The breakfast buffet is a mess with only 1 omlette station with line up of 25 people at a time. Everyone orders for 2 - 3 people to save time. Major issue for breakfast. No food at the beach area so disappointing an absolute intentional money grap in order to get guests to upgrade. The bar at the beach is with 3 people inside but only 1 barman serving with line ups sometimes upto 10- 15 people. U dont tip well u dont get good drink. We tried intentionally both. Flashing the tip money before ur drink helps u to get better service otherwise expect distasteful drinks. The a la carte don Pablo is a banger. So good so delicious with better service. The kids club is a major plus for people with kids and teens. We were there with a 6 and 10 yr old kids. Absolutely ?? amazing. Girls at the kids club and teens club Azul, Jessel, Ami, Cynthia, Yuli, Mariana and many others are doing everything to keep the kids and teens happy. I 100% recommend families with kids and teens. If you wanna take a few hrs off from ur kids and teens while being confident that your kids and teens are having fun and are in good hands then this is the place. The guy who starts lobby bar in the morning is always in a bad mood. Avoid going to the lobby bar for any drinks before lunch time. The coffee section in the lobby , there are 3 ladies who I caught mocking the guests who were seemingly with veil and Muslims. Thats a major no no, to the point that I wanted to say he stop and serve me my fking coffee and let me go, but u know I am on vacation minding my own business and dont want anything to ruin my day. The urban and the circus shows are huge and very entertaining. Make sure to not miss them. The terrace shows could be better as it usually does karaoke with people not wanting to sing and if they do, then they try for the first time and for the adventure of it, very annoying as audience listening to strangers murdering the good songs. Going to the beach is not a problem there is always a train and these gulf cars going every 10to 15 mins. The alcohols are watered down expect suboptimal drinks. The beer is ugh and they dont serve modelo or Victoria beers. Rooms are spacious clean and comfy however alittle outdated and moldy smell. We were OK coz we didnt spend much time in the rooms except for showers and sleep. Tip: met a couple who booked coba for 2 weeks like 2.5 grand cheaper than akumal and tulum but they upgraded to pink bracelets like for 550$ so they could hang out anywhere in the resort. Such a great idea for people who wanna save but have the same services in the entire resort. I dont know if i wanna return to the resort. it depends on the deal and price but I definitely know based on reviews and research that u can have better options elsewhere with flexible dates. I hope coba renovates and fixes some major issues involving money grap techniques when it comes to bars and restaurants services. Thats ultimately the guests experience maker or breaker.
12 day family vacation at Bahia Principe Grand Coba

Our family had a great time staying at the Grand Coba. Like others have mentioned the room is a bit dated but overall its clean and sufficient. Bathroom was really nice. The daily buffet options do get tiring but there are so many options its easy to keep it fresh. We enjoyed the raw fish, yogurts, and salad options after exhausting all of the typical western choices. The poolside activities and games provided by the entertainment staff were really fun. Hanna, Haziel, Alejandro, Antonio, Jonathan, and Eder were really interactive, funny, and professional. The nightly shows were beyond what I expected. Really enjoyable. There are even earlier shows that our kids got involved with. We attended the Saturday evening Fiesta Mexicana which was really well done. Fun games for the kids and great musical performances. Also, a nice selection of food. Our family did the Aventuras Mayas cenote excursion with Amstar. It was amazing. Our guide Miguel was great and our family really enjoyed the experience. We ate at 5 of the a la carte restaurants. My favorite being Don Pablo. They were all great experiences but my least favorite was Portofino. Mikada teppenyaki was really fun. Tequila restaurant was really good. Make sure you book these 10 days before your trip on the Bahia Principe app.
