Do not visit if you want all inclusive

It shouldn’t be call an all inclusive, you should call it a pre fix 3 course dinner resort. The location is perfect, Hilton needs to train the staff better and hire more staff. All inclusive means service while sitting on the beach, not having to get up for drinks. Let’s talk about the non functioning elevators. I am so glad , I was on the first floor.

We spent five days and four nights at this resort. The resort was not my choice but we went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Overall, I liked the resort. THE GROUNDS: The common areas were clean and inviting. There were plenty of places to relax and unwind. The pool areas were beautiful. Pools were spacious and clean. Lots of available seating but only a few cabanas that were available to rent. The beach area was nice for hanging out but the floor of the beach was rocky so I wouldn't recommend going barefoot into the water. THE ROOM: The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was very nice. Small but modern with a nice shower. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room furniture was a little dated but in decent condition. The bed was comfortable. And thankfully there was no musty/mildew smell that has been common in some other beachfront properties. Given our last experience in Mexico just a few months ago, I brought incense this time but didn't need to use it. THE FOOD: Overall the food was good, especially for an all-inclusive resort. The buffet had a decent variety and was open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As for the "restaurants", we only tried the BBQ, which was delicious! The only complaint is that all they offer is meat and a tiny salad that they expect you to share. Fortunately it was located close enough to the buffet so we went over there to grab some side dishes and brought them back to the BBQ. Probably weren't supposed to do that but oh well! Also be advised that there are no "restaurants " in the traditional sense except for the sushi bar. Everything else is wide open. The BBQ one was just a cordoned off area near the beach and didn't even have a roof. The Italian one was more like a hut. But you will need reservations for all of them. THE STAFF: Honestly, the staff is a big reason why I couldn't give the resort five stars. The check in personnel were friendly enough. The female server at the BBQ place was good and our cabana attendant at the pool was very good. I don't remember her name but I think it started with an "S". And our room was cleaned daily with no problems. However, the staff at the buffet seemed very disinterested in doing their jobs and weren't very friendly. They did not clean off tables in a timely manner, which attracted lots of birds. We even saw an emaciated stray cat walk in, climb onto one of the tables and start eating the leftover food off plates that had been left there for at least 15 minutes! Even though there were plenty of staff but they just kept walking by it or spending too much time socializing with each other. Despite some of the shortcomings my overall experience was positive enough to return. The main things like the room accommodations and the food quality made things enjoyable. The resort is also in a good location very near downtown Willemsted. It is within walking distance if you are in relatively good health but the cab fare is not bad either.
