The Best Hotel So Close to Disneyland for the Price!

Scott E (Vancouver, Washington) on Nov 26, 2025

I have stayed at most of the hotels near the Disneyland resort and somehow this was my first stay at the Dester Palms. It was very close, with only one street to cross on the way to the park and we felt safe at all times. There is a 7-11 on the corner which is convenient. There were one or two homeless in the store parking lot on occasion, which is to be expected. I read reviews giving the hotel poor marks because of a few homeless in the area, but anyone who travels to L.A. should expect to see a few homeless here or there. The ONLY way to stay in the area and not see homeless if to stay at one of the hotels on Disney property. That said, the hotel was clean and had plenty of nice touches, like the movie viewing area in the lobby for kids, a small store in the lobby, and a large refrigerator and microwave in the room. The window actually opened to let in outside air, which is very unusual. The rooms were modern and comfortable and quiet. we could hear the upstairs guests walking but not talking and we could not hear through the walls. Our daughter's family with young children stayed in the room next door and we never heard them. The hot tub was actually hot, and the pool was clean, with plenty of towels. The staff was super friendly and helpful and always seemed available to answer our questions. The one thing that made me give 4 instead of 5 stars was the breakfast, which was a full hot buffet, but a little sub-par. For the price, you will not find a better hotel this close to Disneyland.

Great all-around option for families

We stayed just about anywhere around disneyland. This hotel has the best breakfast in town. It's cool to eat and start your day looking out from the 5th floor at Disneyland. We had a beautiful room with full bunk beds with stairs going to the top bunk. The location is great with all the amenities right there. We just walked to Disneyland everyday, but in the past we've used the ART bus to go back and forth. The room was quiet and we never heard a peep while we were sleeping

Poor experience at a high price.

Was not impressed with this hotel at all. We selected this hotel because the booking site didn’t list a parking fee and because of its close proximity to the Disneyland parks. Prior to check-in, several days in fact, I had emailed to inquire about early check-in with no response. It took 3 more phone calls to finally reach someone and was told to call when I landed. I did, and was told it was ready. After my lengthy wait at check-in because only one person was running the desk, I was told they would see what they could do. When I said I called 40 minutes prior when I landed, as instructed by them, she was rude about it. We were then informed that there was a $35 per day parking fee for the few spots they had unprotected around the hotel. When I told her that there was no mention of this her response was “you need to scroll down to see it.” I scoured the listing and no mention of it. We requested extra blankets for our daughter twice and never received them. No housekeeping during our visit. The A/c worked well in the separate room either the bunk beds but not at all in the main room. Overall, for the amount we paid this was not worth it. We booked a more expensive room than some of the motel style rooms across the street from the entrance only to receive motel style service and amenities. Breakfast was good and bed was comfortable, but that was about it. I would recommend staying elsewhere with better service. They are certified as a “Good Neighbor” hotel but I don’t know how.

Affordable + Comfortable

Great hotel 12 min walk to Disney security. Free breakfast buffet with rooftop views of CA Adventure (the house made salsa was my highlight!) Q + Jose P went out of their way to make us feel right at home! Would absolutely stay here again!
