We stayed at Grand Coba and our experience was just AMAZING! No complaints. Food is amazing, the buffet restaurant has an enormous variety of options, everything so tasty. The la cart restaurants experience was delicious, 10 out 10. Our room was well nice cleaned everyday, - A L L resort areas was well clean and well maintained. Staff that knows how to be professional, polite and charismatic making your stay problem free. Can't wait to go back.
Keep up the great reputation

I was in Coba for my 50th and my daughter's 25th birthday. We were also travelling with a 5 yr old. The kid's club was phenomenal. They had activities planned out all day and kept me up to date with pictures which I loved. Azul is such a sweetheart, amazing with kid's. I'm definitely not a picky eater so the food for me was more than I could have imagined. So much variety that I didn't eat the same thing twice. Rooms were extremely spacious. Beds a little on the harder side (for me). Ac worked and fridge was stocked daily. I visited the Tulum and Akumal resort and besides the kids Waterpark in Tulum (which was excellent) I preferred Coba for its more family like atmosphere. Workers were super friendly and helpful when needed. Entertainment was very good. I looked forward to the live music every night. Beaches were unfortunately a big disappointment for me. Lots of seaweed and rocks, both which I know are out of human control. There was never a lack of sun chairs just a lack of finding chairs with shade after 10am. Pools were the biggest disappointment and not just at Coba, but all the resorts. Water was hotter than a bath and being a hot and humid climate, a colder pool to cool down in would have been awesome. Overall, the stay was very good for us and I would definitely recommend Bahia as a safe, clean and fun place to visit.
Disappointed in Service and Hygiene

What was meant to be a special mother-daughter getaway—our first trip with just the two of us—turned out to be a stressful and disappointing experience due to a series of serious issues related to safety, service, cleanliness, and communication. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that the main reception area had been relocated to the kids' club due to a recent fire. This setup was chaotic, with little to no seating available. Guests, including myself, were left standing in long lines, some with children, strollers, and luggage. This was not communicated prior to our arrival. Despite requesting a ground floor room in my reservation, I was placed on the top floor on the opposite side of the resort. After advocating for a change, I was informed I would have to wait for housekeeping to prepare a different room—still on the top floor. No assistance was provided with my bags, so I carried three pieces of luggage, a stroller, and my toddler up three flights of stairs by myself. This same lack of assistance was present at checkout, despite calling for a bellboy. The resort's organization was extremely poor. Even basic logistics like booking an excursion or airport shuttle required being transported to a different hotel, involving long waits in the heat for multiple shuttles. It was unnecessarily complex and uncomfortable. The food quality at the buffet was disappointing—bland and frequently overcooked. Worse, both my daughter and I became ill with food poisoning after dining at the Tulum Tex-Mex restaurant. Our room was also unhygienic, with dirty sheets even after turndown service. The waterpark—one of the main reasons I chose your resort—was deeply disappointing. Parents were not permitted to accompany children on the slides, which is extremely impractical for those with young kids. I sustained a painful knee injury on the concrete slide base, unaware of this restriction. The explanation that the surface is made of concrete “for safety” is concerning, as there was insufficient water to cushion the impact. I witnessed several children hurt themselves in a similar way. The response from staff, especially the lifeguards, was careless. I was told to return the next morning to have my wound cleaned. When I did, I was met with sarcasm rather than care, being told “it will get clean when you shower and the water washes over your wound.” Additionally, communication regarding bookings was lacking. I was not informed that reservations for dining must be made through the resort’s app—something that should have been communicated well in advance. As a result, it was nearly impossible to book meals or other services. In terms of rest, our experience was far from peaceful. I called the front desk multiple times due to loud noise in the stairwells past 1 a.m. on several nights. The early mornings weren’t much better, as the noise from birds outside was extreme (earplugs are essential). Most disappointing was the general lack of attention from restaurant staff. Throughout the stay, we were consistently overlooked. I frequently had to retrieve my own drinks and was told by a bartender that I had to place an order through a server—none of whom ever came by our table. However, I would like to commend one staff member: Miguel from the buffet area, who was the only person who made us feel welcomed. He was kind, attentive, and genuinely engaging with my daughter, even gifting her a small turtle toy that she truly cherishes. Miguel was a bright spot in an otherwise disheartening experience, and I hope his efforts are recognized. In summary, I cannot recommend this resort based on our experience, and I am extremely disappointed given the investment I made in what was supposed to be a memorable, enjoyable trip.
I'd go there again and we recommend it for sure.

Over all experience AWESOME! Details... A clean room and a fairly new resort. Resort was well kept and clean. The security staff was ever vigilant which we all appreciate. (some hotel entrances are guarded by armed security! Thanks!) It feels secure and safe to be there. A family resort as there are many kids activities there and we saw many children. All hotel staff were friendly and respectful. Lot of food options and very tasty. Lot of fun activities at the resort, Yoga, Aquacise etc., which we enjoyed. Lot of fun evening activities which we mostly avoided (two old people needing their rest :) ) Staff was friendly and chill. (Relax you're on a vacation!) The resort grounds are spacious and beautiful to walk through every day. We did. We don't care to waste our time on a beach/pool lounge chair so we can't comment. The beach itself is mainly rocky with a small area with sand. We can't stand just loafing on a beach, but the snorkeling is great. Lot of sea creatures to watch for free! In this resort you can be as busy as you want and as secluded and relaxed as you want. If you are interested in any excursions the resort also has many options to choose from. We took a trip to the Coba Ruins with Rio Secreto exploration and a trip to the Tulum Ruins and a snorkeling expedition. We highly recommend them too. Outside of the resort people can hop on the "Colectivo" bus that will take them to Playa del Carmen. The service is cheap reliable and safe. You get to ride with local Mexicans on their own terms. It was a blast for us (just check on you-tube about the colectivo buses before you do it). Also VERY IMPORTANT!!! As in any industry you can have jerk staff and jerk customers. Make sure that you are NOT the jerk customer. You will reap what you sow! The staff at the hotels are hospitality professionals, the are NOT your slaves! Treat others as you would want to be treated.
Great service and atmosphere

The main lobby of the hotel is spacious and authentic for their culture. It’s just beautiful. The room was in a typical Mexico vintage style which I loved. The staff cleaned our room every day including refilling the mini bar, which was lovely. However the building we stayed in 16b was not in a great condition. The stairs need some renovation.
