Good facilities, pity about the service

The Hilton is a relaxing and well outfitted resort that could be really great with a few service upgrades. First on the facilities: The rooms are big, with balconies, great views, and good toiletries. I asked for a water kettle (as the coffee maker water isn't very hot) and they lent me one. Excellent Precor gym, which has a wide selection of equipment, and which seems to operate as a standard gym club. There are two pools, though neither is really suitable for lap swimming, but it's good enough when there aren't too many people using the pool. There are four tennis courts on the hotel as well, which is great. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the main road , and there are a decent selection of beach and restaurants around the hotel. Now to make this a really excellent stay: it's all about service. First, check in took a long time : there are four reception stations but only one was staffed at 1pm. And there was already someone being checked in. The process was slow, very slow. And even though there were at least four or five staff going behind the desk, two concierge, three bell boys, no one (including the one staff person) seemed to care that i waited 10 minutes just to begin the check in process . Second, the room wasn't clean , there was visible dirt on the floor, including the previous guests' hair. I would have liked to vacuum too, as the carpet was also visibly dirty. Third, the room service announces that it will take 45 minutes; the resort isn't that big, they're not cooking very unusual or unique things. It's the standard salad, sandwich, burger, pasta. Given the limited operating hours of the restaurants, why can't they serve within 30 minutes like every other hotel in this category? Fourth, the coffee corner sells a decent selection, but even that is vacated periodically so that the single staff person can go to lunch. Really? Lastly, I'm not sure what the concierge is there for. There were always two people sitting there deep in chit chat, and whatever you asked them, it's not their job and no they cannot help . So, good facilities, and with a bit more attention to service , this hotel could improve so much.

The Hilton was a great place to stay for are quick weekend trip. The staff was great and provided great service. The breakfast was good. The Front Staff was excellent and very friendly. Mr. Frederick was a pleasure to speak with everything we were leaving to venture out. He always greeted us when we were leaving or returning

The Hilton Barbados keeps us coming back! Great location, friendly staff and adequate amenities. We’ve stayed several times before but visited again this August with a large group for a family reunion. I called ahead to notify front desk of our group and of some disabilities and requested some rooms closer to elevator. With just one day’s notice, all our requests were fulfilled. The property & rooms could use a bit of a facelift, but our rooms felt clean and were well serviced daily by housekeeping. Lisa at the Lighthouse Terrace for breakfast was a gem as well as the staff at the Careenage Rum Stop where we had drinks nightly. Cuppa Cafe was convenient for a quick bite and coffee. Ice Machines were out of service on all floors but we were able to get ice easily at the lobby bar. A short walk/drive and you’re at some of the best beaches in Barbados and close by to many top dining spots. We can’t wait to be back at the Hilton Barbados!

We stayed at the Hilton Barbados Resort for 3 weeks and had a great time. The location of the hotel is second to none and offers great sea views. The hotel has its own beach with free to use sun beds and parasols and an area to play sports including volleyball. The hotel has two great pools and an outdoor jacuzzi, a gym and various areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There are 4 restaurants with a wide variety of food and drinks, our kids loved the pizzas at the pool bar! The breakfast was great and offers lots of options, catering for every one including those with gluten free needs. Our waitress Lisa greeted us with a smile every morning which was lovely. The hotel concierge Rodney was very professional and a very composed gentleman, always helpful and very knowledgeable. Rodney assisted us in multiple occasions with restaurants bookings, transportation and giving us useful advice. Tracey-Ann from the house keeping team was very attentive and friendly, always making sure we had everything we needed in our room. The rooms were very cleaned and we had a fantastic view of the sea. One of us was unwell during our stay and we had to visit the hospital in the middle of the night, the hotel night manager was very good and organized the ambulance and made sure the kids were well looked after during our absence. The hotel has its own affiliated water sport club called “Barbados Blue” were you can borrow snorkeling equipment, paddle boards and other water equipment free of charge. We dealt with Kira most of the time and she was great and help us book lots of additional activities including boat trips, swimming with turtles and scuba diving. We even went to see some of the pirate ship wrecks! There are certainly lots and lots of water activities to do here, on a Thrusday morning you can go to pebbles beach next to the hotel and see the horses being bath, you can even help them and walk the horses if you want…. My kids loved this. During our stay we also have the opportunity to meet some of the management team including the General Manage who was very accommodating and gave us an historic overview of the hotel. We also meet Alison who was so so lovely and has a great sense of humor.?? We had a great family holiday and made some amazing memories. Thank you Hilton Barbados Resort. Amazing Staff

We were originally booked to stay for 10 days but ended up spending for over a month in the hotel due to a serious medical emergency. The staff could not of been more helpful and friendly during our stay, they checked for updates every day and helped us to extend our stay without any fuss. The food was amazing, we got to try nearly everything at all the restaurants and were not disappointed once. We will definitely return to enjoy an actual vacation soon and I look forward to seeing everyone in the hotel again.
