Staff was friendly Jorge on a he beach was awesome :) the sunset resteraunt staff were great :) everyone knew what we liked and what we drank and made us feel extremely welcome. The staff at the bar inside the hotel were awesome as well treated us like we have been here before. There definitely can be a few more options in the evenings for things to do at the resort

Amazing service

Celso is the best waiter. He attended our needs beyond our expectations, and always made sure we were taken care of. Definitely ask about him if you ever need service out by the pool. Drinks and food are very tasty, the views are incredible. You’re bound to have a good time!

Great place for a family!

Andrea P (San Diego, California) on Jan 09, 2025

Perfect spot to stay for the whole family. Not too big and with all the amenities. Good food, excellent massage therapists, clean rooms and easy to get to popular destinations. Price is very reasonable. The kids club staff is awesome too! It's nice to have the beach but there are a lot of rocks as you walk out.

WE WILL RETURN!!!

This was a repeat visit. What can I say? There is a vast variety of food in the main buffet restaurant. One thing that's in need of improvement is the heat of the food. The lids need to be kept closed. By the time one gets back to the table, the food is cold. You cannot get a burger in the buffet restaurant which I find rather strange. If a burger is desired one must get it poolside. BIG shoutout to Catherin & Gloria in the Buffet Restaurant. They are lovely people, always smiling, always greeting. A big irritant was the noise in the hallways leading to the rooms. There is a doorway leading to the steps which clearly states the door to be closed. Many many times we had to close that door because the noise from the lobby was very disturbing. Perhaps something could be installed on those doors which would close the door automatically. Guests need to be quiet when in the hallways. Yelling, slamming of doors, etc is not acceptable to those who are in their rooms resting. The volume of the entertainment in the Lobby is completely unnecessary. Never once did we stay in the Lobby to enjoy the entertainment because it was far too loud. The Lobby isn't what I'd call huge..just far too small for such a volume of music. The Lobby Bar has two televisions going at the same time. The volume of them is too loud also. It's a chore to enjoy a quiet drink when the tv at the right side of the bar has it's volume turned up. One afternoon I asked the bartender if he'd kindly turn the volume down. He did so, but when I asked it to be turned down a little further, he frowned but did so anyway. I'm sure those tv's are not for the entertainment of the bartenders! The Restaurant along the water was and is not my favourite. I find the food to be very bland. I ordered a salad with dressing. It was served without dressing, & when the dressing was brought to me, there was no taste to it at all. It was a very disappointing lunch to say the least! I will not eat there again!!!! Our room was spacious, facing the street which provided us with a beautiful view of the city. At night the lights were lovely, & early mornings provided us with sunrise. Beds are comfortable. Some days our room was cleaned very late in the afternoon, but that was quickly resolved. The Buenaventura is located within walking distance to the Malecon which is a great feature. There is a candy shop right across the street, & there is a grocery store within a short walk as well. Location couldn't be more perfect. Leonardobardo in the Lobby Bar is a very pleasant gentleman who manages to remember what people like to drink. It amazes me how he remembers, & he always has a big smile for everyone. On the day we were leaving, he gave us big hugs & said "see you next year". One other note regarding the Lobby...children of families should be better supervised. The running around the Lobby could result in someone getting hurt. The screaming is not acceptable either. All in all, I do recommend this resort. WE WILL RETURN!!

Clean and perfect size hotel

Evitafreem on Jan 08, 2025

We had a street view room and I was worried about noise. The street noise wasn’t really loud, it was the other guests in our hallway or when the door to the lobby was left open that woke us up at night. The street view rooms do not have a patio, only a window. Rooms were small but clean and had all you needed. The buffet was great and lots of variety that changed daily. The only issue was there can sometimes be a lengthy line to get in to eat as there aren’t many tables for the amount of guests. We did an a la carte at the Mediterranean restaurant and the food came out cold. The main pool can get very loud. We liked the adult only pool but there are very few lounge chairs so we had to go out early to claim chairs. Unfortunately they have a rule that if your chair is unoccupied for more than 15 minutes, someone else can move your things and take your spot (which happened to us). We found our personal items over at the towel exchange hut. The snack bar is next to the adult only pool and the server by the pool can take your order. We enjoyed the burgers and the nachos. There wasn’t much of a beach when we were there as the waves were very high and red flags were out every single day. I don’t think this is their usual. We did manage to see 2 whales out in the distance on one day. We used the spa to get a pedicure which was average pricing for the service. The girls got up multiple times in the middle of the service and disappeared. Our 50 minute pedicure ended up taking an hour and 50 minutes. People were waiting after us and were not happy. Overall it was a nice hotel and we had a great time. The location was nice to walk to the boardwalk and there’s also a cute candy store across the street. We would stay here again but next time get an ocean view room with a balcony.
