Family vacation

Arrived here pretty disappointed once I realized how a lot of the restaurants worked and we couldn’t even celebrate anything. We didn’t even sing to my boyfriend even once and that was the whole purpose of this trip for him. We came in a group and were told we could just get in line for buffet after the rude reservation receptionists brushed us off more than once. My safe didn’t even work. There’s stains all over my curtains with a leak in my roof. The pool was so hot and filthy with no type of filtration going on. It was a whole hot mess. The room view was probably the only thing that made it worth it. But I had to upgrade myself for that. But then we met Alberto Sandoval who changed our entire experience around and made us feel a lot better after getting a better explanation of how amenities and food worked there. He took care of us with patience and kindness. He’s the only reason this hotel is even getting 4 stars. Not the first Meliá I’ve stayed at but it was going to be the last until we came across Alberto. This hotel needs more receptionist like him. he helped us book a spot for Fish House last minute and we got to eat good food that night. After the reservation desk ladies lied to us and said there was none even opened. She told us to just go to the long line for a buffet spot. Since there’s only two restaurants, getting a reservation was hard as it was. The workers at the buffet have an even worse attitude and service, there was literally only a handful of workers that were kind to us and it wasn’t like we didn’t tip. The keycard to our room stoped working since day 1 and it would always take us over 2 min to open the door. But anyways, Thank you to Alberto for caring more than any of the managers or receptionist there. the manager was just as dismissive. So reaching out to them didn’t do anything at all.
Very good food and well taken care of

The hotel had very good food as opposed to what you think if an “all inclusive”. We were there early for lunch and dinner so didn’t experience long lines at the buffet and I only saw a waiting list for breakfast but never for dinner. The hotel and rooms are good and well taken care of as is the pool. The beach is a bit “stoney “ ( the beach next door is more sandy) and is not closed so you can go for long walks by the beach if you like. If you want to walk outside in the afternoon you have the marina with some coffee shops, stores and restaurants. I only wish they had bigger/comfier “cabana” stayle beds for the beach. Going with babies are way more comfortable than the tiny standard sunbeds.
