Beautiful Property with may fun amenities

seanandfamily3 (San Diego, California) on Jul 20, 2024

property has many included amenities: giant/very clean pool, jaquizzi, shuffle board, giant chess, 9-hole golf, and is central to many prospective activites. I highly recommend the facility. Be watchful for hidden or undisclosed fees, though.

Never meet your hero’s

Jeremy111117 (Valley Springs, California) on Jul 15, 2024

Once you get settled in, the this hotel feels like a stay & play resort. It has some very nice amenities with the pools, one pool side bar & a slide for the kids. On-site restaurant & lounge area. Some beautiful scenery & well manicured landscaping. The check-in process & parking situation are hard to overlook. The line to check-in took 20+ minutes. Once we started the process, we were told the room would be ready later than expected. We were also told we would get an 'ocean' view room, but ended up getting a room poolside. The parking price is over the top as well. Hundreds of open spaces & they charge $40 a night for self parking. Which requires an uphill climb to get back to the hotel property with your luggage. Inconvenient & overpriced. I'd say $20-$25 a night would make more sense. The room was clean, although it had a bit of a smell that took some getting used to. We ended up trying to spend as little time as possible in the room so it would be easier to overlook the shortcomings. The walls are terribly thin. Kids running down the halls & jumping around in the room above us. This hotel accommodates a lot of people, & you can tell by the noise. There was a beach nearby & enough experiences within the surrounding area of Newport Beach that kept us busy. The pools were fun & my son enjoyed the slide. Poolside bar was very nice as well. If you can overlook the long check-in process, outrageously priced parking & bring some earplugs... This hotel is not bad, but not great.

Cute fun resort

Great location. Walked across the street to the bay for SUP or the inflatable water park. Free golf and bikes, fun pool huge hot tub. Property is charming and older, the location and grounds make it very fun. Nice staff.

Enjoyed Our Stay

Zwhite (Southern California) on Jul 13, 2024

Nice resort, a little iffy here and there. Generally, a good placed. I would suggest as family friendly. What is nice? Rooms were spacious, 3 fun pools, large attractive grounds, fun family friendly activates and games. What is iffy? The $40 parking includes a hike. I was hiking up the little hill one evening and a facilities cart with 2 rows of seating passed by me, how nice would it have been if they had stopped and offered a ride up to the lobby? $15 drinks should be tasty and should seem a quality product. Not sure why the pool bars was closed, but that caused some confusion with ordering and resulted in a long delay. Food options limited. The menu of the "Casual" dining option was the "Formal" dining option's lunch menu. And there are no places to eat within walking distance. A power washing of some of the public walkways would go a long way. A little bit of that kind of maintenance stuff. Overall A decent place to relax, plenty of room to bump around. Seemed like a great place if you have kids. If you're going to be there for a few days and spending significant time at the hotel, sort out yourself a little self-sufficiency. You might want to bring in some beverages, snacks, fruit... The rooms have little fringes.
