Beach Palace does not disappoint!

NikkiMurphy76 (Lake of the Ozarks, MO) on Apr 22, 2024

Beach Palace does not disappoint! This was our second visit to Beach Palace and from the moment we arrived we felt like family! Our favorite part was seeing all the fabulous employees we met last year again! We opted for the included, shared Palace transportation from the airport and waited no more than 10 minutes for our van. We had one stop along the way at Sun Palace but we were still to the resort in less than 30 minutes. We love the location of this resort! It is right in the center of everything! Check In was prompt and efficient. We had our bracelets and were in our room very quickly! The bellboy arrived with our bags in minutes! We booked the Honeymoon Suite to guarantee a king bed. We were on the 7th floor with a fantastic view! I don’t know if there are any bad views the way this resort is set up. The room was spacious with a two person tub, a table/chairs, and a chair with ottoman. The mini fridge and the liquor dispenser were stocked with several liquor choices, beer, juices, soda and water. We had a table/chairs and a two person beach bed on the balcony. Overall we were very satisfied with the room! We spent the majority of our time on the beach. The weather was perfect and the water was wonderful! There was a little sargassum each morning that was promptly raked up and carried off. The beach is beautiful white sand with that classic turquoise water! The sand is soft but there are some shells. The walk into the water is easy and once you’re out a few feet it is just soft sand. Raynaldo made sure we had an umbrella every morning and Angelica, Joshuan, Antonio and Raymundo took great care of us making sure we had plenty of water and, of course, adult beverages!! Our late afternoons and early evenings were spent at the Sky Bar and pool. Once the main pool and beach are shaded there is still plenty of sun on the roof! They installed new umbrellas on some of the chairs while we were there which will help tremendously during the heat of the day. The bartenders and waiters were very friendly and efficient. We typically enjoyed an afternoon snack from the snack bar while relaxing in the pool. (The onion rings are amazing!!). Alfredo took great care of us in the evenings and we were happy to see him as the bartender at the shows as well!! Breakfast and lunch each day was at the buffet with Ernesto. They also offer an a la cart breakfast at Travola and the snack bar outside for lunch, but we enjoyed the choices and service at the buffet. Alex, Gabriella and Rosario also were standouts in the buffet! Our favorites for dinner were Gondola (Italian/Mediterranean) and the Smokehouse. Oscar and Nelly were great at the hostess station. They were both so friendly and welcoming. Juan was fantastic as a waiter. He remembered our drinks and our orders after the first night. He surprised us with table side Bananas Foster on our last meal there. Ir was fantastic! The Smokehouse was equally amazing! Yair made sure we had a great table to enjoy the view and Alejandro was a rock star! He made our dinners so enjoyable and gave us a fantastic send off with a romantic table for our final night. I highly recommended ordering the lobster ($29 upcharge but totally worth it!)! It was two decent sized grilled tails flambéd table side and served with grilled vegetables. It was amazing!! The sports bar was our after dinner spot. Odely is the sweetest waitress and is so attentive! We loved talking with her and catching up from last year. They have live music, bingo, karaoke, pool tables and lots of TV’s. It’s a great place to relax before and after the shows. The evening entertainment was very good! We went to all of the shows except the Mexican Show and they were all fantastic! The Mentalist was very good, the Glow Light Show was pretty cool, the Magician was similar to the Mentalist but very entertaining and the Michael Jackson show was fantastic! Overall we love this resort and will definitely be back next year!

