Money Taken Without Consent — Shocking Lack of Accountability

I am writing this review as a deeply disappointed guest and as a woman who was left feeling disrespected and ignored by a hotel that claims to offer premium service. Following my stay at the Westin Rancho Mirage, a charge of €515.86 was taken from my bank account without my consent. At check-out, I was clearly informed that all charges were settled. Since then, I have emailed the hotel five times and I have received no reply at all. This is not just unprofessional, it is completely unacceptable and borders on unethical. You cannot take money from someone’s account and then go silent. To make matters worse, the service at reception was appalling. As a woman travelling alone, I asked for assistance with five heavy bags, as there is no lift and the bags had to be carried down stairs. The receptionist blatantly told me, “I’m busy with paperwork,” and offered no help whatsoever. She clearly did not care about my situation, nor did she even try to find a solution. I was left to drag everything down by myself. It was upsetting, exhausting, and showed a total lack of compassion or hospitality. My advice: NEVER hand over your credit card without complete transparency, especially abroad. This has not only been a disappointing experience, but a stressful and humiliating one. I trusted this brand, and now I feel completely taken advantage of. -1 star or less and I truly hope management takes responsibility. Worse of the worse!!

Superb Hospitality

Jay and William, since front check in to in between the stay were extraordinary! Their customer service was phenomenal and how they were able to assist us with our accommodation was excellent! Will definitely be coming back with the family and hoping they are here those days! Also, James the manager was there to greet us and handled any questions we had with knowledge and clarity. Oh and thank you to those same 3 for the birthday hospitality as well. Westin, give these gentleman a raise well deserved!

Treated well for our Anniversary stay-cation

We stop at the Westin for 1 night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was June and we knew it would be hot and we had our dog with us so we wanted a dog friendly place with plenty of grass and shade. It was hot but we had a great visit. Adriana greeted us at for check in, acknowledge our status as well as our special event. We received our elite benefits but also some upgrades for our special day including champagne and fruit in our room! As a lifetime Platinum member, this was the first time we received something really special on our special occasion. I chose this hotel over a higher end one hoping for that extra attention during slow season and we got it. We had a wonderful dinner at Pinzimini. We had the place to ourselves and had great service and conversation from Maria (we think we have the right name). Christopher helped us with late check out and loved on our dog (although no one gave her treats, she got lots of pets and gives the hotel 4 paws) We had such a great visit we decided to make this our go to anniversary stay but we might try a month early due to the weather. Oh and we did our free round of duck pin bowling. We would have played pickleball early but were told there was a court fee. When we walked by it was very quiet so we could have probably gone out to play (early due to heat).

Great experience

Just arrived at the Westin for a family holiday weekend. We were greeted with mimosas while we waited to check in. Checked in at the front desk with Marlene and she was so helpful and explained all hotel amenities so thoroughly! Very, very pleased with her service and kindness! Our room is very spacious and clean.

Horrible Experience

I stayed for one day, and somehow was charged $419 more than my original total. The answer they gave was, “must’ve been a mistake on our end” no sh!t, and i’m suppose to wait a few days to see if the money gets refunded ? Yea no thank you, filling fraud right now, and will make sure this review gets posted on all formats for customers to be aware of random charges to your credit card. Literally checked in at 7pm and checked out the next morning by 10 am and spend close to $1000 on a 1 bedroom. Something told me to go somewhere else and i just should’ve listen to my gut, besides that, the room smelled like bleach, the food we stuck in the fridge tasted like bleach, and the linen felt wet to the touch, like moisture. horrible stay.
