This hotel made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well run. The staff all seem to be happy to work there. The views are stunning as the hotel is located at the top of a steep hill overlooking a beautiful wooded area with views of the sea beyond that. The food is unpretentious but delicious with something for all tastes. It's possible to eat healthily or, if you prefer, to be more hedonistic. The hotel is quiet and it's difficult to walk anywhere because the roads outside the hotel are very hilly and don't always have pavements. But the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach and Castries. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning was great and needed at night as the temperature doesn't drop much after nightfall. There is entertainment at the hotel during the day and evening, organised by Jahfree who's very informative about the island. We got to know several staff members by name and, despite having only 10 days there they felt like friends.

Stayed at the Bel Jou hotel for 10 nights. A great experience, fantastic staff, great food and general facilities. Out room was an ocean view room, very clean with all the facilities you would expect. Regular shuttle service in Castries and the beach is a bonus, you can walk but the roads are very steep and little to no pavements. Overall the island of St Lucia is a must visit, the people friendly and plenty to explore.

My husband & I took a short trip to reset. This place was a disappointment. It is a 9a-5p/10a-6p place. There is no 24 hr staff except security ( who slept in the booth). As an ALL Inclusive resort water was only available at a cost. There is a kettle in the room with instant coffee packets and tea bags but no water to make any of it. (I don't use the tap water). And if you need that early morning cup, you must wait until 7am when the buffet opens. Some staff were selectively accommodating, from observation it depended on the patron's nationality. Don't waste your time in the Hummingbird restaurant, eat at the buffet for dinner. There is a limited selection but the food has flavor. Their definition of a 'coffee shop' is a self-serve place with a coffee pot, hot water dispenser, tea bags/sugar & a fridge with milk AND this place is opened from 10a-6p. One night there was a manager's cocktail; the lead staff introduced themselves but left right away. There was no chance to speak to any of them. We had ants in our room and it was addressed as soon I brought it to the attention of the front desk staff. I would never return nor would I recommend this resort. The resort has potential but they need new management.

Very nice resort for couples that are going for relaxation. We enjoyed how quiet the resort was. The pools were refreshing and few people swam in them when we were there. Lots of sun beds and beach chairs. It was not crowded. The food was excellent and there was a variety every day. The drinks were amazing and strong. The resort is well managed and everything runs smoothly. They address any issues quickly. Every staff member has a smile on their face and they go out of their way to help. The rooms are spacious, both the bungalows and the rooms that face the ocean. Go to Vige Beach. It’s amazing! The free hotel shuttle takes you there and I wish that we would have gone every day. The beach is sandy, even when going into the water. It was perfect for swimming. The resort provides free beach chairs and there’s shade under the trees. I would definitely go back again!
