Smaller, quieter resort and very nice!
Rebel_Family1995 on Jan 19, 2025
This was our 5th Sandals trip and here are the things we enjoyed and a few minor things that we wish could have been better. First the grounds were very well kept, staff was the friendliest of all the locations we have been and no pesty beach peddlers. The resort was on the smaller side which we prefer, we tend to hang out at the quieter pools verses the main pool, which there were two to choose from. We went after Christmas and left on New Year’s Day and even though this is typically one of the busiest times of year to travel, we never had an issue getting a beach or pool chair and never waited to get into a restaurant, we were seated immediately. Our favorite restaurant was Soy, ended up eating there twice and I enjoyed the lasagne at the Italian restaurant. Now to the things that could have been better. The beach has a lot of sea grass unlike Negril, Montego Bay or Antigua. They are building over water bungalows so hearing construction all day even after 4pm was irritating. New Year’s Eve day they closed the main pool to set up a stage for the New Year’s Eve party causing the entire resort to share the two smaller pools. Over all our stay was enjoyable and if you are not a big fan of getting in the beach water and more of a pool side person this is a wonderful place to visit. P.S. the bus ride to the resort was not nearly as awful as some people made it out to be. Recommend spending a little more for the private transportation to the resort and bus it back to the airport.

Schooners restaurant is a must to eat. A young chef Randall was excellent with his dishes with good flavours and presentation. His willingness to seek views of customers and take on board suggestions was brilliant. He has a deep passion to produce excellent food and a passion to succeed. Excellent food and service.
Family Anniversary Trip to Sandals South Coast

Sandals South Coast is a beautiful resort and beach. Longbeach Building's have been updated and are very nice. The people who work there are great! Eleanor's and Schooner restaurants were not up to the usual standards that returning guests are accustomed too. Food quality was below standards, Warning for guests who receive a RESORT CREDIT. Sandals is using the: Bait and Switch" game telling you how you can spend the credit at the resort. Not before arriving! Definitely not up to Butch's standards..........
Love South Coast

We love Sandals South Coast! We have been there 6 times and plan to go again. The beach is gorgeous and the grounds beautifully kept. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The only complaint would be that the food is inconsistent at times. Chefs can change night to night .Also, staffing appeared to be an issue this year as some bars only had one bartender and some restaurants did not have enough servers it seemed. The Cafe de Paris is the highlight of the resort in our opinion and we visited it daily. The Jerk Shack, Taco truck and Chickem Dipper truck were all fantastic. I broke my foot before we came and wound up renting a motorized scooter from Sungazers Mobility Scooters Rental 876-829-8266. They delivered the very next day and having the scooter really made the trip. Highly recommend. The resort is very large so if you have trouble walking for whatever reason it might be something to consider. The resort overall is very accessible which helped immensely. We booked private transfers to and from the resort. Our driver both ways was Shaun Murray and he is the absolute best! He handled every pothole with ease and kept us smiling the entire time. Again, highly recommend! Sometimes it's the little things that make the trip and we were very grateful for the assistance we recieved all around.
Total Enjoyment

The location, staff and beach is brilliant. Room is great with hood space and a lovely view at to sea. Radford a housekeeping member if staff made us feel so welcome on our first day. Terry and Randall two chefs were out of this world. Randall for a young chef had a great attitude, passion and his cooking was as good as a chef with years of experience. Also the quest experience manager of the resort Samir knows about customer service.
