Me and my husband had the best time ever. We had our destination wedding at Sandels Halcyon Beach, St Lucia. They went above and beyond to make this day special and memorable. A big thank you to Shadulla and Mikey and their whole team for the effort and amazing work, support and dedication to make our day as special as possible! We had an incredible photographer that did such an amazing job and captured every moment and detail, the pictures came out so beautifully. The Resort is a peace of heaven on earth, super clean, beautiful, and the food was amazing. Everything is very nice and friendly and they truly make sure for you to have the best vacation and experience ever! Big Thank you to everyone. Would one hundred percent recommend this place to visit and if you are looking for a destination wedding this is the place to go!
What I wish I knew before I stayed at Sandals Halcyon in a Crystal Lagoon Poolside Luxury.

My husband and I just stayed for 10 days in St. Lucia for our honeymoon. My husband has never been out of the country before and we’ve both never stayed at an all-inclusive resort so we didn’t truly know what to expect. The short review is, we had a FANTASTIC time. It’s a beautiful island and a beautiful resort, a true piece of paradise. However, these were our takeaways. For the good: 1. We don’t have a history of traveling so we opted into doing fast track with a private transfer to and from the airport. We were very happy with our decision to do this. Although it isn’t necessary, it was extremely helpful when you get off the plane in a new country, without any idea of where to go, after a long day of traveling and anxiety. We went through Atlantic Stables and they were great. If you do it, sign up for the departure lounge. It was much better to sit on a couch, in an air conditioned room than in a humid airport with a good amount of people. 2. We opted into doing two excursions, both through Sandals. We did the Soufrie Luxury Private Tour and the Piton Snorkel and Sunset Cruise. We were very happy with our excursion choices. We wanted to have a day to explore the island and liked having the ability to modify the tour itinerary to fit what we wanted to do. The only downfall was the lunch provided. I’m lactose intolerant and couldn’t eat the majority of my lunch, which was disappointing. 3. Speaking of my allergy, the food at Halcyon was amazing. Once sitting down, the staff asked about allergies. I would tell them I’m lactose sensitive and they would make sure that my entire meal was lactose sensitive. 90% of the resorts desserts weren’t lactose sensitive so the chef made me a lactose free dessert, EVERY NIGHT! I was so impressed with this feature as I can never get dessert, it was such an amazing treat! 4. The staff at Halcyon are AMAZING! Everyone that I met was friendly, willing to help out and always asking what you need. I want to give a special shout out to Kareem from the Irie bar and Olivia from Mario’s. These two go above and beyond for the guests, are extremely genuine and kind, while exceeding our expectations. Patrick, Lesean and Adam from entertainment were fantastic. They got my husband and I involved when he was a bit hesitant to participate. 5. The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous. Yes, the beach is small but beautiful. The greenery and other floral throughout the grounds is gorgeous. When visiting the other Sandals resorts on the island, they don’t have a similar setup which reinforced our decision for choosing Halcyon. And for the not so great: 1. When we booked our room initially, we didn’t understand the real difference between a club level room, luxury level room and butler level room. I wish that it was better explained so that I knew more what to expect with being in a luxury room. The location of the room was great and i enjoyed being on the second floor. However, you can’t order any sort of room service, even if you offer to pay, which I found disappointing. They advertise that you get a “stocked fridge” and what they mean by that is 4 small bottles of water, two beers, one bottle of wine and a mixed array of soda. Housekeeping only refills it occasionally so most often we had to ask the front desk for more water. This was definitely different than what I expected with the quality of resort we were staying at. 2. Being a honeymoon couple, they surprised us with a gift to celebrate with being a room service breakfast and a bottle of champagne. We opted to do the room service breakfast the day that we were going on an early excursion so we could spend some time in bed. We put in the order and that morning, it never came. I called over an hour later and was offered a take out box as a solution but we were going on an excursion, so that wasn’t an option. I didn’t get an apology or anything. The excursion was all day, so we were hungry all day. It was just frustrating. 3. They also advertise “stay at 1, play at 3” as a benefit for staying with Sandals at St. Lucia. We looked into going to both of the other resorts to check them out but there were no accommodations for changing/showering/etc in a luxury level room. Haylcon doesn’t have many food options so it makes the most sense to go explore another resort and then get dinner. But without a place to change or shower, it makes it much more complicated. 4. It’s really hard to get chairs by the pool. We went to the pool around 8 on a few days and more than half of the chairs were already claimed by those with butlers or people claiming them hours before they plan on going. It makes it for a much less enjoyable experience. They advertise not to claim the day beds and i assumed that went with the chairs but I soon realized otherwise. I wish i knew this before booking because I would have opted for a room with chairs. 5. THE BED WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE! My husband and I woke up every morning with the worst backache. We didn’t say anything to staff because we didn’t want to be difficult but just be aware, in this level of room, the beds are stiff and the pillows are limited. 6. We made appointments at the beginning of our stay to get a couples massage prior to leaving. We arrived at our scheduled times and were made aware that “there was no appointment scheduled”. We were really disappointed. A reschedule time and day was offered but we were at the end of our vacation at that point and we didn’t want to change our plan. By the amount the spa staff bothers guests about booking, you would think that this wouldn’t happen.
