disappointed Cons The rooms are not 5 stars but rather 2 stars, there are also 5 star rooms but for those you have to be lucky to catch them or threaten them with the ANPC The restaurant is very outdated (lobby 1 and 2) not to mention the smell that greets you when you enter the restaurant (it smells like sewage) The food is varied but I personally dont like it (i only ate pizza, omelette, and simple salads) You can serve coffee at the machines which is OK, but also in the restaurant but it tastes horrible The cleanliness leaves something to be desired, they only change your towels, there is no vacuum cleaner and as far as I can tell The Wi-Fi only works in some places Pros The view is beautiful
Terrible family Christmas vacation.

The worst all inclusive resort I have been in my life. Resort needs complete remodeling. Furniture very old and outdated. Hotel rooms very dirty- dust never cleaned under the beds, moldy bathrooms. Main buffet smells like sewer. Food was just ok. Beach very small and can't accommodate all the guests.People were running 7 am to reserve the chairs which I thought it was totally ridiculous. Any problems we addressed they pretend they don't understand English. We have traveled all over the world and never seen anything like it. People Pictures on the website look perfect. When you get there it is a different story. Terrible disappointment.
Nice Place but….

Visited Bahia Principe Ambar a few years ago and loved it so returned and stayed at Grand this time Firstly, the positives Staff - generally very good, very friendly, very helpful, no issues at all Room - clean, spacious, well furnished, again, no issues at all Buffet restaurants - went every breakfast time, every lunchtime and some evenings. Food was varied, good quality, and never had a problem finding something good to eat. Only had two issues. At lunchtime, it was often very difficult to find someone to get you a glass of water which contrasted massively with breakfast when you could barely take a sip of coffee before someone was offering to top you up. Other issue is that the smaller of the two (can’t remember the individual names) did often smell of the drains as others have said A la carte restaurants - the ones we visited were very, very good. Tip - make all your bookings on the first day and amend as you go along. The teppanyaki restaurant was amazing - both table service and sat around the hot plate - so good that we cancelled a booking in another a la carte and rebooked there. Did the same with El Olivo - very good food. The other one we visited was the Asian fusion restaurant which, again, was very good The train - it’s such a big site that the train is a godsend. Don’t worry if a full one passes you by, another one will soon be along Now. The negatives. Sadly, they were quite impactful for us Mosquitos - dear god they were horrific. Never experienced anything like it. So many people covered in so many bites. I’ve been to other resorts around the world where they spray the greenery at dusk and have citronella candles burning and the mosquitoes are not a problem. Here? Nothing. Add to the fact all the greenery in the lobbies and one of them basically had a swamp by the side of the buffet restaurant. There was absolutely no escape from them. Sunbeds - absolute and utter joke. The main pool down by the beach is the major attraction and it’s brilliant during the day. Signs posted everywhere saying that you can’t reserve sunbeds. Forget it. If you’re not down there by 7.30am you have no chance of a bed. Now, that is fine if people actually turn up but you’ll find that some people won’t then turn up until mid afternoon. What do the staff do? The square root of absolutely f*ck all. Nada. Nothing. Not interested. So many arguments. If towels are still on sunbeds at 10am and nobody has appeared the staff should remove them. Ask them and absolutely nothing happens. Overall. Enjoyed the holiday because the place and the weather were good. Will I go back? No!! Until they do something about the mosquitoes and the sunbed issue it’s just not worth the hassle or the money. Such a shame that simple things can spoil it

We had our annual reunion at the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana. We did enjoy our time together, however the name ‘Grand’ is a misnomer. The rooms could do with an upgrade. The bathrooms did not feel clean, the caulking had black discoloration along the edge of the bath tub. The food left much to be desired. We had to use bug repellent everyday since the property was mosquito infested. The Brazilian restaurant, Tequila had decent food. However, the Indian restaurant Thali was not up to the mark. Negatives: Lengthy Check in time Difficulty getting reservations for dinner Quality of buffet food items and restaurant not great Mosquitoes Positives: Decent entertainment Beautiful beach and property

I hate to give bad reviews but i want you to know something. The main buffet in bahia principe grand punta cana it stinks really bad that could make a person really sick. The rooms smell moldy and musky. Too many mosquitos is the room. The food in the italiano restaurant is delicious. The people that clean the rooms are lazy. The reception área the employee are doing there job.
