One of the best trips to Mexico I've ever had

Kittyd13 on Jun 13, 2025

First off I have to say this review is going to be long. I came to the resort with my husband and two adult children. We stayed 7 nights and it was fantastic. Victor the front desk supervisor was kind and friendly and when we had an issue with our room he helped us get a new one. He made us feel comfortable and he was a wonderful kind man. Mauricio and Juan both work at the front desk and we're extremely helpful informative and all around just fantastic. We had two dinners at the reservation only restaurant where we met Carlos and Antonio. Talk about welcoming friendly people. We had great food, good conversation and they made us laugh. What a great experience. In the morning we had Raul often as our breakfast waiter, he was so helpful and kind, I don't think we could have been better taken care of anywhere else. In our first room we had Araceli as a house keeper and boy did she make our rooms comfy. In our second room we had Esther and she made sure I had all the coffee I needed and kept our room beautiful. We've been to Mexico multiple times and I have to say this is the best service we've ever had. The food all around was delicious the staff was amazing and the beach is right out the front door. The drinks were flowing and I highly recommend the bloody Marys at the pool bars. These guys know how to make you feel at home. We had massages and pedicures and a facial when we stayed also. If you want an amazing massage ask for Miss Linda or Angelica, Linda also gave me one of the best facials of my life. Everyone at the spa was amazing kind and it was super relaxing and extremely affordable compared to US prices. I only have 2 complaints, the first is the pillows are not my favorite they're not very soft. The second complaint is that I only got to stay a week. We will definitely be back for fishing in November. If you're looking for authentic Mexican hospitality and food this is your place. A super special thank you to Victor and Antonio you guys are amazing. Thank you for a wonderful week The Millers

Last hotel in Puerto Vallarta

These hotel was worst hotel I have been to in Mexico. These was no view of the ocean . No elevators. The bed sheets were twelve inch short the mattress. The pillows were rock hard. Our room was five feet away from the stucco wall. The front desk doesn't know prices of rooms. The restaurant staffs and other staffs were very friendly.

This places smelled like mold and mildew, It was so bad i couldnt sleep. Got an airbnb the next day and my clothes all smelt like mold after being in this resort for one night. The only thing is that its close to airport and a nice hair salon (joel) nearby

Friendly staff , Great Location

I chose this resort based on a positive experience that friends had there. It is a little bit dated , but the staff are very nice ,food is average to above average for a resort . If you want authentic Mexican food you do need to go elsewhere, fortunately it is in a good location and close to several restaurants as well as nightclubs and shopping. the beach access is a little bit tricky and unfortunately the beach often has high waves and very strong undertow. The hotel met my needs for the price . I enjoyed my stay while I was there and the staff were wonderful.

A terrible disappointment

We just left this resort yesterday. We typically prefer the less grandiose resorts and don't mind older decor etc, so this was not the issue for us - if you prefer these things, you won't like this place. The check-in was ok - not very warm and friendly like other resorts we've been to, but they got the job done. The bellhops were great. On entering the room, it was clean and bright…and warm. We looked at the thermostat on the wall, which had no numbers on the dial but was already turned as far to the end as it would go and the switch was at the high setting, so it was as good as it was going to get (I can't imagine how warm it would be further into the year - it was only mid-March with 29C temps now). The ceiling vent which should have been blowing air at the high setting was barely pushing anything - you could feel a tiny bit if you put your hand right up to it. After a day of travelling there, it was time to test the shower. As soon as the shower started, the bottom of the tub started filling up and very slowly draining…had to stand in a couple inches of water the entire time with a shower head that sprayed weakly everywhere. The toilet needed to be flushed sometimes three times to get a few squares of toilet paper down. On bringing the issues to the resort’s attention, a shrug of the shoulders was all we got. The beds were soft, and the really small pillows were lumpy (a pile of small pieces of foam in a sack). The housekeeping staff was fantastic. The access to the beach was across the street and through the other resort where they had some really friendly bar staff and decent pizza and burgers/hot dogs available at lunch. The buffet had a good amount of fruit and below average selection of mushy warm/cold food (not sure how food-safe the temperatures were). The breakfast with the eggs any-style/omelets were great - delicious and hot. By the end of the week we were dreading going to dinner and ended up ordering pizzas or went elsewhere. We have never gone to Puerta Vallarta before where we looked forward to leaving; a first for everything I suppose.
