Old, expensive, infuriating

We paid an insane amount of money for this hotel that is not much better than a Holiday Inn. A mattress that had two huge dents in it from age, was rock hard and so uncomfortable. No bathroom fan. Broken magnifying makeup mirror. Bare minimum toiletries. Booked for 2 people but only had towels and robe for 1. Freezing cold drafty room. Overcrowded pool and sauna areas. We got a $110 parking ticket in the Westin parking garage even though we paid $50 for one night of parking and weren’t even parked there for 17 hours. Went to breakfast restaurant for breakfast and was absolutely horrified at the pitiful excuse for a buffet that was $50/person. We instead ordered a regular breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast for $32) and a traditional eggs Benedict ($34) and a regular drip coffee and a tea bag for $7 each! Our food came out cold. My scrambled eggs look like they had been under a heat lamp for hours. The eggs Benedict was cold, the meat was slimy looking. We sent it back. I realized shortly after that the buffet was closing in 20 mins and we probably got old food they wanted to get rid of. Our fresh meals finally came and they were decent but nothing special. All in with tip $98 for a basic breakfast you could get at a diner for $12 each. Unbelievable. They didn’t even offer us a discount or comp or anything. We will NEVER be back to this Westin and will make sure to warn anyone we know who is considering this place. Our trip was meant to be a fun romantic getaway, I left in tears and we were in such a bad mood from a horrible experience through and through.
Not All Heroes Wear Capes (Some Wear WESTIN Uniforms)

Not All Heroes Wear Capes (Some Wear WESTIN Uniforms) I stayed again at my favorite hotel in Vancouver—the Westin Bayshore—on December 1–2. My daughter, who lives and works in Vancouver, came to join me for a quick breakfast before starting her day as a high-school teacher. When I came down to the lobby to meet her, I immediately saw that she was stressed. As she was pulling in to park on the small street near the Westin, she heard a hissing noise and quickly discovered that one of her tires was rapidly deflating. With her limited time that morning and an important math test scheduled for her students, she was understandably worried. Every solution we came up with seemed time-consuming or complicated. I was checking out that day and couldn’t stay long enough to handle a tire change or a visit to a garage, so now we were both stressed, scrambling to figure out what to do. That was when we noticed the impressive and welcoming figure of Garrett standing by the entrance in his sharp uniform and smart hat. I thought, He’ll know what to do! And wow—was it ever the best decision to ask him! Garrett listened to our problem, summoned his colleague Paolo and two of them immediately jumped into action like true Superheroes. They directed my daughter to slowly and carefully back up closer to the main entrance, under the canopy, since the weather was a bit wet. Once she did that, they inspected the punctured tire, magically produced a rubber mat (to kneel on), like a rabbit out of a hat, and proceeded to replace the damaged tire with the spare one from the trunk—quickly, efficiently, and with reassuring confidence. Instead of the leisurely breakfast we had planned, we ordered takeout from the hotel restaurant to save time—but thanks to Garrett and Paolo, my daughter still made it to work on time. These two wonderful employees truly saved the day! We are so grateful for their kindness, quick thinking, and professionalism, and we sincerely hope they are appreciated by hotel management. Employees like them are the reason you want to come back to the Westin Bayshore again and again!

We had a wonderful experience at the Westin while visiting Vancouver. Staff were very friendly, clean rooms, and everything was decorated adorable for Christmas. The location was unbeatable. Having a suite made having our infant with us a lot more comfortable.
Elegant modern comfortable central hotel.

Excellent beautiful hotel right on the waterfront and very close to Stanley park. Quick friendly check in. Comfortable bed. Great shower pressure with lovely towels and dressing gown. Food was excellent. It’s a really great central hotel to explore Vancouver. I’d stay here again. Little pricey but you get what you pay for.
Lovely place!!!

Was in town for 2 night for the Eric Church concert and my boyfriend and I got the king size room with marina view. We got there early - so they let us check in our bags before our room was ready. We went to nearby pub. Check in went smoothly - the place is very stunning and clean. The room was great, had nice view ( too bad it was mostly raining tho). The bed - omg I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and this bed was the comfiest - it was like sleeping on a cloud. The tasting lounge in the lobby was great - tons of different cocktails to choose from and snacks. Great atmosphere and staff. I didn’t get a chance to go in the pool cause of the rainy weather unfortunately. I’d love to come back in the spring or summer to check it out. One of the classiest places to stay in Vancouver. Loved watching planes flying in from my balcony .
