Very poor housekeeping

Nic B on Jul 05, 2025

I have never before stayed in a hotel where there are 2 twin beds in a room and they only iron one of get beds?? We had 2 interconnecting rooms, and both rooms only had 1 bed which had been ironed?? Gives a very sloppy first impression and was the same throughout the stay. We have been staying here for 7 nights and only had housekeeping once! The floor hasn’t been cleaned, beds haven’t been made up, and no fresh towels, until we went to reception to complain. We were told they only send housekeeping “every other day”!?? You can’t walk to anywhere from this hotel, the food market/cafe is mediocre at best so eating while out was our only option. The walls are thin, and the light sensors annoying. Stay somewhere else folks.

Incompetent Management and Fraudulent Credit Card Activity

Janet F (Kissimmee, Florida) on Jul 04, 2025

As a frequent guest at Universal’s Loews hotels every summer, I am very disappointed with this experience. I pre-checked in and paid in full for both my stay and parking prior to arrival. To my shock, while I was at Universal Studios, I noticed numerous charges being attempted on my credit card for different amounts. Thankfully, my card was locked, so no unauthorized charges went through. I then received a text from the front desk informing me that they had accidentally deleted my credit card from their system and asking me to stop by the front desk. I was told I wouldn’t have to wait in line. However, when I arrived, the line was quite long, and I was told I would need to wait. While waiting, I witnessed several other guests complaining about similar issues — one man on his birthday had booked two rooms but was only given one, and another guest was visibly frustrated while trying to get help from a manager who kept repeating the same unhelpful responses. Although my kids had a great time at the resort, I am now home and still dealing with unauthorized charge attempts from the hotel on my credit card — daily. Despite multiple calls and being told someone would call me back to resolve the issue, no one has followed up. I am very disappointed and deeply concerned that my banking information has not been kept secure. The fact that the hotel continues to attempt charges for changing amounts, even on cards they claim to have deleted, feels fraudulent. This is unethical and extremely poor business practice. I have never experienced anything like this in my 45 years. Unfortunately, I will not stay at this resort again.

Good Hotel

EllePee12345 on Jul 03, 2025

We stayed here last week for 7 days and had a good experience. I'll provide as much detail as possible. ROOM: We arrived to our hotel early as we had an early morning flight and were able to get a room by 12pm. The room was a good size for our family of 4 (2 adults 2 youths). We had 2 queen beds with a small dresser and blue sitting area beside the dresser. We found no issue with space as we were able to tuck our carry ons under the seating area and we placed our bigger luggages on the seating area. There's also a decent sized closet where things can be placed inside as well. Small fridge in the room, we had to turn the temperature in it colder as it was quite warm. The room was cleaned every 2 days along with new towels. Our view from the room was the parking lot and the EPIC park. The one complaint about the room is that the walls are so very thin. We thought many times someone was knocking on our door and it ended up being someone else in the hallway. There were also many girls volleyball teams there at the same time and there were 2 nights we were awoken between 12-2am by girls screaming and laughing in the room next door, the ultra-thin walls didn't help that issue. OTHER: There was a water refill station beside the ice machines on our floor which was a plus. They do have 2 laundry rooms to do your own laundry (we didn't use them) but is a great idea! They also offer rental car service at the hotel through Avis. Shuttle buses to the parks were convenient and not far from the parks. The staff were very nice and helpful. Front desk was great when we got there. There was another desk in the lobby where we were able to pick up our park tickets and express passes, they were really helpful with park tips too. The Universal store was quite expensive, but that's expected. We went to Walmart on our first day and purchased a bunch of universal items for a fraction of the cost. POOL: The pool was a good size, not much happened in the pool area geared towards kids (at least while we were there). They had a movie that would be played in the evening on a white flimsy screen that couldn't be seen or heard. FOOD: Moonrise Bar by the pool had good drinks, a bit on the expensive side. Moonrise Grill (which is tucked into a corner and we didn't know was there until the last day) was decently priced. We were able to get a grilled cheese sandwich, fries and chocolate milk for $9US. They also had other decently priced options. We didn't eat at the Omega Market as we were out of the hotel a lot. We did purchase a bagel from the Omega Cafe and it was inedible. We asked for it to be toasted with butter, it was toasted and about 6 wrapped blocks of frozen butter were given to us on the side. The bagel itself was very hard and dry. The items at the cafe looked to be quite expensive. I did see pre-made breakfast bagels in a container for $14US. OVERALL: If you're looking for something basic, this will be it. We spent most of our days at the parks or out touring and shopping. If you're planning to stay at the hotel the majority of the time, might not be the place for you.

Come for the staff and also the parks...

leroyk (Germantown, Maryland) on Jun 24, 2025

Arrival: Very easy. Super huge parking lot in front of building. Front desk folks were always helpful and knowledgable. Room was decent size. Bathroom was clean, no hairy socks. Those that know... This place is geared to those folks really attending a day at the park. That mission it really exceeds. Food options include Market(quick stop and shop) and Cafe. Think of the cafe as a semi automated experience. You order at counter. Get a buzzer to let you know when food is ready. Take back to room or eat in the large food court style seating area. Food was good. Will appeal to the folks headed to the parks. Speaking of the parks. Easy transport right outside the front door to all the Universal parks. The outstanding feature here is the staff. They really make this place work.
