Starting July 1, Melia Varadero will begin a remodeling project of 146 rooms. The work includes; Replacement of room and terrace furniture, room floor, replacement of
doors, textiles, TV, safe security box, minibar, lighting, air conditioning, bathrooms and balcony doors.
The completion of the improvements is expected by April 30th, 2025.
Some noise, dust and other issues will be associated with this project however all efforts will be made to minimize guest impact during this time.

My wife and I stayed at Melia Varadero a few years ago and found it at that time to be one of the best in Varadero. The service was great, and we personally had good food quality. The drinks were typical of Cuba with some great exceptions. We stayed at the level at that time and found it to be worth the additional cost. We are finally returning on Jan.22nd 2025, and hoping that things there are as good now as they were then. For context, we have been to many other resorts in Cuba (several in the Melia/Sol chain) and others, including Royalton Hicacos and Iberostar Varadero, but feel Melia Varadero is a better value and location. Unfortunately, the level is outside of our budget this time, but we are still anticipating a great experience. I look forward to writing a great review of our vacation!!!! I had such a great time here over the Christmas/New Years Holidays. I highly recommend this resort for many reasons. The overall vibe is great, even with it being a family resort my partner and I were able to have a quiet relaxing stay with the perfect balance of a nightlife if we wanted. The rooms are beautiful and the maids are so wonderful (Thank you to the night maid Chevaly for being so thoughtful every evening and finding cute ways to make us feel at home). The resort has several restaurants all in which have amazing food and the overall experience is enjoyable. The entertainment was amazing each evening and the New Years eve party was one of the BEST! Thank you to Claudia, the guest experience manager who made our time feel so special with all the details she helped my partner plan in making our stay equally as fun and romantic. Boris, the amazing manager for The Level, always going above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of In all aspects. I will definitely be back again! Muchos Gracias :)
