Plumbing issues

We had plumbing issues from day 1. Toilet backed up, bath tub/shower didn't drain well. Engineering came up twice when we couldn't manage on our own. Most of this seems trivial but a functioning bathroom should be expected. I was with 2 children with autism who after multiple issues with the bathroom would rather hold it until they reached a functioning public restroom. That should never happen. I tried to upgrade but the hotel was full and when I asked about changing rooms the next day instead of helping me then I was told to come back. I should have been moved at the first issue with the room on the day we checked in when the hotel wasn't full. This is a lovely hotel and although we had serious issues we would stay here again.

VERY disappointed!

I will never stay here again!! First, there is no concierge, only the front desk people who know little about the city and couldn't make any suggestions or recommendations. I asked for a map of the city, and well, oh, so sorry, we are out of them. "They'll be in tomorrow," but tomorrow never arrived after four days. I requested that our room be cleaned, only to discover the cleaner lost my granddaughter's bracelet. When I complained, the first person wrote all the details on a 1" X 1" post-it note and I never heard back. When I complained at check out, I was told "the maids never touch anything," Then I was told he'd "check with the manager," and then I was told, oh, sorry, he just got in. NEVER resolved, NEVER apologized, NEVER refunded anything! At 6:30AM, they were out of coffee and out of sugar, and it took 1/2 hour for the coffee to appear. Lots of little frustrations add up to one terrible stay! If only someone had apologized or even pretended to care....

Could Be Better

This hotel does need some updates. The location is good but it definitely needs more amenities as well. The carpet in the room was old and the restaurant/bar only operates at certain days and times making it inconvenient for travelers who do not come in at those times. Just make sure you conduct additional research as the price does not reflect what you pay for.

Was expecting more

Hotel is beautiful, very typical for downtown SF hotels. Our room was nicely decorated, nice appeal when we saw it for the first time. However, the tub had a big stain around the drain that we immediately brought to their attention. They agreed to move us to another room the next day. We never heard from them again. Upon checking out I brought it to their attention again including pictures of the problem. They said we were "probably not offered another room because the hotel was fully booked". Were they fully booked or not? I asked why no one followed up with me and he said de didn't know why. We were very disappointment in the response and lack of follow up. They refunded us the daily hotel fee and as much as we appreciated the $100 refund, left disappointed with our stay otherwise this would have been easily a 4.5 to 5 star review.

Very poor service

Our room was never cleaned. When we called the front desk to ask them if they could clean our room (as we were told when we checked in) they were very rude and kept telling us they would not clean it. After some time, they told us it was possible to have it cleaned. When we came back after 9 hours it still had not been cleaned. We called the front desk and they told us that there was nothing they could do. The other important thing is the parking. We spoke with two people, one was really nice but the other one was extremely rude and made us pay extra for the parking without giving an explanation. The room was nice but too expensive. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.
