Don’t book this hotel

Do not stay here..we made the mistake of booking this hotel. Have stayed at Los Flores twice loved it but decided to come here for the all inclusive. Well it’s a joke calling it an all inclusive. We are here for 28 days and had to pay an extra 460.00 USD upon arrival. Also there are no fridges in the rooms( every other all inclusive we have ever stayed at including low end hotels have fridges) and the all inclusive were always fully stocked with beer and water. Not here. There are warm bottles of water and a coffee maker in the bathroom of all places..and you have to pay for it. There is only one pool heated on the El Moro side but beware..they make you feel like a second class citizen when they check the colour of your bracelet and tell you that you can’t use certain areas and restaurants. I’m so sad and disappointed that we are staying here. We love Mazatlan but not this hotel.
Stay Somewhere Else

Upon checkin you’re stung with an extra $15US/night “resort fee” which you must pay before they’ll give you your room. Other resorts in Mazatlan don’t charge this. Once you enter your room you’ll see 2 small bottled water and coffee that you must pay extra for. Other resorts have stocked fridges with water, pop & beer that are part of the All Inclusive package. NOT HERE!! EVEN AFTER CHARGING YOU AN EXTRA $15US PER DAY!! The A La Carte system is horrible. You must call in at 7am to make your reservation for the following evening. Even if you get thru you’ll likely be told only spots left at 1 or 2 of them and only time available is 9pm. Yet when you are inside the restaurant they are never at more than half capacity. Always empty tables inside. Should make them first come first served. The food at the main buffet at the Castilla is at best lukewarm. It is a cafeteria like atmosphere. Very loud & not relaxing. The entertainment is put on here & every night is pretty similar. Even though they say that you are not to reserve chairs & that they will remove belongings left unattended for more than an hour or two they do not. Very difficult to find a chair by pool or at the beach unless you get up early and join the crowd of chair hoarders. The rooms are dated. Particularly in the Castillo & El Moro towers. The only good thing was the great waitresses/waiters, bartenders & cleaners. All very friendly & hard working. Definitely do not recommend staying here. With the extra fees charged and lack of extras like drinks in room or being able to get into a la cartes you’d end up breaking even by spending an extra $500-$1000 to stay somewhere else.
