Excellent! Location is great and very friendly staff!

My stay at The Marker was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and hospitable. I didn’t get the “California laid back” vibe from them at all. My stay came with 2 complementary bottles of wine because I booked through Expedia and was a silver member (I believe), no one in my family drinks so they were kind enough to replace it with local popcorn, which was delicious. We enjoyed the free coffee in the lobby every morning and the library area was a great third space to get some work done and people watch. Originally, booking in Union Square gave me anxiety considering its proximity to Tenderloin, however all went well. I would look on a map before walking aimlessly and planning your route to avoid certain streets. The hotel is safe. During the weekend there was a protest going on at a nearby hotel that was pretty loud but a day later it was no longer there and the hotel was very quiet for being downtown. The rooms were cozy and I enjoyed being able to refill my water bottle at various water stations. I love booking boutique hotels as opposed to big chains and this one was well worth the book! We were also able to check our luggage for a few hours on our last day since our flight wasn’t until night time. Also 12 pm checkout is pretty late compared to other places which is a perk. Thank you to kind staff that made our stay possible.

We had such a wonderful stay! The location in Union Square was perfect—close to everything and so convenient for exploring the city. The customer service at the front desk was incredible; everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful. We also had an amazing dinner at the adjoining Italian restaurant—the made-from-scratch pasta was absolutely delicious! We loved the complimentary glass of wine during happy hour for hotel guests, too. Such a fun and thoughtful touch. The hotel itself has such a cozy, inviting atmosphere, especially the lobby with the fireplace. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day in the city. Great location, wonderful service, delicious food, and so much charm. We will definitely be back!

Very nice location, walking distance to Union Square. Claßen atmosphere . The room was nice, spacious and clean. We gad an issue with smoking in the next room and the staff was very helpful and we got even a discount due to the inconveniences, really great service. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice and central hotel in SFO.

Want to give a shoutout to Melinda at Front Desk for a warm welcome. She acted instinctively and gave a pack of almond crunch popcorn to my girlfriend when I mentioned it was her birthday. A great hotel and a great location to stay.
