My husband and I love Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. What an outstanding All-Inclusive resort. We stayed a week and were pleased with the variety of choices of where and what to eat. Even late night room-service! We had a very comfortable king bed, and the room was quiet. We had an ocean-front view with a balcony - - and what a view! The entire resort was very clean and the employees were very pleasant and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the various pools and on 2 days rented a cabana on the beach ; they also have a large number of pool-side cabanas available to rent, as well. There was a big wedding celebration on the beach one evening that started at 6pm and we sat out enjoying the sunset and listened/watched their Mariachi band perform. I thought maybe the party might go on til late at night, but the beach portion ended around 9pm and all way quiet for a peaceful night.

My partner and I stayed at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta for two nights in December to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. While I expected average food at an all-inclusive, I did not expect it to be this poor. Food across the resort was mostly bad. The ribeye at the seaside grill was thin, lean, and dry (which may be typical for steak in Mexico). The fish ceviche was inedible—the fish was overcooked, dry, crumbly, and oddly included carrots, nothing like typical Mexican ceviche. Desserts were equally bad, including a so-called “caramel apple” that was actually a rock-hard candy-coated apple that was impossible to bite and stained my hands, mouth, teeth, and even my toothbrush red. Drinks also tasted overly artificial and were not worth consuming. Service was inconsistent and often disorganized. We received the wrong dessert at the Mexican restaurant and were only told they had run out of the one we ordered after asking. Dessert at the Italian restaurant took about 45 minutes and we think the waiter forgot about us, as it arrived half-melted. It was grainy and basically inedible—hardly gelato. The crepe station was was poorly executed, producing thick, holey, soggy crepes. The TV was not smart and casting was blocked. We were told IT would return to install a Chromecast, which never happened. Additionally, Wi-Fi for laptops is different from phone Wi-Fi, something that is not communicated unless you call for help. For a supposed five-star resort charging $400–$500 USD per night for a standard room, the amenities and maintenance were unacceptable. Elevators were frequently broken (my partner was briefly stuck in one), public restrooms were in poor condition, tennis courts were out of service, a hot tub had unexplained closures, all pools closed early at 9:00 pm, and the hot tubs were only lukewarm. Pros: Spacious, bright, clean rooms; good water pressure with hot showers; beautiful beach and views; great location outside downtown but close enough for a short drive. Cons: Food, tech, resort condition, and overall value.

Very nice property. Close to town. Generally good service and well maintained. Biggest negative is that there is nowhere to walk from the property and we love to walk outside. The buffets were smaller and not as good as other all-inclusive resorts where we have stayed. The grill restaurant on the beach was consistently very good.

Kevin who leads the kayak tour which is free when you stay at the hotel was a fantastic guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable and made it a memorable experience for us. Ivan at the playa bar made sure we were well taken care of and was really accommodating with our many requests!

My family and I had an amazing experience at this ocean front beautiful resort. We were treated kindly and hosted beautifully by Gabriella and Angel (managers) and Brenda for helping us book our Cabana. At the Cabana- Adrian and Israel were the best servers. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian Restaurant and was served by Oscar. Oscar was endearing and very warm serving us our dinner.
