Excellent

Restaurantcriticnot (Chandler’s Ford, United Kingdom) on Jul 11, 2024

We had a family stay in 2 rooms in July 24. The rooms were clean and roomy and well equipped. Lovely toiletries in the shower which smelt good. Beds were a good size and very comfortable . Restaurant on site was really good and the option for free tea and coffee in the morning was a real bonus. We had breakfast in the hotel on 2 mornings and dinner 1 night . I had read about all the homelessness around the hotel and was concerned before the trip but in reality no issues and it was safe on our visit. There is homelessness across the city but no worse in the area by hotel to union square.

A Delightful Stay at The Marker San Francisco

Jimmy S on Jul 09, 2024

My experience at The Marker San Francisco was fantastic. The combination of elegant design, excellent service, and prime location makes it a top choice for anyone visiting the city. I look forward to returning on my next trip to San Francisco!

Not safe for street parking.

Walker R on Jun 30, 2024

Parking cost $75 per night, with tax that comes out to around $90 every night. Paying almost $100 a night and valet isn't available 24 /7. If you have an early flight, your basically screwed. Find other parking places nearby for half the cost.

Terrible booking and check in

YaniP240 (Washington DC, District of Columbia) on Jun 18, 2024

I booked a room via my company's corporate booking tool and, the night before my reservation date, I was told by a colleague that I might want to check on my booking with the hotel because their booking had been mysteriously cancelled, and they had to make a second (replacement) booking. I called and - sure enough - I was told my original booking had been cancelled. My initial reaction was to blame our corporate booking system because I hate it so much, but then we arrived at the hotel and, upon asking if we could check in early (around 11am), we were told each of us had TWO bookings EACH. Turns out our original reservations were not actually cancelled. We couldn't check in early, so we went to our office and returned at 4pm. Check in time is 3pm. At that time, I was told there were no rooms ready for me yet due to a previous group's late check out. It was then suggested to me that I wait IN MY COLLEAGUE'S room while they attempted to get a room ready for me. I found this suggestion incredibly inappropriate. I was then given 2 coupons for free drinks at the lobby bar... which was not open yet. After having traveled since 3am Eastern time, and needing to prepare for a 5:30pm Pacific time dinner, being told that I could not check in at 4pm Pacific (one hour after designated check in time) was extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable to me, especially as someone with a disability that requires access to a private space to address medical concerns. Following check out, I did not receive a copy of my receipt, and when I called to ask for it to be sent to me again, the agent was somehow unable to locate my reservation AGAIN. I also later found out that my colleague's room was missing its fire evacuation map, which is an obvious safety and compliance violation. While The Marker LOOKS very nice, and there are certain design details I liked, the overall experience was far below par than what I would expect from a boutique-type hotel. I would not choose to stay at The Marker again.
