Outstanding Service and Stunning Ocean views and location

AKCToronto (Toronto) on Dec 05, 2025

Travelled with family including children. TODDLER Age: If you have toddlers (I don't but I remember there were certain details I would always look for in reviews so just helping others), I'll include a separate review about the amenities they can enjoy: Along the beach there are small pools of collected ocean water (ponds) next to the barrier rocks that they can play in (ankle to less than knee deep). There is a 1' small square pool just for toddlers at the hotel. Bring beach toys, because they don't really stock toys, it's just whatever is left from previous guests. Kids buffet (breakfast) is half price, lots of options (fresh fruit, yoghurts, eggs any style, tots, all breads, muffins, meats, cheeses, juices, etc.) but I think less than 3 years may eat for free (need to check). There is a separate kids menu for lunch and dinner at the pool side restaurant. Playground - there is a small playground including a slide, swings, hanging trapeze, and climbing structure that is enclosed and next to the pool side. No kids club but there are some organized activities that are scheduled throughout the week on a board. Lots of counter space in the bathroom (ground level, near pools) for diaper changes. Location: If you love the beach, this is a great location. You have ocean access to a few beach entry points, each with different levels of ocean waves. It was yellow flag every day, which means you can jump in the waves. Swim shoes are not required because there are lots of areas without rocks and the sand is quite soft. Across the parking lot is Pebbles beach for water activities or horse watching/bathing. Ocean temperatures seemed warmer than the pool. There is no beach service for drinks/meals. You can take towels from the resort to the beach across the parking lot for activities. Pools: I don't think hot tub was working but it was already quite hot throughout the day. There are two main pools, lots of space. Bali beach style beds I believe are available for rent. Pool depth varies between 3' and close to 6' (for the infinity edge pool). Restaurants/room service: The food was fine but doesn't compare to food offsite at restaurants in St. Lawrence Gap or Bridgetown. There is already a service charge included, so at your discretion you can tip on top of tip. All prices (on island) are in Barbado dollars and basically half the amount is the USD conversion. Rooms: The one factor that would prevent me from returning are the double beds. I don't know why hotels even have double bed options for families. All other room categories were sold out and there were no options. Keep that in mind if you have a full family and need restful sleep. Bathrooms do not come with shower gels (only bar soap, shampoo and conditioner) so bring some. Housekeeping was generous with water bottles and there is a bar fridge to stock and store them. Otherwise, rooms were always cleaned daily, bathroom space is adequate and they have a hanging wire to dry wet clothing. Towels are plentiful. Housekeeping is very accommodating and understanding with adjusting timings for room cleaning and always remembered preferences (i.e., need more bath towels). Service: Excellent service and hospitality from everyone including housekeeping, the personal trainer in the gym, beach towel attendants, restaurant hostess and waiter/waitress and hostess serving at a conference. Vicky, server at the conference we attended gifted my children with a Barbados souvenir bag and sea turtle key chain and gave recommendations for tourist sites. I was quite touched by the server remembering my children/family and passing along a memory of Barbados. Barbados Blue: If you are a Hilton guest, you can enjoy the water activity services at Pebble Beach with complementary access to paddle boarding and kayaking. We did an excursion with snorkeling and the tour guides were fantastic, patient and understanding of everyone's different comfort level in the ocean. Highly recommended ($50 USD/person for snorkeling in Carlisle Bay). The tour guides are very good with children and teens and making them comfortable in the water. Uber introduced in November and easy to use with prompt service but they have readily available taxis parked in front of Hilton. Offsite restaurants: Many options within walking distance from the hotel including Bali Beach house (located on the beach and kids can play in the ocean while waiting for their meal) but there are lots of flies near the food/beach area. You will see monkeys in open areas when you leave the resort and start walking towards restaurants. I recommend Sage for brunch - lovely setting and location. Short distance (Uber) away is Bliss Cafe, which is an Instagram type atmosphere but the coffee and brunch were also excellent. For dinner, I recommend trying the ocean view restaurants in St. Lawrence Gap such as Mimosa's and Castaways (Mimosa's looks like it could be part of the Barbie movie set and has a playground and lego building station for kids, all overlooking the ocean. Castaways had Kids menu French fries that reminded my kid of McDonald's but they a wonderful fusion menu). Our best meals were offsite. Also, you can drink tap water everywhere including the hotel.

A FABULOUS PLACE TO STAY!

Terry R on Nov 27, 2025

We were back here again for our 35th visit to the island! Many locals think that we should be given citizenship of Barbados!!! ?????? The staff at the hotel are friendly and there are plenty of amenities to be used including an excellent gym! The pool bar is open for food and drinks until late so if you’re not going out for dinner you can always eat in one of the three restaurants and the pool-side bar. The bedrooms are being upgraded on a regular basis and naturally takes time! All beaches on the island are public and the Hilton beaches are simply the best! However, it’s very unusual to see more than a handful of locals popping in at weekends. Give it a try!

The worst Hilton I ever stayed at!!!

Relax68574648116 on Nov 25, 2025

This was the most unpleasant stay I have ever had at any Hilton!!! To start off, they did except my Honors since I was booked through my company. As a status holder, I was still not eligible for anything that the status is entitled for, and this is ridiculous, as I am paying so much for the card in order to get the status. The staff were not very welcoming once they found out that I am staying on a corporate account, and everything is SUPER EXPENSIVE!!! The room decor looks old and had paint stains all over the floor, from previous wall painting. This is a huge disappointment! I have another business trip to here next month, but I will not be coming to this hotel ever again!! Thank you for nothing!!

Not worth the price

Elli638383 on Nov 20, 2025

Although many of the staff are very nice, the majority of this stay was laughably bad. The biggest issue is the abysmal customer service at the restaurants. It takes an unbelievable amount of time for everything, and the disorganization is unreal. We waited 1.5 hours for food one night, and when it finally arrived it was the wrong order. It took them an additional 30 minutes to get us the right one. Room service is no better—we were also sent the wrong order through it, despite ordering online for clarity. And don’t get me started on how long it takes to get served at the poolside bar. Aesthetically this hotel is so tired. It’s grungy and in dire need of a reno. The views and beach are beautiful, but everything else needs updating. It’s also not cheap. We were in a group which was supposed to be “all-inclusive,” only for us to discover that tons of drinks and menu items were not included in our plan (including draught beer!). We ended up paying a ton extra for some variety and to eat way better, cheaper food off resort. Overall, this is NOT a luxury hotel and certainly not a five-star experience.

Barbados Hilton

melaniewL977HN on Nov 19, 2025

Room was kept very clean, but staff not very friendly and a lot of staff seemed to use facilities on days off, with their families! We sat 25 mins waiting to order a drink at pool bar as 6 staff members flocked around a member of staff who arrived with family to eat and use facilities! We where at hotel for 2 weeks!
