The property felt magical from the moment we walked through the doors. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. If you’re looking for a cozy yet elevated experience in an amazing location just steps from Union Square, this is absolutely the place to stay. It’s also one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The on-site restaurant, Tratto, makes dining incredibly convenient—whether it’s enjoying complimentary coffee in the morning or complimentary wine during happy hour.

I had never been to the Marker prior to this visit. But from the elegant decor to the kind faces waiting inside, the first impression was beautiful. We met Dahli at the front desk who worked magic and provided some extra assistance we needed, all while filling us in on the amazing activities that would be happening in the lobby during our stay, and great places to eat. During the following day my friend and I explored Union square and the Marker is in the perfect location for exploring and then coming back to relax in. I brought a book down and cozied up next to a stunning fireplace and spent the afternoon lost in a story. That evening they had Dickens era Carolers and a phenomenal show with Katya. The first time you walk in the door the you’re struck by the stunning and elegant space, the lovely scent on the air, and the kindness of the staff. To top it off it’s not too pricey for such a great location, the restaurant next door is stellar, and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. It was like stepping into a different world much different than the business on the San Francisco streets outside. I hope the Marker is always here for future visits because after this first experience, I can’t see myself ever staying somewhere else.

I love The Marker! I stay here every time I come to San Francisco. It’s so centrally located near Union square and they have a lot of amenities I enjoy like complimentary coffee in the morning, ice machines, free water bottles, etc. Rooms are very clean and the entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return!
