The resort is going through major renovation. Pools do not accommodate the guests. Cabanas take up space at the pools which require additional cost to use. Food was below par at all the venues. The beach is gorgeous and the staff top notch but would never stay here again. This is my 4th trip to PV.

The rooms are very clean. Beds are comfortable, some good sleeping. Pool side service very good. Breakfast buffet is a standout - Selection good for everyone. The mimosas are a nice way to start late breakfast everyday. Service at breakfast very good, friendly and accommodating
Absolutely Amazing Resort!

Our stay at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning property, nestled between lush green mountains and a gorgeous private beach. The views are breathtaking, and the beach is pristine, making it the perfect place to relax and soak up the beauty of Puerto Vallarta. The resort itself is immaculate, with beautifully designed spaces, luxurious amenities, and a wide range of dining options that left us spoiled for choice. However, what truly sets this resort apart is the incredible staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Special shoutout to Fernando by the pool, who provided exceptional service, ensuring we were always comfortable and well taken care of. His warmth and energy truly enhanced our days lounging by the pool. Also, a huge thank you to Paulina in the coffee shop, who greeted us with a smile every morning and made the best coffee to kickstart our day. This resort is a gem, and we already can’t wait to come back. If you’re considering a trip to Puerto Vallarta, look no further—Hyatt Ziva is the place to be!
Overall pretty good

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva for 5 nights in early Dec 2024. The resort is pretty and situated on a beautiful stretch of semi-private beach. Pros: -Servers were all welcoming and attentive, and food and drinks at the various restaurants and bars were mostly decent. We loved Blaze for dinner and had some lovely options at Pureza and Melanzane, as well. The buffet options were tasty, although it can feel somewhat repetitive and limited, and it was closed on some nights, which was surprising (although the resort was not as busy during the first few nights of our stay). -We had the opportunity to do a free kayaking tour one morning with our guide, Kevin. He offers them at 9 am and 11 am daily and we were lucky enough to be the only guests during our time. He was knowledgeable about the area and led us along a beautiful stretch of PV down to the Romantic Zone beaches. Highly recommend if staying! -The resort offers plenty of options for staying active, including the use of free kayaks, a SUP, beach volleyball, and the fitness center. We took advantage of them all! -The beach is beautiful and there is plenty of shaded seating under thatched umbrellas. Servers check in often to refill drinks from the Playa bar, and lifeguards are very helpful with regards to swimming conditions in the ocean (which can look deceptive). -The hotel has a conservation program for sea turtles, and we got to witness the release of 104 baby turtles into the ocean one evening. I’ve seen this in Cabo San Lucas, as well, although the Hyatt Ziva makes it part of the activities program, so there is info on the species and the conservation efforts led by a host. -The resort is a 5 minute Uber to the Romantic Zone, so the resort feels private while also offering proximity to nighttime entertainment. Cons: -Unfortunately there was a lot of construction happening at the property during our stay, so there was frequent, loud construction noise when trying to relax on the beach. It also shut down the nearest beach shower to where our room was located on the second day of our trip, so we would either have to leave the beach pretty sandy and track lots of sand into the room, or trek to the other side of the resort to rinse off before walking back to our tower. Our tower seemed to have a bulk of the construction happening, even later into the day (past 6 pm) which was surprising. -The AC in the rooms doesn’t go lower than 68F, and it could get hot overnight while trying to sleep. This could just be a picky thing for us, because I usually sleep with a fan, but it definitely made it harder to stay asleep. -There are lots of vendors on the beach trying to sell items, although this is also common in Cabo and Playa del Carmen. It gets somewhat annoying to be interrupted repeatedly by the same vendors, though. -Entertainment felt small compared to our experience at previous resorts, at least during the evening. At two RIU resorts, there was a large stage with tons of seating, servers bringing drinks, and planned shows every night. At the Hyatt, we saw a small mariachi band and dancers which were lovey, but the entertainment area is a small section of the outdoor patio, and there wasn’t enough room to accommodate seats for everyone because it would be blocking a walkway. Another night they had a live DJ, only she was playing at 7 pm when most people were eating dinner, so no one was dancing. Seems like there’s room for improvement in terms of evening entertainment space and options. Overall it was a good trip. We hadn’t stayed at a Hyatt resort prior to this trip, and I think due to the Hyatt name, we had higher expectations than how it turned out. Previously, we’ve stayed at RIU resorts in both Cabo and Playa de Carmen, which had more variety with regards to restaurants, the buffet, and entertainment options. We’ll probably stick with that chain in the future, although I don’t think they have one in PV.
Overall, fine.

Highlights: Spa and Kayak tour (Juliett at the front desk of the Spa was wonderful and will be so helpful to your visit. Kevin, the Kayak tour guide was also exceptional)! Food is mid, boring, not too exciting but plentiful. Great beach, great pools. Honestly, spent a lot of our time off resort. Would be a great spot with kids.
