Do yourself a favor, go and experience the energy here! We had such a great time! Level of service from our pool and cabana server, Israel! Level of service from our spa and massages team, Laura, Haidi, Yosuar, Margarita, Irma and Janine! Level of service from Blaze, Hector and Jose Luis! Extra special note for Patricia, our room attendant!
Perfect, intimate, secluded, uncrowded resort!

We LOVED this resort. I was on the lookout to find a semi-budget-friendly all-inclusive option to where almost every room had perfect ocean views (rather than only the most expensive room options) and where the pools viewed the ocean while you were in them (too many resorts have pools hidden from the ocean). The mountains surrounding the private/secluded cove were a huge plus along with the uncrowded beach, and the food was excellent everywhere with plenty of options. The ocean was very rough, so that could be a deal breaker for those who love to get in the ocean. All the workers were respectful, pleasant and quick of service. We had no trouble making restaurant reservations and never waited long anywhere. I would actually go back to this resort (actually, we met many couples who have been going back there repeatedly for years)!
Relaxing, yummy food, beautiful views!

Not sure we'll be back a fourth time....

My wife and I have travelled to Puerto Vallarta three times, and we’ve always stayed at the Hyatt Ziva all three times. I’m sorry to say that this third time around was the worst of all. First off, I’d like to say that the staff there have always been, and still are wonderful. They are always very friendly and very helpful, and always go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. That being said, we stayed for 6 nights in a room at the club tower (south tower), which has its own reception desk, mini bar, and small buffet area. We prefer the club tower because of these conveniences and the rooms are a bit bigger. The issue we had was with the condition of the tower/room themselves. It is in need of serious renovations, especially since the rooms in the club tower generally cost more. Sure, there are a few more convenient amenities, but they don’t make up for the conditions of the rooms. We found many issues with the room we stayed in, too many to list everything here, but here are a few… The room in general shows a lot of signs of wear & tear. The sliding bathroom door did not close completely, leaving a sizeable open gap. The closet doors did not close completely. The showers (both hand and rainfall) were leaking. The shower walls were falling apart, we noticed two big chunks of the “tile” pattern missing. Many of the lights either need repair or need new light bulbs. The “decoration” above the bed headboard was falling apart, looks old, and seriously needs to be replaced. The room was not clean. We found a (human)hair ball next to the couch upon arrival, and it stayed there even after 3 days, despite having our room serviced all 3 days (we eventually just cleaned it up ourselves). There are thick coats of dust everywhere, on the ceiling fan blades, the AC/ventilation panels, and ceiling ledges. There are news articles mentioning Hyatt Ziva spending a lot of money recently renovating parts of the resort, and some improvements are definitely noticeable, like the main lobby area, and the outdoor walking paths at the north tower. But it seems most of the money spent was on the north tower and other parts of the hotel. In my opinion, they seriously need to make some investment on the club(south) tower. As I said, we’ve stayed at the Hyatt Ziva all three times we’ve visited PVR, and we would love to be back a fourth time. I hope the owners/management see this review as constructive criticism, and seriously consider making some improvements/repairs to the club tower. Hyatt Ziva is our “go to” place to stay when in PVR, and we honestly would like to see them do well.
Expected more from Hyatt Ziva

Great beach. Fantastic staff. I hv been to this hotel 4,5 times before covid. It was always a nice getaway. This time, had a couple of issues. House keeping not up to standard, very disappointing. Our stay here was not as expected.
