Should we go home early?

Beautiful location. Comfortable accommodation. Most staff were friendly except bar and waitress in main restaurant. They were very keen to see us leave and were rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. Very clearly didn’t want us there. We won’t be going back. Such a shame ??

THANK YOU—great vacation for first-timers to St. Lucia/Windjammer Landing!

On the plane, flying home from. our first trip to Windjammer Landing—and wanted to share right away how wonderful. our vacation was! The biggest selling point—as mnay have pointed out—is this AMAZING staff. All are welcoming, happy, informative, professional and will go the extra mile for their guests! The food is incredible, too—as are the drinks—and I was DELIGHTED to see how many vegetarian options there are at EVERY restaurant. As animal lovers, we were thrilled to see that the local cats (about 10-12 that we saw regularly I’d say) were not just tolerated by staff and guests, but cared for (cat food bowl regularly filled at edge of main building and some clippde ears on some kitties to show spay/neuter trap and release). Though we ended up coming when things were closed due to renovations to main pool and Jammers restaurant/bar area, and were a bit confused about what restaurants were open at what time and when they switched to the other name for the space, we had not been before and didn’t know what we were “missing” and had plenty of food options. re. pools, we are beach people, but the couple times we used one of the others 4 small pools we were able to do so without issue and were the only ones in at the time). Not crowded at all this time of year—so plenty of amazing attention without it being overbearing, plenty of beach loungers, great seats at all restaurants. A handful of tips: -be ready for bug bites if you’re prone to “attack”! Though I brought insect repellent (a Deet-free more natural one), it didn’t seem to work—and Stephanie at the Spa (who was incredible…) made a suggestion to use one of the lemongrass-based products they had there and/or a local one and that definitely made a difference! -already mentioned, but worth a seperate note that Stephanie in the Spa was—is—GREAT! Had a mani/pedi with her but it was so much more—she made it very special. She’s kind, professional, VERY good and very caring. Her energy was perfect for the Spa as well! THANK YOU, Stephanie. -we mostly walked up the hilltop our Villa—only took the shuttle once or twice. We had no isses with waiting for a shuttle as the seemed to come and go all the time and when we called for one it came in less than 5 minutes! Because the villas and buildings are built into the hills and it’s an expansive property, you WILL walk so if you have any mobility issues I’d make sure to talk to the staff before arrival (I am sure they will be GREAT about accomodating needs). -LOTS of vegetarian options, and menus marked with/for all sorts of dietary needs—THANK YOU, Windjammer! Loved that we were asked ahead of almost every meal if there were any food allergies or dietary needs. -glad we brought water shoes as much of the each area is not sandy, but seaweedy. The roped-off swimming area with slide, trampoline, etc. DOES have more cleared area so head over there if needed. -take a look at the app to see nights certain restaurants are closed so you dont miss out on any of them -as many have said, too, the all-inclusive plan is the way to go go! For a lunch for two with cocktails it would be a bill of almost $125ish USD (a 10% service charge is added in there) —dinner at double that with app and dessert. Breakfast @ $80ish USD for the buffet and coffee for two. It’s delcious—every meal—so. you’ll want to take advantage of that all- inclusive plan! Our first time to Saint Lucia, and obviously our first time at Windjammer Landing—and we loved it.
Best Hotel I have visited
Amber A (London, United Kingdom) on Sep 25, 2024
This Hotel was amazing. On arrival our bags were taken and a glass of rum punch was offered. We were too early for the room but were allowed to still enjoy the facilities. 5 restaurants I believe. A la carte offered instead of the usual buffet for lunch and dinner which was refreshing. None motored Watersports included too! Would 100% be back. Thank you for having us ??
Another fabulous trip to WJL
Limajuliet13 (Weybridge, United Kingdom) on Sep 18, 2024
Just returned from WJL. Our fourth visit to this fabulous resort. Cannot fault the staff who are always friendly, smiling and helpful. Our room was a two bed, two bathroom Hibiscus suite. Very close to the beach, meaning we didn’t have to take the shuttle buses as it was such a short walk. The maid service was excellent. Our room was always immaculate with plenty of clean towels and sheets changed frequently. My daughter and I took a few of the yoga sessions in the mornings. Shout-out to the lovely teacher. The restaurants were very accommodating with my vegan requirements. Servers are all very attentive. Musicians and singers were all great in the evenings. Our daughter water skied extensively on this trip and a special mention must be made to Gordon, Denver, Jamieson, Shurandi, Jn-Marl, Howard, Anthony, Junior, Caius, in fact all of the water sports crew are fantastic! The beach waiting staff were also great. Many thanks to Keenan and Shane who were very attentive and helpful. The main pool is being refurbished and this was taking place during our stay, but didn’t impact our trip at all. We look forward to returning to WJL and seeing the improvements they are making to the resort. Huge thanks to all of their lovely team.
