Needs some work…

StellaStyle (Vancouver BC) on May 22, 2026

Attended a multi-day conference here. My ground floor room was clean. I requested a ground floor unit, as this property does not have an elevator. Check-in: Arrived at noon, ahead of the official 4pm check-in. Rooms were not ready until 6pm for most of the conference group, two full hours past standard check-in. Conference catering: During networking they served beef and potato canapés that were cold and appeared to come straight from the freezer. At the conference lunch, glassware had visible water marks and did not look clean. At a property at this price point, these details matter. In-room phone: No labels on the phone. Zero and nine both went nowhere. Ended up using the Marriott Bonvoy app chat, which worked but had delayed responses. What is the point of the phone if it is not functional. What worked: Fireside Lounge staff and front desk were warm. The property offers complimentary 3 hour bike rentals and access to the driving range, which I did not get to use. You can borrow clubs with the valet .

Poop looking stuff comes out of jet at pool when swimming

Casey S on May 16, 2026

We booked the Westin Rancho Mirage for Mother’s Day weekend and our anniversary specifically so we could spend a relaxing weekend at the pool with our family. Instead, the experience became one of the most upsetting resort stays we’ve had. While actively swimming in the La Paloma pool with our children, a large amount of brown material suddenly blasted out of a pool jet directly in front of us and spread into the water. It genuinely looked like sewage or waste coming into the pool. We immediately got out along with other guests and attempted to get answers from staff, but no one could clearly explain what had happened or reassure us that the pool was safe. Because of that, we no longer felt comfortable using ANY of the resort pools for the rest of our stay — which completely ruined the primary reason we booked this resort in the first place. We left extremely disappointed and honestly sad that our Mother’s Day and anniversary trip turned into stress and discomfort instead of a relaxing family vacation. Three days later, I also became extremely sick, which only added to the concern surrounding the incident. Management later emailed us claiming it was “filter media sand” from a backwash issue and not waste. They waived our parking and resort fees, but considering we essentially lost use of the main amenity we paid to enjoy, that did not feel like an appropriate resolution. We respectfully reached out requesting either compensation for the room or the opportunity to return for a future stay so we could actually experience the resort the way we intended to. We never even received a response. For a resort at this price point and under the Westin/Marriott name, the handling of this situation and the lack of customer care afterward was incredibly disappointing.

Excellent customer service

Michelle G (California) on May 15, 2026

I had several interactions with a wide range of staff members from waiters, operations, tech. Each member were very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, professional with a positive attitude. Whatever training program you have is working. A big shout out to Adrian in the bar/lounge restaurant who got me in and out quickly as I requested. Great service!!

Awful Greens On The Golf Course

Simon S on Apr 12, 2026

This review relates to golf and unfortunately a highly unsatisfactory and disappointing experience. Every single green on the course has been destroyed with virtually no grass covering and having to put on turf. When booking direct with the hotel no mention was made of the diabolical state of the greens which frankly should be an embarrassment considering all the high class golf in the area. The fairways were decent being the only positive. Bitterly disappointed I wasted a days golfing here and the course should not be offering public green fees the state it is in.
