Very dated. Definitely a budget hotel.

248whitneyk (Orlando, Florida) on Jun 15, 2024

We had to move here from another hotel that was not fully air conditioned so we didn't have a lot of choices. First, I will say that by U.S. standards, this is a budget hotel. Good- the rooms were clean and the staff was attentive and helpful. Parking was easy and the grounds were well kept. The air conditioning kept us cool and comfortable. It is obviously a very old hotel and unfortunately it is in really need of upgrades. We paid for a junior executive suite hoping for some added comfort but just got a larger kitchen that you really couldn't prepare food in. Not so good - There was a paddle fan in the room but it only had one speed... Super fast! The water pressure in the shower is nil and I had an extremely hard time getting my hair rinsed out. The hot water takes awhile to get there, and when it does, the temperature is very hard to control. The jalosey windows let in heat and noise. The live music they bring in goes to well after 10:00 and it's loud. The main pool was closed several days when we were there. We wanted to wash clothes mid week, but the dryer was broken. And although we had the "do not disturb" sign in the door, the maid came in to change towels. We did visit the beach resort which seemed much nicer. I wish we had seen that first.

Dated but clean and cordial, except for items that went missing from my room.

I stayed at the resort many years ago but decided to stay at the hotel because it was closer to my conference venue. Although the property is a bit dated, it is charming. I reserved a one-bedroom suite, which was roomy, with great AC and shower. The breakfasts were average, with my favorite being on Sunday. My only problem is that something is missing from my room. I searched and searched when I realized that some jewelry was missing; I even called home to confirm I hadn't left it there. When I alerted the manager, I was reminded that the hotel isn't responsible for stolen items. I should have mentioned this right away when I noticed that my balcony gate was unlatched and the patio door unlocked. I locked my passport and valuables, including my computer, in the safe daily. This item was in the handbag I had carried on the plane. I didn't even realize it was gone until two days after my arrival. I arrived exhausted from travel and went straight out to eat. I ensured all doors and the gate were locked before I departed. But when I returned, the fence was unlatched, and the back door was open. The manager plans to investigate tomorrow; even if I didn't report the door and latch being open that first night because I was so tired, it is unfortunate that management chose to offer critique instead of resolution. This was not the best customer service. Otherwise, the service was friendly, and the front desk and housekeeping were cordial.
