Bed and bedding were terrific. Mattress was a perfect firmness. Had the best sleep I'd had in a very long time. The towels were also very nice.

Have been a frequent guest & diner of this landmark Hyatt. Went there for the 4th of July. They were charging $75 for valet, which is absurd as good service typically leads to people spending more money. I made reservations for my wife and I to eat at Shor (the restaurant at the Hyatt) and to enjoy drinks and the fireworks. It was obvious by viewing the other diners at Shor that the kitchen was backed up and they were understaffed to serve. We waited a significant amount of time for our appetizers and main course. After more than an hour we cancelled the dinner, paid our bill and left. The manager was apologetic and professional but the issues were obvious. Service in the bar was excellent but a table that was next to us outside by the bar (just before the fireworks) had been waiting for their dinners for approximately 2 hours. Same issues. If was an easily correctable mistake as many attend, dine and drink before the fireworks there. Basic planning would've have avoided this particularly since it is considered one of the best locations to view the fireworks from. I hope they learned from this. I'm a Hyatt Rewards member and this is not my customary experience with Hyatt.

Unfortunately, our stay at the Hyatt Newport Beach fell far short of expectations. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the property is in serious need of attention and investment. The room was not clean — we noticed visible dirt and stains that made us uncomfortable settling in. We also experienced unhelpful service throughout our stay. Any time we made a request, whether for basic amenities or assistance with our accommodations, we were met with confusion or a lack of follow-through. It felt like the staff was either untrained or completely overwhelmed. The grounds and common areas were also in rough shape, with worn-down infrastructure, broken fixtures, and a general lack of upkeep. For a property carrying the Hyatt name — and in such a prime location — this was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend staying here until serious improvements are made. There are far better options in Newport Beach that offer the level of cleanliness, professionalism, and quality you’d expect at this price point.

Excellent all around. Beautiful pools and landscape. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and very comfortable room. I’ll definitely come back.

Great property, great location, friendly staff. We had a major problem with our breakfast, but they immediately made it right.
