We waited long periods of time in getting towels, an iron and the beach was dirty and required daily maintenance. Breakfast requires improvement.

We spent 10 days 9 nights. The hotel the breakfast could be a little bit better. No complaint about the check-in. They need to improve on the snap bar. The chickens are too dry but the staff there is super .Franklin ,Franklin that’s in charge of the restaurants I would give him a 10+ excellent job. He made sure all 11 of us had seated every night. The bar were super. The only complaint I have was the entertainment. We got three nights out of 11 with great entertainment, other than that entertainment is not for older adults .for the room they need to do better cleaning the rooms.. The bathroom on the first day at Hair’s all over the shower. The iron never worked. It took two days to get the iron. but I will return again.
There are better resorts out there- Honest Review- Seasoned Traveler

RCI Member Review – Honest Feedback As an RCI member, I expected a smoother check-in and a stay that met the standards typically associated with our membership. Unfortunately, our experience started off poorly. We reserved a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit but were initially placed in a one-bedroom. After waiting in line twice and being told that our reserved room type wasn’t available, I called RCI. Interestingly, once the front desk overheard that call, our correct room type “suddenly” became available. That was disappointing and unprofessional. Once we were in the proper room, it was spacious, clean, and offered a beautiful ocean view. However, there were a couple of issues with housekeeping: The master bedroom sheets had stains. It took two days and a follow-up call to have them changed. The master bathroom had long black hairs on the floor. Even after the maid said she was done cleaning, they remained until I pointed them out. Adding to the frustration, we were harassed for the first two days by the Travel Club sales staff. Every time we walked near the bars or restaurants, we were stopped and pressured to take a tour. After repeated interruptions, I finally told my husband to just go so they would leave us alone. We spent about an hour listening, declined the offer, and — almost magically — they stopped bothering us for the rest of the week. One “no” should be enough, and guests shouldn’t feel pestered while trying to relax on vacation. On a positive note, room service was excellent — both the food and the service. The fruit plates and grilled chicken wraps were fresh and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the restaurants on-site were hit or miss. The Italian restaurant was the best option. The owner’s restaurant was decent but not great, and the “Angus steak” seemed to be a strange, tenderized cut. The Mexican restaurant was terrible, and we were advised to skip the Dominican one altogether. The buffet was the biggest concern. It did not appear to meet basic U.S. health standards — staff were serving food with bare hands, gloves were not used, and trays of food were “topped off” instead of replaced, posing cross-contamination risks. I avoided the buffet as much as possible, but with limited breakfast and lunch options other than slow room service (often taking over an hour), it was difficult. Unfortunately, on January 1st, I came down with food poisoning — and since we hadn’t eaten anywhere else, I’m confident it came from the resort. As for drinks, everything was house-brand (“Classico”) and watered down. Even with the VIP Owner’s bracelet, there were no upgraded options. The only beer included was Presidente Light. On the positive side, all the staff were kind, hardworking, and accommodating. The New Year’s Eve party was festive and enjoyable, though food service was chaotic. Overall, I would rate this resort 3 stars at best. If you go with that mindset, you won’t be disappointed. Bring anti-diarrhea medication just in case — I always do, and this was the first time I truly needed it.
Don’t waste your time

I wouldn’t waste your money on this if you’re sailing on a cruise ship and you’re going to Puerto Plata. There is a great place next to the pier that has a waterpark. It has food restaurants drinks everything you don’t even need to leave the pier. And it’s 1000 times better than this place. I was really disappointed. First of all. It was a very clean second of all the beach was full of people trying to sell you junk and they were on you all day long just constantly trying to massage you or sell you something it was so harassing and so annoying. I had to get up and go to the pool when I went to the pool. It was full of bees, so if you’re allergic to bees, be sure to bring an EpiPen. The food I wouldn’t feed my dog, but people still ate it. Maybe I’m just picky and the drinks were generic liquor no namebrand liquor. Overall I would give it a three on a scale of one to 10.

We had a great stay! The food and drinks were good. Great value for the money. The room was clean and updated. We had access to filtered water in our building (I was worried I’d have to find a store nearby to purchase). Plenty of seating during the meals. We only ate the all inclusive portion. The staff was busy but they are friendly. If you go this time of year the resort has lots of music and events for NYE! Definitely book this place. I’d stay here again.
