Perfect for Engagement!
Aadon J on Jul 06, 2025
Our concierge, Brandon assisted me and my fiancé for the duration of our engagement. Throughout our vacation, we were met with unexpected surprises and tremendous care. There was never a moment during our vacation where we did not feel taken care of with the utmost quality. I recommend this resort to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing vacation with their spouse or alone. I would also like to thank Itzel for her thoughtful and thorough guidance of us during our first day on the property.

The resort is beautiful and everything is top notch, including the food. Our concierge, Itzel, was fantastic and the service at the spa was also excellent.
The Love Hotel

The husband and I always travel for our anniversary and I’m always on the hunt for adults only AIs. I had been following the Boutique on Instagram since they opened up the adults only side of Grand Velas. It was months later that I saw that Bravo’s Love Hotel was filmed here! I’m a housewives fan so of course I was super excited to watch the show to see the resort! What you saw on the show is how it looks IRL. We had the best time. We like to veg out, chill by the pool, eat and drink and relax. And that’s what we did. It was perfection. One of the best things is that you didn’t have to fight for lounge chairs at the pool. So no waking up at the crack of dawn to save seats. Our room was ready when we arrived so we were able to unpack and get our suits on and headed to the pool as soon as we arrived. Our concierge was Jair and he was very attentive and checked on us often. We are pretty laid back so we didn’t need much but he was always around in case we did. At the pool we had several pool servers who made sure our glasses were not empty. Shout outs to Martha (she’s the cutest), Jesus, Jose and Alberto! They were our best friends for the week and always remembered our names and drink orders. Get the Mexican carajillos if you are a fan of espresso martinis. They are yummy. All of the restaurants were really good. Velas 10 and Lucca are at the Grand Velas side but were our favorites. You cannot beat the view at Velas 10 on the patio for dinner. At the advice of our travel agent we booked spa appointments at Velas and was able to enjoy that facility along with the water ceremony. Just go ahead and book it. You only live once and are on vacation. Our massage therapists were Saidy and Noemi and they were truly amazing. We both said that it was one of the best massages we have had in a long while. We did go to the Michelin star restaurant Cocina de Autor and I will say it’s an experience. That’s the best way to describe it. We sat on the patio and next to the coi ponds and it was a very nice ambiance. It is an experience so don’t expect to get in and out quickly. We were there over 2 hours so I don’t recommend going there if you are hangry! All of this to say we loved our stay at the Grand Velas Boutique for our 11th anniversary and wish we were still there now…
Unbelievable experience, amazing staff and food.

My wife and I spent 4 days at Grand Velas Boutique for our 20th anniversary. It was an *amazing* trip, something we booked last minute and was probably one of the Top 3 trips we've ever taken. If you need a place to connect with your spouse/significant other, this is the place to do it 100%. We were greeted and onboarded by Rebeca at the front desk. She explained about the hotel, our restaurant reservations, and oversaw our check-in and check-out. She was wonderful. Luis handled our bags when we arrived and got them from our room to bring down at the end of our trip, he was respectful and timely. Jair was our personal concierge. He did a great job and helped us move our restaurant reservations around to different times when we requested it, helped us get specific Nespresso coffees in the room for the mornings, and even helped us find a pair of binoculars so my wife could spy the ocean wildlife better. Jumping stingrays are so cool and we saw them all the time on our trip. The service was incredible. I've never had a server ask to take my plate from a buffet back to my table for me while I was still browsing for more goods that I couldn't possibly fit on my already full plate. This was at Del Mar for the morning breakfast. Irma was usually our server and she was amazing every morning! Adrian the manager was always there to greet us and help with anything we needed. Elsa working the omelet station was a gem, she always had a smile and her homemade masa tortillas were unbelievable. Don't skip on her breakfast quesadilla! The pool was immaculate, I've never seen such a well run pool. Martha owns the place and it shows how well she does. Immediately upon walking up she's already radioing her team to get whatever seats and umbrella you want prepped. Jesus was our server the entire time, he was terrific. Got our drinks exactly as we liked them, was attentive and always there to get our next order even before our last one's were fully gone. He even brought fresh ice for our waters as they melted so they were always cold. We really appreciated his attentiveness, and he would even stop by to say Hi in the morning when we were sitting outside at Del Mar eating breakfast. Israel in the bar mixing cocktails was fantastic, a true master of his craft. My wife loves elderflower liquor and she would ask him for something special and he'd always come up with something delicious and creative. We dined at Loto twice in our four nights, it was delicious and worth a repeat visit. Yarely was our server both nights, and she is such a genuine and wonderful soul. Always smiling and making great recommendations. Our first time dining she went over the menu top to bottom, I've never had anyone spend that time going over things before. It was truly a sign of great service. Josue the Loto manager was always amazing, he greeted us both nights we were there and got us set up at the table we wanted without any delay. Chef David P. came out to visit us on our 2nd visit to Loto and he was great to speak with and created a wonderful menu for that restaurant. We also got to spend some time with him at one of the cooking classes, which was a fun activity. Definitely make a trip over to Cocina de Autor for the Michelin experience. Be sure to make reservations a couple weeks prior to your stay (at least, more if during high season). The walk is maybe 3 minutes from the Boutique and you definitely don't have to use the golf cart transfer if you don't want to (though there was always someone waiting to transport if desired). Our only negative is you can't buy the room fragrances online and have to be on site, which will be hard to keep it in stock at our house. ;-) Overall, I highly recommend the Boutique for couples, it is a great place to disconnect from reality and reconnect and focus on your spouse. The food is Michelin quality, the service is even better, and we will absolutely be returning in the future.
5 Star Experience

Grand Velas Boutique lived up to the hype. The minute we got there we were treated with great service, I felt like I didn't have to pick up my bag or do one thing for myself the whole trip. They greeted us with an extravagant welcome drink, showed us to our room, and we explored from there. The room was outstanding, and the entire property was so beyond clean I couldn't believe it. Staff was always friendly, the food was PHENOMENAL (coming from a picky health nut). The poolside service was great, I felt like I never had to ask to get my water filled. We attended a cooking class at Loto and the chef was awesome. At every dinner, the chef would come out after we finished our meal to ask how our experience was, which was a great touch. The gym was fabulous.. something I always look for on vacation. Zero complaints. I've stayed at 5 star hotels all over the world and this one definitely falls in a top 5. Brandon, our main host, was the best! He was so attentive, got us whatever we needed, and he had such a nice accommodating personality. My best friend is pregnant and not only did he surprise her in the room with a macaron gift, but he gave her a gift at the end of our trip for her baby girl - this was so unnecessary yet such a great touch. Itzel was who I communicated with before the trip and she was so helpful in getting us reservations, activities, etc. I can't say enough good things. The only thing I will say (and by no means a complaint, just something to note) is the resort is very quiet. Being all inclusive, you won't see party animals at the pool. You won't see people going crazy all day. It was very laid back and most people kept to themselves. If you want a little more action and kid friendly, stay next door at the main hotel. But if you want a peaceful, relaxing, 5 star stay - stay at Grand Velas Boutique.
