Wonderful resort with the best staff ever.

PeteNottinghamUK (Nottingham, United Kingdom) on Nov 16, 2025

Stayed here from 20/10 to 3/11 and as all the reviews say this is a beautiful resort with the best group of staff you could wish for. Great rooms on stilts in a tropical garden with great food. This is a smaller low key resort and all the better for it unlike the concrete boxes across the road at the RUI. Beautiful beach with a beach club for drinks and food with a member of staff to guide you across the road. We unfortunately only had 5 good days here before Melissa started to make her presence felt and everything was wound down in preparation. A category 5 hurricane is one of the scariest things you can experience but I can't thank Donna the manager and her staff enough for providing a safe place to ride it out and keep us all fed and watered. It must have been unimaginable how they felt looking after us given the uncertainty regarding their loved ones. Once over the staff began clearing up straight away and I'm sure the hotel will be up and running in no time. I would also thank Donna for chasing up the TUI reps who completely forgot we were there when sorting out evacuation flights. If she had not of chased them down we might still be there.

Our Own Cocoon

What a wonderful place! We felt like we were in our own tropical paradise, the surroundings were beautiful and well kept our accommodation suited the tropical surroundings with beautiful bird’s nesting in the trees, with a lovely big clean comfy bed and big powerful shower it was kept clean. It was our Anniversary while we were there so on arrival they had put a banner on our door which was a lovely touch Staff ! what can l say apart from they all made the place even more special nothing was too much for them always ready to help they are a credit to the hotel on arrival and throughout our stay Bianka and Jamey from concierge gave us a great welcome and was there for us throughout our stay. The food at the buffet was lovely plenty of variety with different themes every night. The a la carte had plenty of choices and was cooked to perfection, the chef’s culinary experience was great too with the chef’s showing off their skills with different dishes special mention to Jason,Tanaka,Cristina,Claudette and Tishauna who always had a service with a smile We didn’t use the pool side as we like to be by the sea, it’s a short walk across the road we had security check you in and out of the resort and stopped the traffic to get you across the road safely (thanks to Kadian,Okena, Chris and Daniel) but it didn’t matter as it’s your own private personal beach with plenty of sun beds and parasols the beach guys with so lovely they seated you where you wanted to sit and brought towels and a table we would like mention Clevon,Damion,Jovian’s, Klevon and Orlando who are a great bunch of guys they made our holiday special and had a great laugh with them. The staff at the beach bar we’re great fun always new what you wanted before you asked ?? special mention to Briteny,Odine,Shirlene,Patray, The food at the beach bar was lovely with specials every day, always cooked fresh to order special mention to chef Jadene and her team Andrice, Andricka and BB and all other staff we may have left out They have a mantra come as guests stay as friends return as family how true this is exactly how we felt Thank you for a wonderful time Kim & John

From start to finish it was all good. Book with them, you get Mobay to walk you through the lines, mitigate small issues, and assure you it's goin' to be alright. They include the transportation and it was safe and quick. The check-in is easy and painless. The rooms are just as they look online with cleaning done to perfection daily. The food is good starting with breakfast and including lunch on the beach. There is one restaurant and that's fine. Casual relaxation is the vibe. If you're thinking party, don't come. If you're a food snob don't come. If you expect shows and to be entertained, don't come. If you are looking to relax, kick back, and enjoy what God has created around you, you're in for a treat. It's Irie.

A piece of paradise

Ellie W on Nov 02, 2025

We chose Sunset at the Palms as it looked so beautiful from the pictures and wanted somewhere that was smaller and felt more boutique and 'Jamaican', it was everything we wanted and more! All the staff from the man who met us off the transfer bus, to the reception and concierge, all staff in the restaurants, bars and beach and the housekeeping and gardeners were so warm and friendly. Unfortunately I can't remember any specific names now but really everyone was so welcoming and friendly and made us feel super relaxed. The whole hotel area was beautiful, even better than the pictures! It really felt like you were in the jungle in our own piece of paradise. We loved that all the restaurants and bars were open (not generic air-conditioned rooms) and we loved the treehouse rooms especially hearing all the sounds of the jungle at night! Not being right on the beach was no problem as the road was super easy to cross with the help of the staff and gave a nice little walk each morning (the most exercise we did!) The beach area was great with lots of shade options and lovely shallow water to cool off in. Something we were a little unsure about was what the food would be like as with all-inclusive places it can be hit and miss but honestly all the buffet food was absolutely delicious - I wish we could eat there every day!! What we really liked was having the real Jamaican food at breakfast and dinner - jerk, rice and peas, saltfish and ackee, callaloo etc. The booked dinners in the a la carte restaurants were nice but to be honest, we actually thought the buffet was so nice we would happily have eaten there every day and each day there was a different theme to give variety. It's probably not the place if you want loud music and a party atmosphere but if what you want is a more authentic experience and to relax in beautiful surroundings with really good food (and very good cocktails) then Sunset at the Palms is perfect! We can't wait to come back!! Also, following hurricane Melissa we wanted to send all our love and best wishes to all the staff, their families and everyone in Negril and Jamaica and hope all are safe and well

The Perfect Experience. Ambience 10/10 Service 10/10 not a hotel.

Staff makes you feel like Family, the other guest are extended family. shoutout to Ireland, Canada, Kentucky and North Carolina. The resort is so incredible, your staying in your own jungle paradise. The rooms give so much privacy and the A/C unit is a beast when its hitting 85 and 95% humidity. For being under the canopy Lynford keeps the grounds immaculate, not a fallen stick, palm branch, or leaf. The sounds of nature and the piano man are what ppl think of when they say "Take me back". Best Sunset and Best kept Secret.
