We visited Sandals South Coast (Whitehouse, Jamaica) April 18—25, 2024. From the airport to the resort and back they could not have treated us better. Jamaica’s blue skies, stunning vegetation and warm, beautiful people are a treasure. So grateful to have vacationed in this sun-drenched, slow-paced paradise where the answer to all our requests was “Ya Mon.” Highlights: The Setting: Blue skies, white sand beaches, clear blue water, stunning sunsets. They call it paradise for a reason. The Service: From the time we arrived at the Sandals lounge in the airport the service was exceptional. Are you enjoying your time with us? Can I get you some food? Are there any food allergies we should be aware of? Can I bring you something from the bar? My wife made her Spa appointment with a woman who approached us while we were lounging on the beach. One evening as we checked in for dinner our hostess noticed me scratching a bug bite on my wrist. She offered me some bug spray. I thanked her and she said, “I take care of my guests.” So true! Sandals training must be very thorough as the commitment to quality was consistent throughout the property. The People: The staff, native Jamaicans, are happy, kind and excellent hosts. Take time to talk with your food servers, housekeeping staff, etc. They are a joy and add to the laid back atmosphere of the island. Freedom: Waking up when we wanted to, lounging/sleeping on the beach or by the pool unaware of what time it was, showering and walking into our choice of restaurants without notice, it was all so liberating. My advice: Only two restaurants require dinner reservations: Eleanor’s and Schooners. Make your reservations the day you arrive as they do fill up. Do the Garden Tour: Harriott was our guide for the 30 minute Garden Tour — He spent almost 90 minutes with us. Could not have been a better, kinder guide. He showed us the many shrubs and different varieties of palm trees, banana trees, coconut trees and even gave us a tour of the nursery. At the end he picked some mangos off a tree for us to enjoy. A great way to learn about Jamaica’s landscape and culture. We also enjoyed the glass-bottom boat tour, water skiing, tubing, and Hobie cats. Bring sunscreen and bug spray and apply daily, more often if necessary. We saw a lot of sunburned guests while we were there. Do we plan to return? Ya Mon!

My wedding was at the resort in March, it’s now May and i’m still waiting for my catamaran cruise refund. I’ve emailed them so many times and can’t even get a valid answer as to why i’m still waiting. All my guests said the food was mediocre. I could go on and on but my time is too precious. I would stay away if you want a great wedding experience.

Hospitality was amazing. Would go back just for the people. Extra shoutout to the dive team, Omar, Richard and Byron were a great help. The server at Schooners, Richard went above and beyond for us and the rest of his guests! Thank you sandals south coast!

My wife and I stayed in the Over the Water Bungalows and had an Amazing time. Our two butlers Rayon and Melesia were phenomenal. Would highly recommend both OWB and request Rayon and Melesia as your Butlers.

Get ready for an amazing time. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and it looks like a tropical paradise. We had a split stay with 3 nights in an overwater bungalow. Ours was so beautiful inside with a see through glass window in the floor. At night you could turn on 2 spotlights under the bungalow that shine on the water. The lights bounce off the water surface onto the white ceiling. This effect makes it feel like you are in an aquarium. Enchanting! Our butlers, Earnie and Stephen did many things to makes this part of our trip very special. Next we spent 4 nights in the Dutch village. Great views from our balcony. The patio bathtub was a relaxing feature of the room. We tried most of the restaurants and loved the food. Giuseppes was our favorite. Our server Tavia made every meal there a special occasion and was very kind and attentive. Latoya from the loyalty and travel team was so helpful in explaining the benefits of being a returning guest. We even booked our next Sandals trip. This entire trip felt like a second honeymoon!
