Great resort, bad timing with marathon
Candice B on Sep 02, 2024
No one told me it was during the Kauai marathon so got stuck in with all roads closed and had to change flights for our extended family. Marathon started and ended at the resort, would have been good to have been informed when i booked it or checked in, so that was unfortunate.

Great resort. The staff were very friendly and took good care of us. The restaurant is fantastic and had very quick service. The pools were super fun. Saturday the pool was crazy packed. We had a hard time finding two chairs. I wish they had some fire pits or a place to hang out a night. Even a bar that was open later.

Beautiful resort with lots of great amenities. Loved the pool and grill/bar nearby. It was great for kids and adults alike, and the food and drinks were great. It was close to the beach and had good shopping nearby. Would absolutely stay again!

Our 2nd visit at Koloa Landing and as expected, it was a great experience! My family and I had a wonderful time! It’s a very clean and beautiful resort filled with lush tropical garden plus an amazing pool with two water slides. Their staff are amazing and all very friendly and helpful. Our room attendants are so nice- Maria and Tessie. Big thumbs up to these two ladies! Also, my son and I did the scavenger hunt, we almost got lost but Joven was able to direct us back to the correct path. He stopped whatever he was doing that time and immediately responded to us when my son asked him for direction . I think these amazing people are the heart or this hotel. Definitely, we will recommend to our love ones and friends. Mahalo Koloa Landing for a wonderful vacation! !! ???????
Koloa Landing lives up to the expectation!

Warning, this will be a long review. If you want all of the details, keep reading. We just returned from a 10 day stay at Koloa Landing. Stayed with myself, my husband and our daughter. From the moment we arrived (I won’t spoil the surprise) we were smitten with this place. Check-in was a breeze, thank you Lucia! Everything about our stay was explained and we were given a full-size color map with directions to our building. We booked our travel through Costco and I was a little nervous that we wouldn’t get as good treatment as if we had booked direct, but that was not the case. We were treated like royalty. Also, we prefer not to have any housekeeping during our stay and we were given a room credit for this. Our building was #7 on the second floor. If you want seclusion this is the building for you. We even had a small view of the ocean. The balcony was great. We had the end unit, so we overlooked the end of the tranquility (adult’s only) pool. The lights at night were so peaceful and there are 2 grills just steps away so we could make dinner each night and eat down there as well. We had a 1-bedroom island view villa and it did not disappoint. We are used to a condo/timeshare vibe so we weren’t sure if this would feel more “hotel” like. When we walked in, it felt like home. The unit was extremely clean and well kept. We cook all of our meals when we’re on vacation so the full kitchen with amenities was excellent. The finishes in the kitchen were wonderful. Soft close cabinets and drawers were a nice surprise. You can tell money was spent to make this place very upscale. The unit was a great size for the 3 of us. The split bathroom was wonderful so 2 or more people could get ready at the same time. The shower was huge as well. There was a full size dining table so we could eat our meals inside or outside. Now, for the most important part, the pool! It did not disappoint. It was the main reason we booked here. It was everything we expected and more! I am 40-ish years old and have not been on a water slide in over 30 years. Let me tell you, I was sliding every day! The main pool is of course busy with families and kids so yes, you will get splashed. There were plenty of chairs with umbrellas in the shade available each day. We went at different times each day and always had a place to put our things. I never felt unsafe leaving our pool bags unattended. It was so nice also, to see security walking around frequently to make sure everyone had their wristbands and were guests of the hotel. We ate poolside several days and I’d like to mention our server, Star. She was amazing. Extremely friendly and even remembered our names after just one day! She was quick and helpful and even kept us updated one day when the restaurant kitchen was running behind. She seems to truly care about her job and it shows! Let me tell you about the hidden gem we discovered, the “family” or lagoon pool. It was never crowded and bigger than I expected. If you want or need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main pool, just take a short walk over. It was extremely peaceful and was a nice place to relax at the end of each day. The grounds at Koloa Landing are impeccably maintained and gorgeous. It never felt too big either. We took walks each day and looking at the flowers and trees was very peaceful. And I have to point out that each employee we came in contact with was extremely polite and genuinely happy to say hello and speak to us. There are also a ton of activities to do if you’re interested. You would certainly never get bored. I cannot finish the review without mentioning the beach. Yes, we knew that this was not an oceanfront property ahead of time and we are not “beach people” so this was okay with us. There are plenty of beaches within a very short walk or drive, so do not let this dissuade your decision about staying here. Plus, the resort does have a huge amount of lawn space that looks directly at the ocean so you can walk out there every day and see it. I think that covers everything. Koloa Landing is a jewel of a property and you will not regret staying here!
