Koloa Landing Resort – A Perfect Hawaiian Getaway

Jennifer A on Dec 07, 2024

Koloa Landing Resort exceeded all our expectations! The two-bedroom villas are absolutely amazing—spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. The pool was a highlight, offering endless fun for everyone with its incredible design and features. We loved starting our mornings with coffee and fresh baked goods from the Marketplace, where the friendly staff made us feel so welcome. Dinner at Holoholo Grill was outstanding; the new menu items, especially the macadamia nut brie, were unforgettable! The fitness center was another bonus—filled with all brand-new equipment that made workouts a pleasure. A big shoutout to the front desk staff, especially Leisia, who went above and beyond to make our stay special.

Aloha spirit!! Amazing pool bar!!

alil311 on Dec 05, 2024

We usually go to Maui and had the most amazing Kauai experience ever! True aloha spirit at every level. The stound outs were at the bar/restaurant. We had Limar and Dustin and then Nikki the next day. All most genuine vibe, above and beyond! We had the pleasure of meeting Aimee from HR. Can’t wait to return!

Feels likes an Airbnb and skip the upgrades

MaddieMei2020 (Seattle, Washington) on Dec 05, 2024

We decided to stay here to celebrate our first anniversary. We arrived around 3pm, and the room was not ready yet (normally 4pm check in time). They said that they would call or text us when it was ready. The room was ready just a bit after 4pm. We did a staycation on the Big Island prior to coming to Kauai and stayed at 1 Hotel after a few days after here - both the other hotels had a note and a surprise for us in our room. This was the only hotel that didn't ask if we were celebrating anything or mention anything to us. Not a deal breaker but usually Autograph Collection properties go above and beyond. We decided to pay extra for the Coastal View upon booking. The view is not worth it. The view is the backyard of a house full of junk, power lines, and broken vehicles. The ocean is behind that. Also, there were construction guys working on the house and I wasn't sure if the windows were tinted or not. We ended up closing all the blinds and didn't even step foot on the balcony. Service - this was the hugest shocker to me. There was no service at all. No offer to help with luggage, telling us what the resort fee consisted of, etc. We checked in, they gave us a map and then we had to do everything on our own. It was like we were staying at an Airbnb condo. We didn't even ask for our room to be cleaned but because I didn't reply to the text, we didn't get the credit applied to our stay. At the pool, no one came around to help with towels, no signs of where to get towels, no one came around to take drink order. No one told us we needed pool bracelets - It was all a bit strange. Again not a deal breaker but for the price you pay for the room, you would think there should be better service. Parking - The parking closest to the buildings are always full or reserved. I had my husband double-park to help move luggage to and from the room when we checked in and checked out. Both times, maintenance yelled at us. Maybe the maintenance parking should be changed to loading and unloading parking for guests... Just a suggestion. Also there was no cell phone reception. So if you are planning to take any work calls, not the best place to do so. Having said all that ... This would be a great place for families or someone with kids. The pool would be great for kids with the waterslides. The units are huge! We had an 1 bedroom unit. It came with a full-size fridge, stove, microwave, full washer and dryer, and lots of seating. I think this is the biggest plus for the hotel. The in-unit washer and dryer are so nice, especially if you are out hiking all day and you can just toss your clothes in the wash when you get back. We didn't use the kitchen at all but it seemed to have all the things to make a meal, if you needed. Oh and don't forget your ear plugs - the roosters are alive and up early :)

Great Stay at Koloa Landing!

808leslill (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii) on Dec 02, 2024

We had an amazing stay at Koloa Landing! The staff was super friendly, and our room was a standout—really clean and incredibly spacious. As Platinum members, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a two-bedroom villa, which was such a nice bonus. I also loved that the rooms have full kitchens—it’s such a great option if you want to cook your own meals during your stay. This place is perfect for families, but I think your experience can depend a lot on which building you stay in. We were in Building 9, which overlooks the pool. We actually enjoyed hearing the activity and music from the pool, but if you’re looking for something quieter, I’d recommend asking for a building farther away. Just a heads-up: this isn’t a traditional hotel. There’s no room service, fancy restaurants, or poolside waitstaff. It’s more of a timeshare/apartment setup, which worked great for us. If you’re looking for a hotel-like vibe, this might not be your spot. But if you want big rooms, great pools, and the option to cook your own meals, you’ll love it here. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back!