Easter holidays

Claireabelle31 (London, United Kingdom) on Apr 14, 2024

We came to Beach Palace for our Easter holidays this year and it was fantastic. The beach at this hotel is breathtaking and the views from our floor level 12 room was just perfect. Food was great quality and loved Tavola! My fav restaurant by far. My daughter loved the crepes, cookies and ice cream from the Sweet and Coffee shop also. The service at this hotel you were always met with a smile and the staff could not do more for you! Special mention to Gabrielle who had my poached eggs everyday before I even had to ask once she knew me. The rooms do need a refurb but if you love the beach like we do it’s still in keeping with the wood theme beach feel. Housekeeping service could do with working on as some days would not be serviced and would have to be reminded more than twice.. the room was cleaner than other days too. We were not met by large queues for dinner time and room service was decent quality too! The service at this hotel you were always met with a smile and the staff could not do more for you. This hotel had a relaxed vibe and whilst the hotel needs a refurb update I would still highly recommend this place. Great location if you get bored of the beach/pool days and want to branch out we went to Bubba Gump Shrimp for lunch one day and the Aquarium with my young children. Also a shopping centre La Isla close by. I would definitely come back here or recommend to anyone that I know! Great relaxing holiday on the beach.

3 star hotel with good beach and bad customer service

Natalia I (Houston, Texas) on Apr 12, 2024

Summary: 3 star hotel, a bit outdated but livable, with good beach but not good customer service. We will not come back and we won’t recommend this hotel to others. Customer service is really a bummer, I’m ok with hotel being outdated etc, if you set expectations for 3 star and won’t expect more, it will work. But the problem is that it feels like that hotel management and personnel trying to take advantage of every lit thing and it’s really annoying. For example, right from the start, check in process is very long and painful, perhaps we got unlucky with the person helping us, but it took them more then 30 min to accommodate 6 of us it two rooms. Finally once they got it settled, they told us that room key is a bracelet that you can’t take off, have to wear 24/7, and if you loose it, it’s $150 charge, if you need to adjust it, it’s $10 charge for a ribbon ….how ridiculous is that….process itself and really you will charge $10 for a piece of fabric? Hotel won’t break bank on $10 but from customer perspective it’s super bad service and very annoying. Details: Hotel itself: it’s a “boutique” style hotel, small and compact compare to other hotels in Cancun. Everything is close distance, no need to walk a lot, hard to get lost. With that, everything is very tiny, very small kids club, small coffee shop, small pools etc. So far it’s working ok for us as hotel is only about 50% in occupancy but if it gets busier then it will be a problem. Room: room size is decent, two double beds, good size balcony. Mini bar. No complaints here. Food: overall food is as what you would have in 3 star hotel. They have buffet and few restaurants on site, not much diff between them, same cooking stuff, same food quality. My main concern is that we noticed that the same food has been served in the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I mean not type but literally they keep the same tray of food for the whole day. It’s cold most of the time as well. They have cooking station at the buffet where they can make you fresh omelet or taco though. Beach: beach is great. This is the only thing that really making our vacation great, beautiful water, no seaweed so far (we are here as of April 12th, 2024), clean sand. I have to note that beach is wavy and can be rough, no wave breakers here. Verdict: if you already book it, just set you expectations right, and come have fun. At the end, they have great beach and unlimited tequila to make if up for the rest:)) If you still in search, check other options, for this price point, you can find better deals.

Great Resort but needs renovations

amichels0n (Regina, Canada) on Apr 10, 2024

This is a great resort. We have been coming here since it was built. Yes, its in desperate need of renovations but, for the most part the food and service is excellent. First off I would love to give a shout out to some fabulous workers! Buffet- Gabriela, Claudia, Janet, Ernesto, Rosario and Arturo. Always hard working and are there for your every need. Spa- Diego and Fernanda (very friendly, kind and super helpful) Carmen, Ana and Ismael Beach Service- Brenda was always coming around to check on us and Yareli was great at cleaning up garbage and stuff that tourist pigs left lying in the sand and all over the place. I wish people could put their own garbage where it belongs and not pollute the beaches. Antoniao at the front desk was very helpful. Oberto the lifeguard is amazing! He is on watch all the time. Luis is awesome with his beach yoga class and the spin class. My 2 favourites. Octavio and Francisco in the Italian were great. Silvino is the best waiter that we have had in the Asian. Shout out to Gretchen in Public Relations and Andrea and Gadiel Valle. Can't wait to return! Hopefully in November after the renovations.
