Good family outing

Our time at Hewel's Paradise Cove as we celebrated our Dad's birthday was enjoyable, relaxing and memorable. The staff were welcoming and helpful.. A big thank you to Tenelle, at the Platfinum Pizzeria, she was helpful, cheerful and a good guide to the offerings of the property. Tenelle's hospitality was commendable. Thanks to Geetha, Chef at the Jade Samurai she was excellent. To Serita, Samantha and Nesheta at the Buffett. Imran and the other Bell hops very helpful. As a locals we enjoyed our stay. Rooms were comfortable. .
Nice little hide away

Standard rooms are basic & dated but bathrooms have been nicely renovated. We stayed on the ground floor, our patio door led directly to one of the pools with bar...almost as good as a "swim up"?? All staff seemed genuinely pleasant and helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained, many romantic nooks and seating areas. Main dining: breakfast & dinner were disappointing in terms of variety and quality. Though the aquamarine cafe offerings were very tasty and well done. Also the Irie cafe actually served really great coffee drinks. Top of the line entertainment with in house band and DJ.
Enjoyable but lacking ambiance

Overall enjoyable stay. The food is decent quality, especially for an all inclusive, but nothing fancy. The drinks were a bit disappointing, the cocktails are all very sugary and not very well balanced, no coconut water and no tonic for a G&T. The staff are very helpful, attentive and very friendly, they really are an asset to the hotel. The pool areas are great, multiple pools and swim up bars, which are great fun. The biggest thing I didn't like was the ambiance in the evening, the main entertainment area has harsh white lighting, which does not make it feel relaxing and makes it look more down market. Also the teppanyaki restaurant, which again had wonderful staff, has harsh white lighting and no back ground music, again massively lacking ambiance. With a some investment in ambiance and better quality cocktails and soft drinks, I really feel this hotel would be awesome, because it already has the fabulous staff! Fix the easy stuff and the better reviews will come!

My trip was enjoyable the customer service was good, the staff was accommodative and I felt like an adult not caved by restrictions. The scenery was magnificent, the surrounding and grounds were cleaned and well kept . Will surely visit again and was not ashamed that I had carried my friends you had never visited before.
Home-from-home Resort

For my first trip to Jamaica, this was a wonderful experience. The resort is lovely and so relaxed. Not too big but still felt spacious and welcoming. We had a couple of issues during our 10 day stay but they were resolved quickly and without issue. One of those being very very loud entertainment in the main restaurant some evenings (2 out of 10 nights of our stay, so nothing too serious) but worth mentioning as could be an issue for some. Our stay was during the November 2024 workers strikes but honestly we were not affected part from a slightly slower service around the pool bars but nothing major! All the staff are so friendly and helpful, a true asset to the resort!! And I hope they are able to resolve the strike issues as their staff are truly what makes this resort so lovely. And I imagine this is the same across the whole island. If you're looking for a more chilled, home-from-home resort this is definitely the one for you, and I would recommend.
