room we were in on this occasion although very clean was definitely showing its age. We had an issue with the automated curtains which took several days to fix (temporarily) so we reported the returning fault at check out- hopefully this would be fixed permanently before the next guest. The food court offered good choice of freshly prepared food. The pool opens at 9am, some mornings were more organised than others, there are two lines, one for people with Bonvoy/MGM card status and one for hotel guests, they both move quickly. Bags are searched for prohibited items which was fine, plastic bottles of water etc were permitted. The pools can get very busy at peak times. Staff are very attentive and the food and drink offerings were good and reasonably priced. Plenty of life guards on duty at each pool. The spa is definitely worth a visit. The casino seemed very smoky on this occasion, something we never found an issue on previous visits. It was nice to see the tap in of cards to access the elevator lobby (previously just had to show). Had a parcel delivered to the business centre, picking up was an easy process but be aware this comes with a handling fee. I know pretty much all of the major hotels are charging for parking, it would have been nice if this was at a reduced rate (or free) for hotel guests as you pay resort fee as well. Would stay at this property again.
