Great place to celebrate our anniversary.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience for our first time traveling abroad. The team was awesome. Our butlers were Indira, Saul, and Abraham. We'd be remiss to leave Blas out as well. They know the area well and were very helpful. The extra touches were above and beyond what we were expecting. We swam with the dolphins, and enjoyed chicken pizza (aka Chichen Itza) and Tulum. The Mayan dinner was great, as was the spa. We didn't get a chance to sample all the restaurants there, but the ones we did visit served great food.
A Good Experience Tempered by Pros and Cons

We (two couples) had a good time at the Ventus at Marina El Cid. But like every experience there were pros and cons. The lush grounds that connect the three hotels (Ventus; Marina; Ha) are immaculate and well maintained. Buggies/golf carts are on the move constantly and those requiring a lift to and from any location do not have to wait long for a ride. On that note, this resort is a good choice for those with mobility challenges. There is a definite plus to booking the Platinum AI package. The support and services provided by the butlers/concierge are worth the extra $, particularly in terms of booking restaurants and picking up/delivering laundry. Manuel and Are were absolutely wonderful and professional and are to be commended for their tireless efforts. The restaurant meals were very good. We particularly enjoyed A'Akat. The servers at all of the restaurants were professional. While the service was occasionally brisk we appreciate that this was necessary to maintain reservation time lines. The breakfast buffets had something for everyone, including local cuisine. The music in the breakfast restaurants (Ile de France & Trattoria d'Gulio) was quite loud at times upon arrival, however, and we had to ask more than once to have it adjusted. Along the same lines, the food was good in the Mercado de Dolores but the noise was similar to that of an extremely busy mall food court. For those who are wondering, the dress code is not enforced. While this is understandably a relaxed, casual environment, we thought that more could be done by management to elevate the dining experience for those who made the effort. It was particularly disappointing to see hats being worn at dinner. The Ventus pool was very nice. However, and because many guests got up very early to reserve sun beds - despite ample signage to the contrary - it could be problematic to get two or more if you were a late riser and/or went to breakfast before securing a sun bed. Regrettably, we saw no effort by hotel staff to manage this and it created an unnecessary element of stress. Added to this, on at least two occasions known to us, towels were taken from sunbeds presumably by guests who wanted additional towels! Uber service to and from the hotel was seamless and we were not asked to pay in cash. One vehicle was in "very good" condition while another was "good". We used Canada Transfers for our airport transfers and would recommend them again without hesitation. While it may not be part of the hotel's business model, we did not encounter anyone from guest services or from the food and beverage team during our stay. I provided some feed back to the Platinum office in person regarding the restaurant noise mentioned above and was told that this would be passed along.

Stayed at Ventus at Marina El Cid. Our Butlers were Erik, Alejandro and Samuel. They were awesome!! Very attentive and helped us through all our needs!! The hotel food is good, we enjoyed the town of Puerto Morelos and had a day trip out to Isla Mujeres. Overall 9 day stay and having those three set our reservations, bring wine, provide aromatherapy for the room, and answer all our questions was great!
Surprising Resort

We were unsure of what to expect since we had never heard of the facility. We were both very pleasantly surprised as it is a wonderful place to vacation, complete with an adults only rooftop pool and bar with a fabulous bartender!! We highly recommend it!!!
