Love this Property!

Deborah C (United States) on Jun 29, 2022

I am a loyal Hyatt frequent stayer and the Newport beach property contributes to that decision. The staff is wonderful, whatever you need/want they find a way to accommodate you. The property accepts dogs so there is always a furry friend around to pet. The property itself is lovely. The beds are comfortable, and the linens are fresh and crisp.

Family Friendly and Fun Vibe

BackPacker828718 on Jun 29, 2022

The hotel is so lush and has plenty of activities for both families and couples like my husband and me. When we arrived, the stress of the week melted off with the calming vacation vibes. Kids were enjoying time with their families at the pool while we read and enjoyed Mai Tais delivered to our lounge chairs. We ate at the bar 4 times in 2 days. The veggie flatbread was one of the best I have tasted. Now the question is, "How do we make time to get back to this lovely resort with our kids and grandbabies."

Needs a facelift

SDK0605 (Suwanee, Georgia) on Jun 28, 2022

The staff at this hotel is just fantastic- housekeeping, front desk, restaurant and bar staff, all of them are great and very responsive. The facilities are in need of a major overhaul. The carpet is gross, the fixtures are old, the appliances are not working properly. Shower pressure was awesome though :).

Very disappointed

michaelfarzam (Santa Monica) on Jun 27, 2022

To start, I reserved 2 rooms directly with the hotel at over $500 per night per room , and specifically requested connecting rooms due to having young children under 9 year old , and paid extra for the rooms to have them guaranteed connecting per the reservation agent . Upon checking to my dismay, the rooms were not connecting and the hotel was sold out with no ability to rectify the problem, other than to offer free parking for my dissatisfaction. So I had to separate from my wife in different rooms for the entirety of the family weekend getaway. The room quality was fair and the building was worn out compared to other Hyatts I have stayed at. The USB port on the lamp was broken. Poor attention to basic amenities , as there were no coffee stirrers in the room with the coffee makers. The carpeting in the room was so filthy to the point the soles of my feet were black walking around the room within 5 minutes after getting out of the shower. I have never written a review or particularly a bad review, but was a very poor experience overall for the price we paid for a Hyatt and the service we received .

Price 5 Star - Experience 3 Star

kirstinj2018 on Jun 26, 2022

I rented the 3 bedroom villa, as I have 4 children. The space was perfect as far as how much space it had, however, those rooms haven't been updated in years, and don't really seem all that swanky for the high price of over $2100 that you charged me per night. The pool hadn't been cleaned and was pretty nasty upon arrival. It was cleaned on day 2 and was much nicer after cleaning. There was trash on the back patio near the bushes that hadn't been cleaned. The outdoor chairs were covered in bird poop and just kind of beat up to be honest & not that nice. The inside of the rooms were fine, just dated and older, for the price I paid per night I assumed it would be taking my family to really stay in something "extra" and it didn't feel all that extra. The maid service took our dirty dishes at night and then left them on the landing out by the bushes dirty & didn't replace them. We had to call 3 times to get new dishes brought to us & then the maid service did it again the second night. I can't for the life of me figure out why they would leave all the dirty dishes outside on top of the cement wall thing by the buses. I guess I just expected more. Staying at the Hyatt Regency should be luxury, and I certainly paid for luxury - but I don't feel like I got it. It felt like a 3 star hotel. The bar area was great, and the servers there were nice and very friendly and made great drinks. In the morning they also made great coffee. That was probaby the best part of the property. The breakfast was good, not great, but good - and the staff was friendly but it was clear that they were severly under staffed. Long wait times and it just looked like the poor servers were running and couldn't keep up. We reserved a fire pit and purchased a smores kit at the front desk and we thought that would be so fun to do with the kids. That was a let down as well. The Rose Garden was what was available. The couches were all ripped up and the fire place was just kinda ghetto. Once again, clearly not well taken care of or maintained. Nothing felt bougie or luxury. One nice perk was being able to check out beach chairs and towels. We did do that one of the days and visited Laguna beach - that was a nice perk. I loved that the hairdryers in the rooms were Babyliss Pro - those are really nice hairdryers and that was way better to use. So there were some things that were really nice but honestly - I feel like I paid for a 5 Star Experience and got a 3 Star Experience
