Glad I went, but will

When we booked this trip, we were excited to see all of the wonderful reviews. Foremost, it is a very small very quiet resort that caters to those that want a relaxing experience- which is exactly what we wanted. That said, having traveled to many resorts, I thought it was important to alert those considering going to some of the things that we experienced. *room coffee is instant. A kettle is provided. *bottled water is an upgrade- for a few *there are no small snack options until 9pm - meals only. *lunch and dinner buffet is limited in options…repeats regularly *some alcohol is an upgrade *we experienced lack of hot water in our room for showering - the matter was reconciled upon request *drink service is about 75% walk to the bar, meals are all served *we saw what appeared to be a lot of recycled options. Items at dinner the previous day often appeared again in the buffet the next. We made the most of it, and really did enjoy great weather, in a clean (but dated) facility. The trip to and from the airport is about an hour, on challenging roads. The shuttle drivers had my trust. Wine and alcoholic drinks were well poured and there were more than enough options for my wife and I. So, to sum up, if you want peace and quiet, and food is not a priority-this may be the spot for you. For us, the menu(s) were rinse and repeat each day and it became difficult to look forward to each meal by mid-week. I heard this from a number of the folks we met on this journey.
A gem of a hotel on the beautiful island of St Lucia

This is a gem of a hotel. Everything is 1st class and the staff cannot do enough to give you an enjoyable holiday. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. The food is cooked fresh with lots of variety. The hotel runs themed cuisine nights (Asian, Indian, Italian, Creole) and the Al la carte Hummingbird restaurant is a must. We were here for Christmas and New Year and the staff pulled out all the stops to make it a special time. Dean, the general manager is very hands on and supportive of all the staff. Special mentions must go to Dana and Jem on reception, Andrea, Princess, Shawnelle, Kisha, Janet and Mandrina in the restaurant, Quincy from maintenance, Junior who helped with our luggage, Javier, Jevron, Carla and Joule Cooks, Jeanhim on tge bar, Merliva from Housekeeping , Tiniki from Lulu's cabana and finally, not forgetting the every present, ever busy Jahfree who kept us fit and entertained. I cannot recommend this hotel and it's fantastic staff enough and we would definitely stay again. Thank you to everyone x
