Don't hesitate book the trip!

We have never gone on an island trip over Christmas break before. The inflated prices, the crowds, but we took a chance based on a friend's recommendation and after seeing mostly positive reviews on trip advisor. This was our first time in the Caymans and it quickly became our new favorite island. Loved the quick, flat drive from the airport (if you've been to St. Thomas you know what I mean). The people are by far the friendliest we have ever encountered anywhere we've been. Taxi drivers, bartenders, hotel staff, housekeeping, it was a great thing to experience. Our rooms were ready upon arrival (early) and they followed our requests. To note - We stayed on the North side of the hotel and were woken up every morning at 7am by the roosters, other family members stayed on the south side of the hotel and did not have this problem. Loved our morning beach yoga classes, there's also a smaller gym that has what you need if you want to get an indoor work-out in. Had no problem getting machines and weights even during busy holiday season. Loved the bottled water and cold towel I received from the front staff after returning from a run. From what I saw after walking along the entire beach, The Westin has the best chair set up. The beach is wide, there are tables and umbrellas and plenty of space. You don't feel like you're packed in on top of the person next to you like at The Ritz. You do have to get up early to secure your chairs but I have not been to any hotel where that was not the case (even at the Four Seasons). The best part, the service! A small disk on your umbrella and you press it and it alerts your server. The service on the beach was the best we have ever experienced - hands down! And the food is amazing! I saw someone say the food was terrible, that's insane! The fish tacos, the lobster roll, the quinoa salad with fish, crispy tuna bowl, even the chicken fingers and fries were good! We didn't go in the pool once, because it was too cold, but we're beach people so it didn't really matter. Red Sail sports right on property for excursions and boat rental was so convenient. Housekeeping was also great, serviced our room everyday and not once did we have to call and ask for anything. There's also an empty mini fridge in your room if you want to run across the street to the convenience store for drinks or snacks (great if you have younger kids). They did a great job with the New Years eve party. Insanely overpriced and they didn't do the water fireworks because it was too rough, but there was a band and then a dj, fortune tellers, photobooth, fire dancers, tables right on the beach with a huge buffet and bar. Here is my only complaint. No coffee. I have never been to a hotel where there wasn't a coffee machine in your room and/coffee offered in the lobby. The only option to get a cup of coffee at the hotel was to wait on the insanely long line at the cafe, which is where everyone was ordering their breakfast. Suggestion - make a coffee only line at the cafe. Overall we had an excellent, relaxing trip thanks to the staff at The Westin and the wonderful people of Grand Cayman! Can't wait to go back!
Hibiscus Spa deep tissue message, Simones the best

If you need a deep tissue massage, I would strongly recommend Simone at the Hibiscus Spa . She is great masseuse with excellent skill and has been professionally trained.
Mediocre experience and Front Desk Lied about compensating room fee
Kate W on Jan 02, 2026
We stayed here over New Year's Eve with our family of 4, including two little boys (aged 5 & 7). It was OK. Based on the reviews, I thought it would be better. Pool was cold. There is not an official kids club, they have an activity center to rent games. Restaurants were slow. Service was OK. Getting chairs at the beach was difficult - would go out at 7am and all the front rows were taken as well as the pool chairs. On New Years Eve, the party / music on the beach was SO LOUD it sounded like it was happening in our room. They should put families with little kids on the opposite side of the hotel from the party. By 1am, I called the front desk and they kept telling me that the party was 'over' but the music was still going. The Gentlemen I spoke to told me they would compensate us for our room that night. When we went to check out, they told us no one noted it in the system and they wouldn't comp the room. We've stayed at the Ritz before too and it was a much better experience.
disappointment- Christmas brunch
fitviki on Dec 30, 2025
The Westin recently organized a Christmas bottomless brunch, similar to many hotels in Grand Cayman where family brunches are a popular Sunday tradition. A group of over ten of us attended, but unfortunately the experience was a disaster. At 170 KYD per person, it was simply not worth the price. The drinks were the first disappointment: the bar offered only two pre-made cocktails, both made with tequila, which none of us drink. When I asked the bartender if I could order something else, I was told to wait for the server, and when the server arrived we were informed that the only options available were prosecco, beer, or wine. Even when we requested an Aperol Spritz, which is based on prosecco, we were told no. Most of the ladies in our group don’t drink beer or wine, so prosecco was the only option left, which felt very limiting for what was advertised as a bottomless brunch. The food was equally underwhelming. On arrival, I was shocked to see boxes of cornflakes on the buffet — more reminiscent of a budget hotel breakfast than a festive family Christmas brunch. For the four vegetarians in our group, there were only salads and side dishes, with no proper main courses available. The turkey and desserts were the only redeeming elements, but overall the food quality was poor. To make matters worse, we were seated outside in the direct sun with no cover, and only one fan in the area, which was pointed at another table. We were left sweating, uncomfortable, and even our makeup was melting in the heat. We have attended brunches at Kimpton and Indigo, and while it may not be fair to compare, the difference was striking. At those venues, there were beautiful cocktails to choose from, attentive servers who kept drinks flowing, and food that was genuinely impressive. The Westin, by contrast, fell far short of expectations. Between the limited drinks, disappointing food, and uncomfortable seating, this brunch was a complete letdown. At such a high price point, the experience needs major improvement, but for us it was definitely a “never again.”
Terrible

The food by the pool was absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend getting the fried fish bowl. They gave us all the fried crumbs they had at the bottom and yeah that’s what we ate and paid very much for it. Disgusting we brought it to the waiters attention and he just disregarded us. Not nice.
