Family fun at Koloa Landing

Soni O (Alameda, California) on Nov 28, 2025

This was our second time at Koloa Landing Resort as a family. We stayed here about 2 years ago as well. We had a great time. The hotel itself is pretty big but not over the top. The buildings aren't more than 4 floors so it's not super imposing. The pool is amazing and my kids favorite part. We have Gold Elite status with Marriott and they were able to upgrade us from a 1-bedroom villa to a 2-bedroom villa which was AMAZING and so appreciated! There are a few things that I noticed that differed from when we stayed here in 2023. I noticed that there were fewer activities (like 2x week s'mores rather then 3x week), and the toiletry products in the room were smaller and generic, rather than Koloa Landing branded. Not a big deal, but I just noticed some cost cutting here and there. One thing I was slightly disappointed about was that we had invited my parents to come and they booked separately from us. Although they have Gold Elite Status, the hotel was unfortunately unable to upgrade their room and they were on the ground floor with their lanai facing the parking lot. They were in the building next to ours, which made it convenient, I just wish that they would have been able to experience a better room so that they'd want to come back!

Kauai Holiday at Koloa Landing

What’s GREAT: Spectacular property for families! Leis at check-in was unexpected & FUN! We were fortunate to receive a room upgrade. Our 2-bedroom villa had all the essentials & more. Rooms are beautiful and the property is very clean. We were able to cook breakfast every morning & lunch for our daughter. Holoholo Grill is also great for lunch. Lots of options. For younger kids, booking this resort is a no-brainer - amazing pool with slides, waterfalls, & easy access to the grill for food, plus servers at the pool. Shack near the pool has shaved ice - you can also rent umbrellas, beach chairs & snorkel gear. Shuttle service is amazing! Drivers are so helpful and friendly. Super convenient & will take you anywhere within Poipu. We did not rent a car and were glad we didn’t. We were able to stock the villa by picking up groceries at Big Save Market after we checked in. Shuttle will take you there. There’s also a great market on-site. Location is close to Poipu, Waiohai & Brennecke’s Beaches - great for swimming & bogey boarding for the kids! Downside: cleaning service was inconsistent. They clean 9am-5pm. We had to call twice for service & just ended up taking towels & foregoing service. Holoholo Grill is the only restaurant on property. Very casual (more like a pool bar) and closes at 9pm. Some of the neighboring properties have more of a bar and restaurant scene, including fire pits at night.

Highly recommended for families

We had a fantastic 6 day stay with 13 adults/kids across 3 villas. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The food in both the market and grill was excellent and reasonably priced for the area. everyone loved the pool.

Exceeded our expectations

TeeEmm (Carmel, California) on Nov 25, 2025

We spent two utterly delightful nights here and were truly impressed by the level of service and courtesy from the staff. We booked a suite using Marriott Bonvoy points, and they very kindly upgraded us to a nicer suite with incredible views. The entire resort is immaculate, well run, and from the initial warm greeting to goodbyes, we felt very well taken care of. Our suite had everything we needed (immaculate in every way), and the entire resort was so lovely, with many different pools from which to choose. The really big, award-winning pool was huge and so well done. The only thing I would say that was a bit of a let-down was the on-site outdoor restaurant. The ambiance was so blah. It could be so much better with just the right decor! Even decent lighting and more furniture, and a few plants. It was really lacking in character. Strange to see such cold ambience in a resort such as this. Even a few tiki torches would help! The serving staff were so welcoming, and the food was great. Why not make the restaurant a better feature? The location is within walking distance to great beaches and also shops and dining at both Koloa and Poipu. All in all, an incredible stay, but the biggest credit should go to the staff– they truly make this place special. Thank you!

Loved the Stay! Minor issue with spa

inVoyage (San Francisco, California) on Nov 25, 2025

Great stay for a couple! Loved the staff, amenities, and location. We stayed there for 5 nights, attended the spa, cooked in our suite and went scuba diving, boat touring, and helicopter flying in the area. For the spa, watch out for add on fees (annoying to deal with when not told about upfront) and arrive earlier than your scheduled time to get ready. We didn’t get much of a heads up about that and I think our 80min massage was cut shorter than it was supposed to be, which for such an expensive experience is not something I want to have to think about.
