Great location and price. Hotel condition and service poor.

Well, I suppose you get what you pay for. Housekeeping came after 6 pm or not at all, hot water wasn’t working one night, and the Wi-Fi was down at times. On the positive side it was a great price for a spacious suite and the location is at the center of the strip.

The Worst Casino on the Strip

HempHippie (Indiana) on Feb 12, 2025

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is, hands-down, the worst casino on the strip and likely, in Las Vegas. First, let me preface this by telling you that I go to Vegas multiple times a year and I've stayed all over the Strip as well as Fremont Street. In fact, I've even stayed at Imperial Palace back when it existed. (For those who don't know, Imperial Palace turned into The Quad which then turned into The Link. Same property.) I'm also not usually picky: if the service is decent and the room is okay, I'm fine. I don't go to Las Vegas for the rooms or to stay just at my own casino. CHECK-IN We arrived at 3:12pm. For some reason, The Linq does not allow full online check-in. We stood in line and went to the self-serve kiosk. It didn't work. We tried the next one. It didn't work. We got back in line. We worked our way to the front of the line around 3:24pm. At that time, we were told that check-in is not allowed before 3:30. The employee said although they have rooms, their system LITERALLY WOULD NOT LET HER CHECK US IN. She told us to wait six minute and get back in line. Although this was insane, we did it. We waited another 18 minutes to go to the BACK of the line and get up to the front. THE ROOM The room was awful. Again, I'm not a room snob but the first thing we noticed was a door to our neighbor's room. We crossed our fingers they would be quiet (they weren't, but that's not on them) and started to unpack. When I went to the bathroom, I immediately noticed the sliding door that separated the toilet from the room and the THREE INCH GAP under it which did nothing to block sounds, smells, and light. There's an open "closet" in the room with no door, but it should have a curtain to close it. The curtain was missing. The room was horribly musty and humid and the air and heat did not seem to work correctly. We were also missing a top sheet. That means there was a bottom sheet and then a comforter. That's it. I picked up the phone to dial guest services to ask about a sheet and the label plate was missing from our phone so we had no idea what number to dial or which extension was which. I had to go BACK to the front desk and wait in line AGAIN to inquire about a top sheet since this seems very unhygienic. I was told that they do not include top sheets on the bed. It's just a bottom sheet and a very thin comforter. That's it. I asked if I could get another sheet and she said NO. The night was freezing since we couldn't get the AC/Heat to work properly. Again, with no phone plate, I had to walk BACK DOWNSTAIRS, wait in line AGAIN and ask the front desk for another blanket. I went back up to wait for an hour and a poor man delivered THREE sets of towels. No extra blanket. I didn't have it in me to go back downstairs again (COME ON, PUT THE LABEL BACK ON YOUR PHONE) so I gave up. I was traveling with friends and was surprised when I walked into their room to see a curtain (not missing), a phone label (not missing) and A TOP SHEET. They were also blessed with a lack of adjacent door that is as thin as paper. Side note: I could hear our neighbors' phone calls with crystal clear precision. Even if they weren't loud, normal conversations sound like they're taking place in your own room. CASINO Do you like the worst music in the world? Are you into mind-numbing beats without melody? Do you want it turned up to 11 even before breakfast? Well this is the casino for you! Why they're bumping loud techno music at all hours is beyond me. It is worse than any other location. The staff loudly complained about it. Everyone has to scream over the music at any time of day. It is absolutely obnoxious and offputting. Don't get me wrong: My friends and I are happy to get rowdy and dance for hours on end. However, we would do this in a CLUB. Not a casino. This casino wants to be a club and boy is it annoying. O'SHEAS Some of you might remember the "old" O'Sheas: Irish, small tattoo parlor, fun penny slots, beer pong... We loved it. I've been to the new O'Sheas about 12 times since it 'reopened' and I've played beer pong a few times there. However, it's just as obnoxious as The Linq. Everything about it screams "irish bar" which would be amazing except for the horrible club music blasting in there! PUT ON SOME IRISH SONGS! OR IRISH ROCK. Or Classic Rock. Something to match the vibe of what should be a cool place. They still have beer pong although the tables have been moved to a very inconvenient spot. (Please move them back to the corner where the Craps game is.) They also don't have any slot machines besides video poker at the bar. They SHOULD add some darts and fix their vibe and it would be a very cool location. If you do wander through there, sit down at a video poker machine and play a few hands at max credits... and then order a Frozen Bailey's. It's the best thing about that place. Delicious. EXPERIENCE The experience, which is the "street" between The Linq and Flamingo is cool - shops and restaurants and bars that lead you down to the High Roller. I have no complaints about the "Experience" but you don't need to stay at The Linq to go there. OVERALL The only thing The Linq has going for it is the location. It's across from Caesars in the very center of the strip. However, the service, rooms, and casino are simply terrible and no one there seems to want to make it any better. If you want a cheap option in the middle of the strip, simply go next door to the Flamingo. It's old, it's a little run down but it's a blast. Are the rooms great? No! Can I get a blanket if I need one? YES!! Will I hear horrible club music at 9am on the casino floor? NO! I'll hear Bob Seger and not want to throw myself out of a window. Free Advice to The Linq: we don't need a clubby casino. Although I can't change your awful customer service, I can tell you that a vibe-overhaul will do wonders. When you were Imperial Palace, you actually had fun things to see and do and you didn't drive people AWAY from your casino! Your tables had celebrity impersonator dealers which was a fun and easy way to get people drawn to your table games and the fact that you would rotate a performance here and there (without horrible music) was also fun. Bring back your celebrity impersonator dealers. Put on non-club music. Turn your volume down. Stop trying to appeal to 21 year olds and come up with a theme everyone can enjoy... like Las Vegas in the 50s. Make it a little mobby. The Flamingo did it right with their Meyer/Bugsy themed restaurant (and hidden speakeasy -- check it out) but stretching that out would create a very cool atmosphere and Vegas has the receipts to prove their history! Anyway, I'll never stay here again.
