Wonderful holiday experience

Janet P on May 16, 2025

Position of hotel central to restaurants, shopping, the beach and transport. Beds very comfortable. 3 pillows provided all different levels of firmness. The vanity being outside the bathroom was very convenient with one still able to get ready while another in the shower. The best feature for me was magnifying mirror for applying makeup. We had an ocean view room which was huge compared to others I have stayed at. The lanai was a welcome addition. The staff very courteous , informative and friendly. Very clean and I would definitely stay again.

Good stay more on the expensive side at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort

IIBou (Toronto, Canada) on May 16, 2025

Very good hotel, with the best part being its unbeatable access to Waikiki Beach—just steps away. The hotel provides beach towels and chairs, which made beach visits very convenient. Breakfast was included in my stay and served at the SHOR restaurant—it was excellent. There was a wide variety of options to suit everyone’s taste, and the quality was consistently great. The main drawback was the outdated condition of the rooms, which felt like they hadn’t been updated since the 1980s or 1990s. Even a simple fresh coat of paint could go a long way in improving the ambiance. Another issue was the sliding glass door to the balcony, which had a peeling tinting film that obscured the otherwise stunning view of Waikiki Beach. The peeling appeared as tiny specks, almost like smudged hand cream on the glass. Housekeeping was able to partially clean it, but the issue remained. This definitely needs an upgrade. Considering I paid around $400 per night—plus another $150 in taxes and resort fees—for a total of about $550 per night, I expected a more luxurious room experience. However, it seems that this level of wear and tear may be common in Hawaii, as I spoke with other guests staying at nearby Hilton properties who reported similar concerns about outdated rooms.
