Pros: The biggest pro would go to the staff for their level of service, integrity, politeness and smiles. Our number one gold medal goes to Tia. She went above and beyond to make out experience a special one with her outstanding service im the Coral Cafe. Our second gold will go to the activity staff, namely Shavell, Britney and Jevanie. Mon… did we ever have fun with them. Our third gold medal will go to the staff at the Moonstone Restaurant (in the resort), namely Tinielle, Rochene and Keston. Impeccable service. Finally, our special unique gold medal will go to Silvia our room attendant.
The location and size of this resort makes it more personalized which makes you feel special.
The beaches (2) are kept cleaned and well maintained. You do not have far to go from your room. Jerk chicken and porc (Jerk Seaside Shack) and the smoothy bar are located on the main beach. Ok…. need to say “yummy mon”. The second beach is secluded and quiet. Great place to read your book, listen to the ocean, watch the albatross fish or just chill.
The Coffee shop (Irie Cafe) served all the specialities coffees to satisfied anyones taste. Nickera will prepare you whatever your tastebuds delight.
The food was always fresh and flavourful. Gerald was the snapper king to us. He sure knows how to tickle your taste buds. Merric is the omelette prince. He can flip your eggs to perfection.
Cons: As stated above the location is great however the resort would need some upgrades (TLC) as it is quite dated. The pool table needs to be replaced or repaired. We would recommended adding more than one table.
The water slide is great however it broke down on day 2 of our one week stay and was never repaired.
The 4 hamacs located near the quiet beach are popular. We would recommend adding more at various locations.
The nightly entertainment is mediocre. Not impressed. Need to have more variety to keep the crowed entertained so that they will stay.
As stated above the food was fresh and flavourful however they would just need to change their selection from day to day in the buffet area. (Coral Restaurant)
AS A NOTE:
Taxis are mega expensive. 150$ US round trip to go to Sandels. Going to outside restaurant which was 5 minutes away from as 40$ US round trip.

The ambiance was breath-taking. Lush greenery that made me feel like one with nature. The staff are the most friendly persons I've met in a long time. I felt at home. There wwas never a dull moment at all.
Old resort with excellent service

Been here for 48 hours of a week vacation with some hits and some misses.
Hits: service is excellent. Everywhere, staff will greet you with a nice hello and a big smile.
Ambience is cozy and peaceful. If the main beach a bit much (still peaceful), go to the smaller beach which is secluded.
Food is good or very good. Buffet is small but tastes good for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
No reservations required for any of the restaurant but the Jade Samourai (teppanyaki-style). Chicken at the jerk hut is delicious. Italian restaurant was a hit but don't look for lamb, they replaced it with beef tenderloin (perfectly cooked, juicy and tasty). They also offer gluten free pasta.
Nice size gym with a variety of equipment.
In the middle:
Beaches small and smaller, well kept with plenty of loungers, palapas, trees. Water on the smaller beach is shallow and seaweed on the main beah. Don't expect waves, they have breakers.
Misses: resort is clean but outdated (chipped tiles, worn off paint). Lobby looks like the entrance to a 3 star resort. Can't compare with the close by Grand Bahia Principe.
Bars and cokctails don't really offer international brands. None of them even have the local Appleton rhum. If you see a bottle of Absolute vodka, get some while you can because the bottle will disappear quickly. Choice of international spirits is slim to none.
The included excursions to Konoko falls and shopping are no longer included.
Will post again at the end of the week for a final appreciation.
Watch out Sandals they are coming for you!

This is an excellent alternative to the larger well-known resort that rules this country. It had the same customer service under the direction of GM Barbara. She has a hands-on approach and can be met at the weekly reception and checking out her property. It is a beautiful, well-kept place with unique features like an authentic jerk shack (so good) and a sunset bar where you can watch the sunset every evening. Long-time bartenders like Marlon and Shanece will go out of their way to ensure your service is excellent.
The entertainment is reliable. I love that...the show goes online dancing for 5, water aerobics for 8, or steel drums for 200. If it is on the schedule, it will happen. Kudos to the ladies on the deck, and I wish I had paid attention to the aerobics instructor. The slide was out, but that didn't stop Jonoy from keeping the pool leaf free and running for towels.
House Keeping was fantastic and turned down service hspoeddf for us every night. So lovely to come back to a freshened room. The best meals are fried chicken sushi, chicken parmesan, and jerk pork and festival.
Everything wasn't perfect but talk to someone, and let them help you. Avoid the bacon- too crispy. The pool is freezing. Get an early seat for showtime.
At this price point, dining plush like lobster and lamb was absent, as well as some of the upper-tier liquor, but you your hard-earned dollars are well spent here. Give your body, mind, and wallet a break. Come to a Jewel in paradise cove.

Went there for our 10 year anniversary. It was very lovely and amazing. The people are friendly and welcoming. A lot of activities to do in the resort. The food and drinks were great. I definitely recommend this place.
